Yeah so I currently love pandas, they are just so big and cuddley and dopey. I really want one! There is no way that you can watch pandas and not smile, if you can? Well, you need to see a doctor about that stone heart of yours!

Last night, my grandma died but I'm putting a happy face on it because she'd been hanging on for a long time and she's not suffering any more, she's at peace now so I'm taking what comfort I can in that. So the pandas are helping with the happiness. As are Gamespot, because I won a game ( Euro 2008 ) in one of the GS UK podcast competitions and I'm supremely happy about that because it's the first time in my 20 years and 10 months (exactly!) of life that I've won anything. So that also made me happy, thanks guys...AND the fact Wii Fit is out today too So there are lots of things to be happy about.

I finished the Lost game this week too, I have to say, it got a bit more interesting at the end and I'm kind of looking back on it now as 'hmm that was an alright game'. Also I played my boyfriend at Mario Kart locally this time, and yes I can confirm he kicked my bum at it! except at Coconut Mall because that is the only track I'm good at. I unlocked Toadette, but finding it a bit hard to play with her because she's so slooow!

Anyways, thats about it for this week. Hopefully next week, I might have some pictures of Wii Fit in action to amuse you all with

Sorry to hear about your grandmother, but as you said, it's nice to know she's at peace. I've not unlocked Toadette myself. I quite like racing as Rosalina or Funky Kong on the Wario Bike.

PAJ89: Thanks Toadette's my favourite character so I made a special effort to unlock her so I'm bit disappointed that she's rubbish! I've been racing as Peach, I was quite suprised that Rosalina was a 'heavy' character, she looks so light and floaty in SMG lol

Sad that your grandmother died My grandfather died peacefully in our house
Yeah, pandas is cute... Big, soft and cute
Posted Apr 25, 2008 4:11 am PT
I was equally puzzled that Rosalina is classed as a heavy character, but I like the way the heavy characters control this time around. I always played as the light racers in the DS one, but seeing as the drift boost has been nerfed a bit, the heavy characters are a lot better.

AffeTron: Thanks, it's nice that they go peacefully

PAJ89: Yeah, I think I might give the heavies a go, I secretly quite like Bowser lol do you use automatic or manual drift? I've been using automatic just to 'get started' but think I might switch up to manual.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother. Congrats on winning the game, when I heard the podcast I thought it was you
Posted Apr 25, 2008 4:46 am PT
Caddy06_88: Thank you I'm currently listening to the podcast waiting to hear my name up in metaphorical lights!
Posted Apr 25, 2008 4:53 am PT
Always manual. Automatic is good for the wheel, but I'm rubbish with it Boosting is always a great advantage, so I always go manual.
Posted Apr 25, 2008 4:57 am PT
Sorry to hear about your Gran . Congrats on winning a GS comp I haven't one anything yet
Posted Apr 25, 2008 5:10 am PT
PAJ89: I've given up with the wheel too, I'll probably give manual a go after I'm too tired to play Wii Fit hehe

Spartan_385: Thanks, don't worry I'm sure you'll win one day
Posted Apr 25, 2008 5:18 am PT
I won the 'Sounds of the City' cd back in 10/11/06 i think its about time i won again!!
Posted Apr 25, 2008 6:10 am PT
macacd: But it's a timeless classic! Sure you will win again, if not I'll share my game with you lol

Aw, I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

On a lighter note: I haven't unlocked Toadette yet. I've been using Toad mainly, I'm pretty comfortable with him and manual controls. Like I said last time it's the gamecube controller I use the most. I'd like to try the classic controller but I don't own one so that's gonna be a bit difficult.

Sorry about your grandmother, but it's good to look on the bright side.

As for Panda, I'd probably give them a big hug if it wasn't for the claws
Posted Apr 25, 2008 6:32 am PT
Strike_Zer0: Thanks I might give manual & Toadette a go, because I really want to use her lol I quite like the look of the GC controller but I'm sticking with the classic controller, I think they're just the same control schemes for both though.
Posted Apr 25, 2008 6:37 am PT
PJ24: Thanks, I think I'd want to stick to baby pandas for the hugs as they don't tend to have those big claws! Maybe just watch the big ones from a safe distance lol
Posted Apr 25, 2008 6:38 am PT
Awwww damn, yeah its always good to just forget the bad thing that happened and just remember the nice things she did
Posted Apr 25, 2008 6:56 am PT
StarFox-Elite: Thanks, I'm trying, we had some good times when I was much younger
Posted Apr 25, 2008 7:02 am PT
Sorry about your granma Zoe, hope everyone at home is doing ok.
Congrats on the game!

gamingqueen: Thanks to both

Sorry to hear about your grandmother, it's always hard losing someone you care about but as you said she's in a better place.
Posted Apr 25, 2008 7:27 am PT
zeus_gb: Thanks, it's hard but you kind of have to look on the bright side about these things
Posted Apr 25, 2008 7:29 am PT
People always say "I've never won anything in my life" but I bet you have won stuff before. I once won a stamp collectors starter kit dressed as the Phantom of the Opera at a Cub Scout fancy dress party. Crazy times.......

Sorry about your loss, it's good that you are keeping positive.

Sorry to hear about your gran Zoe. However let me welcome you to the "won stuff from the GSUK podcast" club. We have cake and coffee, and Friday is crazy tie day

On the panda front, u can make your own if u just paint a regular monkey. Theyre a lot more agile too.

awww sorry to hear about your gran, well have to get everyone to help get you a panda, maybe start a 'getting a panda for zoe256' union. Or you could just get alot of gaming therapy in the form of Wii or 360 (Wii60)

I'm very sorry to hear about your Grandmum Zoe, hope she is in a happy place. I think pandas are really cute too. I love there big cute chubby cheeks. I don't care about the claws I'd love to give them a big hug, so soft, furry and cuddly. Sooooooo jealous! I STILL don't have a Wii
Posted Apr 26, 2008 3:31 pm PT
I certainly would like to try Wii Fit out at some point.
Posted Apr 26, 2008 3:51 pm PT
Sorry to hear about your grandma. I'm also sad now because the Wii has lots of good games and I still haven't got one. Congrats on winning the comp though.

-INKling-: Hmm, now that you mention it. I did win the 'easter bonnet parade' at school when I was about 7, all we won though was a trip to the terminally ill people's hopsice near by to 'cheer them up'...think this prize is slightly better!

dannyodywer: Thanks I saw you won the Hitman stuff a while ago...and something about a video? lol I've had a better idea on the panda front, get a Chowchow dog and paint it! e.g. http://www.modernpooch.com/archives/Chinese_Panda_Dog.jpg braindead_hero: Thanks, thats a nice idea Hopefully I will have some nice relaxy time next weekend with the bank holiday and everything, I booked the Friday off too so I will have an uber gaming weekend, possibly with chocolate!

Jack_Force: Thanks, luckily I'm not overweight according to Wii Fit, but it also thinks I've lost 3lbs in 2 days lol so it's possibly wrong! Still, it's quite fun to play but doing the same exercises can get a bit boring after a while

arfy2: Thanks Pandas are pretty awesome, although I think the dyed Chowchow is probably a more realistic idea! Hehe, Wiis are cool when there are good games out for it, there was a few at the beginning but then it kind of went a bit rubbish and there were just lousy ps2 ports, but now it's picking up again with all these Mario games and Wii Fit.

Thorpe89: Yeah, it's pretty good I can see there being demos in the shops though as there is a 'trial' option you can do, just go when its quiet and try it out lol

mracoon: Thanks Yeah, the good games list for the Wii has grown a fair bit, it'll be easier to get one now the stock is more readily available too.

Sorry to hear about your Grandma, glad to hear your being brave about it though. And Panda's are fab! They're so unique and they look so cuddly Wii Fit looks great but I'll need a Wii first...lol

tofu-lion91: Thanks, she was ill for a long time so I've had quite a while to deal with it I love Pandas, I just ignored the 'panda attacks tourist' videos on YouTube and just watched the cute ones of the baby cubs, hehe Wii Fit is pretty good, very ingenious too.

condolences to you on your Grandmother, hopefully now you can take comfort that she wont be suffering anymore.
It is nice to know that you are putting a brave face on things, and filling that face with Panda's

I am also jealous at the fact that you have Mario Kart Wii, however my experiences with the game were slightly disappointing, maybe when i buy it my opinion will change.
I am also curious as to whether Wii Fit will be any good, have to keep my eyes peeled for that one.

I'm sorry about your Grandma Zoe. Have fun with Wii fit
Posted Apr 28, 2008 12:44 pm PT
My condolances. I wish you and your family all the strenght you need in this time. Uefa 2008 is a good game. Especially for free. I sould probably get Wii fit. I'll need it after all the time i'll spend inside playing GTA4.

Sorry to hear about your nan.

I was playing Wii Fit in my mates the other day. We got together to do Uni work but spent most of our time on the Wii. It was quite fun, although I was awful. My balance is terrible to say the least. Probably coz Im always pissed.
