Well my copy of Windows 7 showed up today and I got it installed. Was a pretty painless process. Now I just have to install some games ![]()
So long Vista. Was nice knowing you.
Well, after all of the reviews I've read, I decided to bite the bullet and ordered the full version of Windows 7 Professional on amazon.com. I got the full version because I have the OEM version of Vista, and unfortunately that won't work for upgrading. I could have bought the OEM version of Win 7 from Newegg.com for a lot cheaper, but OEM would be tied to my motherboard. Meaning if my computer fried, I'd have to buy a whole new copy of Windows to install on a new machine. Whereas with the retail copy, I can just install it and have it work without buying anything over again.
Amazon.com had the full version of Win 7 Pro for slightly cheaper than newegg so I just got from there.
Been spending the day backing up my files to my external hard drive so that when I get my copy I can just install it and be good to go. Not looking forward to having to reinstall all of my games and programs all over again, but it will be worth the upgrade. And its better now than later, when I would have to reinstall even more stuff over again.
So, how are you guys enjoying Windows 7?
Well I've been playing Dragon Age, and I love it so far. Game is really a breath of fresh air, though that could be partly because I've been playing WoW far too much for the last year or so. So I'm kind of cutting back on how much I play WoW to revisit new and old games alike that I haven't played for a while.
I really love Dragon Age. It's a good game and I get the feeling it will be huge and last a long while. Plus, it apparently has mod tools, so that will be fun to mess with.
In other news, I got Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl 50% off on Imulse. That was $9.99. Great buy.
