So by nature, I'm not political at all but the more I thought about the now-infamous grenade spam video and the "Oh we got called on this" reaction from IW, the more pissed I got. As a result, I have canceled my preorder for MW2. I'm not encouraging anyone else to do the same or trying to organize a boycott or anything of the sort, but thought I'd post my message that I sent to IW explaining my decision.

After giving it a great deal of thought, I canceled my preorder for your sure-to-be-excellent shooter Modern Warfare 2. I have played every Call of Duty since COD2 and have always enjoyed the excellent polish and game balance they provided. However, in light of the infamous "grenade spammers" video and the extremely tepid response from IW on it, I don't feel that I can purchase games from you in good conscience.
I realize that your game will still be wildly successful, but as a gay man myself, I can't help but feel like my business is not wanted or valued by Infinity Ward. I know that the video was pulled, but the statements that I've seen come out were very half-hearted and had a tone that makes me believe that there is no regret for having made the video in the first place.
I will miss playing future games from IW, and hope that a more pronounced response will come allowing me to partake of your excellent game and the great games that I expect you all will make in the future.
Thanks for your time,

Good for you pal. I think you did the right thing, and you obviously felt led to do it. I hadn't even heard of this until now. While you liked the games, I never even enjoyed them personally.
Pick up Bad Company 2. IMO, it will be better than MW2. The original was better than the first MW.

Btw, I didn't hear the f-word mentioned in that link you presented. Am I missing it or was it changed perhaps?

@ LikeHaterade, it was at the very end of the video, where the video is shown as being sponsored by the "Fight Against Grenade Spam"
Thanks for the supportive words thusfar

Good for you, man. I don't like the CoD games, but doing a trailer thing making fun of gays is just not cool.

I dont get it 100%.
Is it about the video title mentioning the f-word, synonym for gay ?
Oh I got it. They made a pun with the initials of the message at the end which forms the f-word.
Anyway, so thats an official video from the company? Thats weird. Why would they tell players what to use and what not to use in their game if they made said thing available?
I know thats besides the point, but thought I should make some rhetoric q's.

Huh. Never saw that video before now. It wasn't even funny.
Good on ya for doing what you're doing.

Good for you man, the video was completely uncalled for and just not funny at all, to be honest I've been burnt out from Call of Duty since the first one released, as mattykovax said, I applaud you for sticking to your principals.

'I can't help but feel like my business is not wanted or valued by Infinity Ward'
I doubt it. $60 is $60, whether it comes from a gay man or not.
