Last month, I was diagnosed with a pelvic abscess. I was admitted to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. (Is 17 still considered a child?) Anyway, I was there for a week while the doctors decieded if they wanted to drain the abscess or not.
In the end, they decieded not to drain it and simply put me on IV antibiotics for awhile. I came home with a PICC line (a really long IV) in my arm. I recieved IV antibiotics at home for three weeks. At the end of the third week, they removed the picc line and I'm now on oral antibiotics.
I've been on the oral antibiotics for a week and a half now and I'm feeling great. Sorry I haven't been with my union much during the last few months but hopefully you all understand.
Currently, I'm awaiting decision on one of my college applications. If I get in, it's time to slack off at school! Woo hoo!
Just thought I'd update everyone on my current situation and inform you that I haven't dropped off the face of the earth.

lol. nice whitesnake. nope, just an abscess, which defined by wikipedia is: "An abscess is a collection of pus that has accumulated in a cavity formed by the tissue on the basis of an infectious process (usually caused by bacteria or parasites) or other foreign materials (e.g. splinters or bullet wounds). It is a defensive reaction of the tissue to prevent the spread of infectious materials to other parts of the body."

My wife has systic fibrosis and she used to have to get a PICC line, umm, installed, yeah, into her regularly to feed meds to her heart. She says that they hurt like hell going in, but out its fine. Good to see you are okay. She now has a Portacath, by the way, so no more PICC lines.
