For those who haven't seen my previous story, the first part can be found here.
And now for the rest
The storm approaches, just like my dream. It whirs by in a flash. Although, the clouds cover the sky, the sound of thunder is off in the distant and approaching us.
Soon, the sky gets darker, the cloudy sky is a dark and eerie purple meshed with black clouds and blue lightning filling the sky. The rain hasn't come yet, but we can sense it's coming. Suddenly there's a loud screech in the sky, unsure where as it echoes all around us. I feel my feet begin to weaken, my legs about to give out underneath me, then suddenly I feel a tightening grip around my right arm, I look over and see the same fear and terror in her eyes. Suddenly I feel I cannot be scared, not now, not ever... not for her. I try to get a grip on myself, I feel some strength returning to my legs. I swallow a hard gulp as I try to focus my head around the situation.
Suddenly there's the loud screech again, and without a moments notice the lightning flashes, we see something in the sky, something dive bombing straight for us, all I could think of was taking the arm around mine and pulling away, but I wasn't able to do it. No... I couldn't. My legs were frozen stiff, like someone had put concrete as my shoes this morning, and I couldn't so much as wobble my knees until a sudden jerk pulled me free from these concrete shoes and I was able to run again. We both ran hard, ran as fast as we could, but it was no use, our timing was too late. We were grasped by the ruler of the air.
I could feel it, it's razor sharp talons grappling me tightly, me and her in one talon each, I wasn't hurt, I wasn't being punctured or anything, but was she? I couldn't think of anything but getting me and her out of here. I tried as hard as I could to squirm about, nothing. I wasn't strong enough to free myself from this iron grip.
The winged beast had begun to try and move out of range from the beach, when suddenly a loud scream from the bird came out, and a violent shake that forced it to lose it's grip on me. I was about to fall from what could only seem like a bottomless pit to me as the blackened sky made any sight of vision impossible without the lightning to aid us about. I hung on to it's talon when suddenly I felt the creature lose altitude. I tried to see how she was doing, but the bird still had his grip on tight from her, then I looked up and realized the giant beard had a harpoon stuck on it's right leg. Suddenly I could not hold my grip anymore, and I fell.
As I fell down, I hit the water hard, but I quickly regained myself. I had only one thing on my mind... I swam to the lights on the pier that were barely visible had it not been for the flashes of lightning. It was odd how it was so dark, even light sources themselves were barely luminous. As I reached the beach, I saw my friends, they had shot the bird down and were already aiming a second harpoon to try and take down this overgrown buzzard.
It seemed the creature was not satisfy with that idea and before long, it was about to flee, when suddenly it flew up high, high into the sky. I screamed out loud, cried her name and yelled as loud as I could to have it bring her back. Only the sound of thunder and lightning was too loud to even make my cries audible to anyone within 3 feet of me. The rain came on, it was sudden, it was quick, and it hit hard. Suddenly a flash of lightning lit the sky again, the buzzard seemed to be flying in the skies, but it was much higher than we could tell. Yet it was still very visible to see. It's golden eyes were visible even at certain points, and suddenly a flash of lighting came and struck the bird. I didn't know if I should be grateful, but it shocked the bird, causing it to drop down from the sky. Before it hit the sea, the bird seemed to try and save itself, and as it flapped up what could be considered a small hurricane, the thing managed to save itself before hitting the water. Just then it was flying back into our direction, unable to stop from it's momentum.
"This is it!" I yelled, and we raised the harpoon, ready to aim back at the beast. In what was merely an instant, seemed like forever. The giant bird came flying towards us, hoping to speed by us before we could fire. It was trying to gain altitude and then "Fwap!" the harpoon launched and hit the giant bird in the belly. It caused the thing to veer to the left and release Val. She was flung up in the air a bit, but I ran and dove to catch her just in time. I hugged her tightly, and I could not feel any happier. However, that happiness was a mere fraction of the time it took to take the bird down, because down her arm I could see blood, I felt warm blood streaking down her arm, and as I slid my hand across, I could feel the gash in her arm from the razor sharp talons of the overgrown buzzard.
I remained as calm as I could, I removed my coat, wrapped it around her arm, and picked her up. Suddenly one of my friends came to me and said she'd drive her away from here. She would take her back to a hospital, or something.
When she took her away from me, she ran back to the car. I couldn't bear to have the world end and not be with her, but I myself realized I would not let it end, the cost would not matter but something like this just couldn't happen to threaten our world.
Suddenly, the giant buzzard tried to free itself from the shop it crashed into, but it was no use. A few friends threw some molotovs onto the buzzard, set it aflame and the thing tried to fly up and away but it wasn't before long before the thing suddenly came back down, crashing into the sea. Then, we had heard what sounded like a fog horn. Something out there was coming.
Soon, the waves began to grow fiercer, the boats in the distances were flung to shore in a moments haste. Something about the water changed as well. I couldn't tell what, however it seemed to move as if it was almost... alive?
Just then, the lightning flashes again, we see intot he distance what seemed like a snake? It was a serpent, well half serpent. Before long the body was exposed, we see what seems like a body. There was a head, arms, a torso, and hair in the distance. It was long hair too, could this thing be...female?
Before long the serpent creature came to the shore lines, lightning flashed around crazily and we weren't sure what to do, but I don't know if this was pure stupidity or something more, but I felt I had to go into the water and take on this thing.
I grabbed a nearby boat, I shoved it into the water, and before long I was joined by the others. It didn't seem like we could paddle in time, however there was certainly something strange indeed about the water. It was as if it was pulling us towards the creature, or was the creature pulling us in? Regardless we had no control, our ships were moving forward and moving fast. We drew closer to the serpent, and much closer than I had hoped to be, but I felt I had to do something, find an answer. The creature was not as big as the buzzard however, in fact it was maybe a third of the size. Yet this creature was quick, it had a long tail and what seemed like sharp claws. Regardless of whether it was 20 or so stories tall, this creature was malevolent and had to die.
Just before the creature was more than a couple of miles away, we saw a flash and another. The creature was under attack, but by whom? Ships about were on the sea, battling the creature. Any naval force just seemed to be trying to take the creature down, and suddenly our current changed. I don't know what happened, but it felt like the water was moving us a different place for a different reason, before long, a giant wave from the creature swallowed us, threw us under the water, and I felt I was going to die here and there, I was too deep to make it out in time, but I had to try...
Suddenly, I felt something pull us underwater. "What's going on?" I say. Suddenly I realized... I'm not struggling for air... I almost don't need air. "How's this possible?" I look to my comrades, they are baffled too a bit, but almost like they think they know why. Swiftly we move around the ocean, with a speed faster than any sea animal I know. We swim under the creature, and around it, trying to find some weakspot.
It just came to my attention too, that I was able to see clearly and far under water. How or why would have to wait. The creature was my priority. While we heard more and more blasts from above, the noise was muffled yet clear enough to know what was going on. Suddenly another large wave passed over, and sunk some ships, we were swimming just beneath the beast now, when it's swift tail striked right by us, sinking another ship. I could see many men dieing as they were drowning into torrential waves below. "Why were they not being spared? " I questioned.
Just then, I thought of a way we could try and take the beast down. The harpoon gun with us, and the lightning around. I thought we could try and use that to our advantage and make a lightning rod of some sort to have the creature struck. I swam by my friend, swiped the harpoon gun from her hands, and moved around the creature. I was suddenly from the back, I wasn't sure if I was even controlling myself or not to be honest. I just knew what I had to do, and I had to act now. The creature was swimming already towards shore, and I was right behind it.
The beast either knew I was behind it, or the tail would have a mind of it's own, regardless what it was. I had to try and swim past the tail. It kept flailing violent at me, almost hitting me, but I was doing my best to dodge it. A few quick strikes and I was able to get past the tail about half way, when suddenly the tail swam differenlty and more side to side than up to down. I was knocked to the side. The harpoon had been thrown out of my hands. I did not see where it went.
The creature was approaching shore, and I fear it would be too late to take it down if it was able to somehow leave the sea, we'd lose whatever force that was guiding us this whole time. when suddenly the beast was just flung back. I don't know how or why, but from what I felt, it was as if a Wave that came from shore threw the beast back. "How did that happen?" I quickly pondered.
Just then, the harpoon was beside me, it was my comrades, they had found it and given it back to me. We knew what we had to do, and so we were rushing towards the serpent. The thing seemed to be regaining it's balance, it's body stood up, exposed to the waves and it let out a eerie screech. I wasn't sure how loud it was, as the noise was muffled underwater. Perhaps it was best not to hear it. Soon after, I felt a sudden push, like a geyser was behind us, as it jutted us out the water, all four of us aimed our harpoons, fired the weapons onto it's skull and were tossed back into the waves as the lghtning flashed again and struck the iron rods, frying the creature in the process. Moments later, it dropped, the body lied still and lifeless it seemed.
"Did we win?" I asked and shortly after the storm became calm. The winds were quiet, the waves returning to normal, and the beast was rotting away it seemed.
We safely wound up back on shore, the skies were bright blue, the sun was starting to peak out from the skies, and we felt like we were completely free and safe. Our worries were over. Well, everyone but me... I had one more thing on my mind.
I ran over back to Val, where she laid with my friend. She had awakened, her eyes looked into mine, and I smiled as I sat down beside her, holding her in my arms. Her arm was patched up, stitched and covered. "I fixed her up before we could leave, she wasn't going to make it to a hospital you know..." My friend exclaimed.
"Thank you..." I said and I looked over to her, I gave her a gentle kiss on the lips and smiled back. I was just happy that now... it was finally over.
Well hello everyone, before I start, I'd like to say I had a very interesting dream last night, one that is perhaps so strange and perhaps had so much going on, I hope I can describe each detail I saw in my vivid dream so well that you guys can get an understanding of what I had seen. I hope you also have fun reading this too, so without wasting anymore time... let's begin. It's a bit of a long ride folks.
The morning sun shines through my open window, just peeking through behind the tall evergreen trees. I blink my eyes a bit, to have them adjust to the sudden brightness and as my eye sight focuses, I look out the window and smile to see such a clear blue day and smile remembering something I had planned for today as well. "Let's go..." I said to myself smirking and smiling at the thought.
Quickly I get up from bed, stretch and find a change of clothing. I throw on a pair of jeans, a shirt and sweatshirt and then put on my favorite brown tennis shoes. I exit the room, slide down the rail of the stairs and jump off, head to the front door ahead and just before my mother calls to me "Where are you off to?" she asked "Oh... " I say stopping just with my hand inches from the door knob... "I'm going to go over to Val's house." I said as I suddenly had my hands on the door knob, twist the handle and had the door already pulled open with my body half out before I finished my sentence. "Well then be careful, and have a good day." she said in that warm and gentle tone of hers. "Sure thing, mom." I said as I rushed out the house and towards my car.
Soon after I reach her place. She sits on her porch bench, and when I exit the car, she smiles and then I smile back as I walk up to her porch. "Hey, how are you doing this morning?" I asked her politely. She smiles back and turns to look out towards the forest that is near her house on the other side of the street. "I'm good." she said "But you know... I had a strange dream last night?" "Oh yeah?" I said as I sat beside her, interested to hear about it. "Yeah, but let's not worry about that now, let's go I'm hungry." she said as she rushed me off the bench, holding my hand pulling me to my car. "C'mon, let's go" she said in a excited but rush tone." "Woah... haha" I said... "Alright, alright..." then I move to the door held it open for her and she just smiled back and sat down and I closed the door shortly after.
As we drove over to the local diner where her mother was the manager of, so it meant we got free food anytime, she asked me a question.
"Do you believe in signs?" she asked curiously.
"What do you mean? ...Like crop circles?" I asked unsurely...
"No like... signs or warnings about things to come. Like... Oh... I don't know." she said giving up, and as I looked at her face, she seemed a little worried or troubled.
We pull up to the diner, it's a very retro styles 50's diner with great food. We sat down on a table beside the window, that looks out to the forest. Val's mother came up, greeting us and then called over one of the waiters to come take our order. After we placed our order and the food came, we began to eat.
"Chris..." she asked again in that same curious tone of hers.
"What's up?"
"Do you want to go for a walk in the forest today?" she asked me
"Oh... yeah, sure. " I said half energeticly yet not being too enthusiastic about it. If anything, I didn't mind walking the forests, but it was a bit unexpected to me. I was actually planning on taking her to the port and go down to the beach on this sunny day. When the waiter came to take our plates, I tipped the guy exactly 4.56. Not sure why, it was all I had, but I just thought I'd give him it all that was in my pocket, I didn't bother to really count it.
After breakfast, we walked out, and as I looked into the forest, I had thought I'd seen something peeking from behind the trees in a distance. It was too hard to tell what this strange figure was, but before I knew it, the figure was gone. "Must have just been some deer..." I thought to myself.
We arrive at a trail not too far from nearby town. As we walk through the trail, she suddenly mentions her dream again.
"You know Chris, that dream I had last night. It ... well it was really something." she said, almost laughing and yet worried a bit about it.
"Oh? what happened?" I ask her, interested again
"Well... you were in it..." she said and I perhaps smiled a little too brightly for hearing that. See, Val isn't my girlfriend, not yet... we've been best friends for years now, but just lately I've started to have feelings for her. Yet the only thing that keeps me from being hers was that she has some boyfriend who lives in a nearby town just some 45 mins way. Yeah, he doesn't live in the same small town we do. Who care's how the met, all I ever hoped for one day was that they'd break up soon, so I could make her mine.
"Yeah, and it was strange. Because see, I can't tell clearly, but there was lots of water. Lightning or something flashing brightly and so much noise going on. I was like... underwater or something. However, I wasn't drowning, but at the same time I see people above me... floating and I'm moving with them from underwater... or something. I don't know. It's really weird..."
"I see..." I said, confused and almost unsure of what to make of this dream. "What did you think it was?" I asked.
"I dunno, I felt like it was... a sign? Or something." she shrugs and then looks to me almost relieved to have just said the dream and smiles brightly "Oh well, let's go back home..." she says.
"But we just..." as I turn to look behind us, I realized we walked quite some distance and hadn't notice. We reached a near end point to the trail, it's actually a fork that goes two ways but we weren't really interested into going to deep.
After dropping off Val at home, I remembered an errand I had to run. I drive over to the "downtown" area of our little down. It's a bit odd that our town is so small, but one small part of it can feel so quiet and old even though the whole place is hardly modern or normal.
I enter an Inn, where a friend I know works. She's the manager of this little Inn, and as I entered, she comes and rushes over to me and hugs me while greeting me. "Chris!"
"Hey Kristy" which is short for her name "Kristine." I always knew she had a crush on me, she's been a good friend to me for a long time too, but I never felt that way about her. She has short black hair, it's very dark and very pretty. She has dark eyes, brown almost, but you couldn't tell unless they were visible in direct light, for the most part they were dark black almost. She had some cute little dimples when she smiled too, and had a nice little round face too, and a good curvy body. I mean really, she is a hotty if I do say so, but I never really found myself going for her. My heart was for someone else...
"So let's go... I know what you're here for..." she smiles and pulls my hand, gripping maybe a little too tight for comfort, but I ignore it, and she goes to her little desk in her office, grabs out a envelope and gives it to me. "Here you go sir." she says a bit in a jingled tone. "Thanks... " as I take the envelope and walk out, she grabs my hand again. "Where are you going?" she asks me...
"To deposit this...." I wave the envelope. "Oh just stay a bit, I'm bored... there's really nothing to do today, and I..." I sigh and interrupt her "Fine..."
We sat down in the dinning room, on a small table by the window, a table just for two... She must have had the smile surgically plastered onto her face, I don't think I've ever seen someone smile so long without resting. "So what's up?" she asked me...
"Oh not much... today I had breakfast with Val" just then her smile stops... bingo! She really doesn't like me to bring her up, or anything about me and her spending time together. She isn't rude to her really, but I can tell she doesn't favor the idea that I like Val. " ... and well she told me something odd today."
"Oh? like what..." she says in a pretty careless tone. Knowing she wasn't really interested, just asking to stir conversation. "Well... it doesn't really matter I suppose, but tell me... do you ever feel your dreams are a bit like... signs?" I asked. "Like... visions?" she asked "Yeah... something like that. Ever felt they could just sometimes come true, but maybe not in the manner you dream it, yet the things in your dream relate or are symbolic of an event to come? "
"I suppose so... you could interpret a dream in any way, right? I mean sometimes I have had dreams come true almost exactly the same, however I've never thought of an odd dream being symbolic of anything important I guess... I dunno, I don't really dream often or remember them well. "
So after talking a bit more with Kristy, I leave. Go to the bank, deposit my check, and head home. The day is coming to an end, and I head up to my room, bored I couldn't go take Val to the beach on a beautiful day. Almost a rarity in these parts you, but whatever...
That night, when I slept, I had a dream. Val was in it, and in this dream, there was something almost eerie about it. I could see ships, dozens of them, by the beach, a storm had started so quickly, it was an instant flash, like the lightning that had kicked up just when it came. Then I hear a loud screeching sound, and from the distance I see something flying in the skies, I see something in it's talons... unable to see what, it's too dark. I hear the sound of the waves pounding the beach, against the piers, and people screaming. Just then, a flash of lightning strikes and I see inside the talons of the bird was Val. Shortly after, the bird flies off from the distance, and leaves.
Suddenly a loud roaring sound is heard from the distance, people in the beach panic and scream, running away from the beach. I look to the distance, I see the boats standing there, and these are not your cruise ship type boats. These are just ordinary row bots, sail boats, and the like. All these boats are being tossed and flipped by the waves, and shortly after.. in the distance I see something coming. It nears by me so quickly, and so fast, it's not long before I'm suddenly a few yards away and a giant tidal wave is just rushing right towards me, before long it calls on me, takes me away and I wake up, falling hard onto the floor of my room.
"Ow..." I groaned. "What a crazy dream..." I thought as i picked myself up...
Suddenly there was a loud noise in the kitchen, and as I ran down the stairs, I looked into the kitchen. There was something odd about this next sight....
Standing over the sink, hair black shiny hair, covering her face, I could hear her crying. "Kristy...?" I said, confused as to why she'd be standing here in my kitchen, in the morning. I slowly walk over to her, she didn't seem to hear me... "What's wrong...?" I asked her again, almost scared though. Still no reply, and as I inch closer and closer, I reach out with my hand on her shoulder. I turn her around and as I do, and in an instant I jump back, into the stove and yet confused and scared at what I was seeing.
Kristy's eyes... they... they were white. Pure white, her skin paler than ever, her hair was quite the mess, but even more so it looked like it was just unkept poorly. Her clothes were dirty and torn up, she then began to mutter something, it was almost unaudible but for some reason I could hear it clear in a soft deep whisper like she was near me saying it...
"All shall fall, and man shall tremble. Watch out for the king of darkness, his power shall bring forth beasts that no man has seen, his hands will cleanse this earth with of it's impure nature. Submit yourself or face extinction...." and just then she lunged at me, and before that... I wake up.
Now... in interest of time and flow, a few things I decide to tell you will be relatively short here.
Val breaks up with her boyfriend after realizing what a jerk he has been. Guy promises her the world, but truth is he just wants nothing but his own satisfaction. Kristy goes missing, before hand, she and I had a bit of a discussion about "us" and how I was not interested in her that way. Needless to say, I felt terrible when she went missing, like I was responsible for it in some way, and upset that the last thing I'd said to her was cruel and not true. Strange events had been occuring lately. There were mysteriour figures roaming about, I couldn't tell what. But every morning I'd see something in the distance behind the trees in the forest. A great storm is expected to come, and later on we had found Kristy. She was bruised and beaten, very bad shape. When I visit her in the hospital, she tells me what did this to her. I didn't know what to make of it at first, but later on I had an encounter with one of these things. After my encounter, I meet a man, he knows exactly what we're dealing with, and him and his two comrades are recruiting people to help them fight off this attack. I've done my best to comfort Val lately as some other people have gone missing too. Many in fact, it is scary to think 1/3 or your small town is missing with no trace...
Now fast forward...
Val and I are at the beach, she's informed of what's been going on. Scared, she's still standing by my side. She said if the world were to end, she would want to be there, right beside me and have it end with us, together.
**This is not the end, but because my dream is long... I thought I'd cut it down, look forward to part II**
for the HOME beta...
Yeah, that is quite interesting. So... I'll probably try downloading the beta tonight, and give it a whirl. I didn't expect to be a part of it, but to be frank I really don't see the point to HOME. I guess I can give the beta a try and see what happens. Supposedly version 1.00 is coming out and it's supposed to be big? I guess like add in lots of features that haven't been there. Hmm, now I'm curious if I should look for my Bluetooth headset again, and bother? I dunno... I don't know what to say for HOME.
