So, this is my first blog as I'm not much of a blogger, but I did want to express my excitement of my newly complete Shin Megami Tensei collection. I recently bought the last game I need of the series, the original Persona. It set me back some dough, but it was a good price considering how much it normally goes for on Ebay. I now have all 4 Persona games, Nocturne, both Digital Devil Sagas, and Devil Summoner. I also just pre-ordered Devil Summoner 2 from play-asia.com with the plushie. SMT has become my favorite gaming franchise even though I'm new to it. I had always been interested in the games, but for some reason never bought them when they first came out. Better late than never though. I have only completed Persona 3 and 4, but just started on Nocturne.

I've only played about 4 hours of Nocturne so far, but I think it's pretty awesome. I like the classic turn-based style, the dark story, and the ability to recruit different demons. I also think the random encounters brings about a sense of nostalgia as most of the RPGs I've played lately have had enemies sprawled across the map. So far it's a good game with a fair amount of difficulty. There are a lot of similarities between this game and the Persona games, especially 4. Fusing demons, choosing which demons to have in your party, exploiting weaknesses, and even the story has some of the dark aspects seen in Persona. So far, great game, and I only hope the rest of the SMT games I still have are just as awesome as Nocturne and Persona 3 and 4. I have no doubt they will deliver.

Play-Asia is pretty good I haven't played any of the Shin Megami Tensei collection but I'm keen to investigate.

I thought Persona 4 was excellent. I have not had the time or health to get into Persona 3, which I just bought. I really like what I have seen of it, though. I agree with your comment about random encounters, with the caveat that the DDS1 game had too frequent ones. There is a balance, we all would probably agree. I would like to get Nocturne but it sounds kinda pricey. Glad to hear you enjoy it.
