I am not an avid Dynasty Warrior fan, but it seems like the games appeal to me. I played DW:Gundam and unlocked all achievements, took about 80 hours, and I LOVED DW:Gundam 2, but I can't find it for less the $55 used. My brother bought Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires, $40 new, and decided he hated it. I gave it a little more effort and I love it too. I played for over 20 hours this weekend. Eventually, my brother played co-op. He must have decided I was having too much fun with his rejected game.

Here's my review!

I gave it a 7.5. It would have been an 8, but there are a few too many little issues. The core of the game is solid.

Seems like another rental for me since I'm not really into those types of games. Sounds like you loved the DW: Gundam games.

Gamespot seems to have underrated that one based on your review and on other gamer's ratings. The game's learning curve seem to be a little off from what you described.

Review recommended! Great job!

EDIT: Not recommended actually because Gamespot is glitching up on Mozilla and not allowing me to give the thumbs up. I will try later.

@Pierst179

Its not the learning curve, its the difficulty curve. The game is much harder in the beginning. Even after beating 2 different modes on it now, I'm still most likely to die in the first few battles. At the point you have almost no health, weak attacks, no abilities, no allies, and maybe a card or two (weaker ones). There is only so much you can do. Edit_

Also, about Gamespots score, I do think they were overly critical. The graphics are not busted at all and they admitted to enjoying powering up the characters. I don't know what they wanted from it. I'll admit that not everyone will like it, but its only $40 brand new and offers a lot of value to for most people.

This is another good review (I also read your ODST review). However, the way you descibe the game it wouldn't be something I'd even want to rent. Just doesn't seem like my style, y'know?

I think this series, while obviously popular, has been much maligned in the gaming community view so I've never really looked into it. Sounds like it could be my kind of button masher, might have to give it a rent if I can find it in the local shop.

@NeonNinja

Fine with me. Playing the game, I knew that not everyone would enjoy it. The game sticks to its strengths though and I appreciate that. @bacchus2

DW reminds me a lot of Madden. It has almost yearly updates where not a whole lot changes. People who are fans of the series buy the yearly updates and play them all year... or a week without taking breaks at all and barely sleeping.

Interesting. FYI-I've got both PS3 and XBox 360, but for games on both I always go with 360, so that's where I am with RF:G.
