Well, its been a rather long time since I posted anything around here. I can't stand the site much (seriously, it is abnormally slow on 3 different browsers on 4 different machines I have tried it on, so I give up) so I have been visiting elsewhere on the internet for stuff. Also set up an RSS feed finally (I know, finally getting with the times) so less tabs or comments or whatever to have open all over the screen.
Anyway, with that out of the way: Video Games! Man I love half.com I have bought so much stuff since I last blogged its ridiculous, here is the full list:
Enchanted Arms, Halo, Halo 2, Infinite Undiscovery, Prey, Kameo, Portal: Still Alive, Guitar Hero 2, River City Ransom, Mega Man 1, Zelda Twilight Princess, Castle Crashers, Zuma, Gears of War, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, Ace Attorney 3, Tales of Symphonia 2, Doom, Uno
And last but not least I may of accidently bought Guilty Gear Judgement this morning for my PSP by complete accident. That I don't care, the fact it was charged to my mom's debit card instead of mine, well I really need to get in touch with her asap. Luckilly the game is very fun and I am actually getting good at it (I am not that great at fighting games in the least).
Well, that is an update on games of sorts, now onto my real topic: More stupid people. Seriously, look, I get it - people don't like specific genres of games. Thankfully I am not one of those (since sports games don't really count as games.... right?) and enjoy everything. I see negative and positive in every genre, things that could be improved, and things that some genres do better than others.
There are people though that hate some genres for the dumbest reasons, let me clarify something here: there is nothing wrong with hating a genre but you need like an actual reason for it. There is a big difference in stating an opinion that goes against fact. A BIG DIFFERENCE.
Today I was given the most perfect example ever, a thread over on the giant bomb forums regarding some random place most people don't seem to like anyway called OXM giving the Last Remnant a 7.0 score (which technically means its a fine game anyway). Lets look at part of a post shall we:
"NOTHING HAS CHANGED IN 20 YEARS!!!!"
LoL. No, none of this is out of ccontext at all, take a guess at what he is talking about, I bet you know - yea exactly RPGs from those Japanese devlopers. I refuse to say that dreaded term JRPG anymore since its stupid really, but yes here is another random person stating nothing about RPGs from there has changed in the past 20 years. Wow, to bad there is a long list of facts that I am not even going to go into that completely obliterate that statement.
I don't want to take any more from the thread, even though there is plenty more for the taking. I just get so sick of "x genre is bad because x genre is good!" Comparisons like this are so freakin stupid it isn't funny. I think my favorite from them all is the random FPS player that always says "Oh man, RPGs suck because they are insanely repetitive, unlike FPSes which have so much variety!" A comment like that is so stupid I can not stop laughing for minutes at a time, I just don't get how thick some people can be.
Gah, tons of rambiling here I know, I guess I will wrap it up with this. I really miss the older days of when I was browsing the net, people tended to be looking forward to everything in games but for some reason its not like that anymore. There is such a stupid gap in the game world now its insane. I swear I think I might know 3 people outside of this site that actually like more than 2 genres when it comes to video games, pretty damn depressing to be honest. I miss the days of just talking about everything, now pretty much any convo I have about games is all based around who is near me. I have a fighting guy, a FPS guy, a bunch of WoW nerds, an FPS guy. And they all can't stand each other's game tastes, just freakin crazy. Makes for some weird times around the table.
Punch Out for the Wii.

Thats about all, sorry to waste anyone who doesn't care about Punch Outs time. Actually no I'm not ITS PUNCH OUT FFS one of the best games ever!
Ended up getting my 360 over this past weekend, really enjoying it so far. The choice did however come down to not washing my clothes for a week and buying a 360... and uhhh honestly my only excuse is I'm a dedicated gamer.
Was going to pick up CoD4 but jesus christ that game is still so expensive used, like what the heck. Guess I can't pick it up for a while. So I ended up buying Too Human (I'll get to that in a moment) and Lost Odyssey (for $20! What a good deal), first disc is in a bit of a rough state but it works fine. My 360 also came with Forza Motorsport 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance.
I went into it all expecting to absolutely hate Forza and having a decent time with Ultimate Alliance, though to my surprise I have had quite a bit of fun with Forza since it is easily accesiable to someone who sucks at racing games like me, oh and having a general direction to play the game in thanks to achievements helps a lot. Ultimate Alliance on the other hand... Ugh... It reminds me of the Baldur's Gate console games, except less fun. I mean there is nothing exactly wrong or broken in the game but it is on the bland side of things. I will still go through it for achievements at some point though for sure.
Anyhow, TOO HUMAN, let me just chime in on that. I have about 25 hours in the game at the moment. Beat the main story, my commando is at max level and all I can say is: I think I have it figured out! I understand how all these review sites think the game is pretty average... The game is not your average action-rpg. It plays more like a MMO, there is only 4 levels in the entire game and there is a big emphasis on loot. You get tons and tons of it through one run in a place. It is a game meant for people that like that "farming" aspect of MMOs to get that next piece of loot. As someone who put over 10,000 hours into WoW I have been able to really enjoy it since it reminds me of WoW without all the stupid stuff.
Otherwise, the combat is freaking awesome. Granted my main char is a Commando who really doesn't get into the advanced forms of melee combat it is still tons of fun. There is just enough variety thanks to the skill trees and spiders that it keeps combat fresh until the end of the game. My only real complaint with Too Human is the god awful bugs online. I spent 6 hours farming with my best friend this morning and there was this stupid bug that kept happening where my char would act like he is firing his hammer instead of his gun. It is so annoying.
I think that is it for now. I am probably going to be picking up quite a bit more stuff next week. Looking for some cheaper older 360 games that I have missed in time, have some stuff in mind... Oh and going to get Castle Crashers of course! Been really into coop games since I spent all day at a friend's playing RE:UC and Trauma Center, but that is to rare so thanks to XBL we will be able to play a lot more together like we did with Too Human this morning.
Oh and if anyone is curious my gamertag is "ZenaxPure", I will be playing a lot of Too Human until I complete my epic set, so yea >_>
