I have been crazy busy lately...especially with school coming to a close for another year. This is the time of the year when I start to get a little sad as another group of my babies will be leaving 8th grade for high school. There are some kids this year I'm going to miss terribly, because I've gotten to know them and gotten to watch them grow & mature this year.....there are others though that I won't miss at all!

I switched my signature pic to this lovely scene of Georges St. Pierre beating the living snot out of BJ Penn and then reacting in a very angry way when the round ends before he could finish the fight.

What can I say? Homeboy is even more hot when he's all angry & aggressive! *fans self*

Hubby and I finally got a chance to pop into Fry's Electronics the other day where it turns out they have some of the cheapest prices on MMA dvd's in Vegas. Hubby and I got to pick up 4 UFC DVD's and 4 Pride DVD's all for only about 40 dollars...which is amazing given that Best Buy (our other source for MMA stuff) doesn't carry much Pride & charges about $15 a piece of UFC DVD's.

I hadn't watched much Pride, but what I do see in these DVD's I like. Pride was sort of the WCW to the WWE that is the UFC. Problem is Pride went through some legal troubles & was rumored to be run by the Japanese Mafia UFC bought them out a few years back, but some of the fighters & other workers of Pride reformed and created the Dream fight league.....

I've also decided to break down and read this even though everything I've heard about it has made me lol forever (especially as an English major in college) . Most of the truly funny stuff doesn't happy until the fourth book.

Oddly though, I'm half reading it because every single 8th grader at my work has read it and I feel like I have to in order to know what their talking about and half because many intelligent people that I really respect intellectually have talked about what a good book it is.

Also, is it just me or have the wrestling forums way slowed down as far as posts go. With Sylent getting banned (which is still stupid) and of people who seem to either want to act like idiots or just argue for the sake of arguing, it's a little weird.

I like Pride more than UFC. Seemed more real for some reason.

I refuse to red that book and other fantasy types like, Harry Potter, The Lion, The Witch & the Wardrobe and LOTR. Fantasy stuff I can watch, reading about it, not so much.
I'll stick to my serial killers, wrestlers, religious novels and other odd things.

It's also always sad to see people you like go on to the next stage of their lives. When I left MS, I missed my Social Studies teacher like crazy. He taught the class the way a college professor would. I also had the best English teacher ever and would visit her for years after I left. Trust me, if the kids like you, you will never be forgotten. Good & great teachers never get forgotten.

As for the wrestling boards, I'm doing gamespot a bunch more and posting things in my blog. The tvDOTcom boards for wrestling has become trash and sylent being banned made me unhappy. It's not the same and never will be.

Pride had less rules than the UFC...and longer rounds which I like. I like getting to see some of my favorite fighters before they took one to many shots to the head (as bad as that sounds)...guys like Wanderlei & Antonio Minotauro Nogueira. While both of them have still been impressive in the UFC, it's nothing compared to how they performed in Pride. Did you see that Vince Russo is writing a book called "How WCW ruined Vince Russo"? I thought of you when I saw that.

And there is way too many blatant idiots on the wrestling boards now.

The move from 8th grade to high school is such a dramatic change for the kids, but no one ever seems to think about how it affects the teachers. Well, at least it'll be summer soon, right?

The WWE forums have gone into the toilet. Ramrom is back, and openly admitting it...and he's not banned? I've grown more tolerant of the people who can't spell and are just stating their opinions, even if I don't agree with them, and have completely lost interest in the forum due to the one poster whose sole purpose is to disrupt things. I doubt we'll ever get an influx of new, quality posters, because anyone visiting the site for the first time will almost certainly be completely turned off by the idiocy.

yooperchild, longer matches make for good stuff. Standing around and staring at each other for a few minutes is boring.
And they had a ring which is obviously a plus.

Is it because I love WCW and watch TNA that you thought about me with the Russo book (which I need to own).

Stupid posters make the forum annoying boards which leads to good posters getting banned and the stupid ones stay.

enervator-It makes me sad because for most of them (unless they have younger siblings or pop back in to say "Hi!") I never see them again. I'm almost envious of the 6th & 7th grade teachers who at least get to see their "product" continue to develop. Which one is Ramrom? And if the poster is the one I think it is, I've taken to reporting a lot of their posting simply because it's stupid. I figure that if everyone else (especially mods)are just going to punish in an arbitrary manner, I'm going to do the same thing.

Televisnostic-I like the refs in Pride could hand out yellow cards (which would take money from their pay) for being boring (standing around refusing to strike, clinch, etc). That would really, really eliminate stuff like that Anderson Silva fiasco from a few weeks back. And Twilight is actually good so far...I'm about half way through!

That's the link about Russo's book. I need to pay off the library the $10.00 I owe so I can read it when it comes out!

I want to read his other one too.
I'm a fan of his and enjoyed his tenure in the WWF and the WCW until he got dumb and no one would regulate him.

I had to repeat it since you are really going to miss your kids. Make those finals hard!

I'm starting to get more into UFC mpre than WWE. I've been watching The Ultimate Fighter this year rooting for the UK . UFC 100 should be good, with Lesnar vs Mir, St. Pierre vs Alvez and Bisping vs Henderson.
