I realized I had forgotten to put this image up, despite having said I would. This is my latest tattoo (#7)

The image (located on my forearm) is the Star Brand, from the short-lived 1980's Marvel New Universe line. In the comic, well, the brand was a plot device tattoo that was responsible for the emergence of super powers in an otherwise real Earth-like world.

Haha i thought it was the Valiant comics emblem at first. Wow I was 6-9 when starbrand was around. Are your other Tattoos comic related as well?

2 of them are; my right upper arm has a slight variant of the image of Dark Phoenix from the 1980's X-Men/New Teen Titans crossover and my left upper arm has Bettie Page's body with Death from Sandman's head.

It is so big compared to the source material...

Yeah, I had planned on it being smaller but after talking to the tattoo artist, decided to upsize it a bit.

That is so awesome. the starbrand was cool. Of course I was alos abig fan of DP7,all the other books not so much. But yeah, awesome tattoo and it came out really good.

Pretty classy stuff, hell of a way to represent your love for Marvel. As for 7 tats, I'm not even sure where I would get my first one much less what it would be... good luck on 8th one whenever that comes around

Nice design.
It would look better on a shoulder though I think....

Teenaged, the character that had the starbrand had the marking in that area of the fore-arm.

Well, in fairness the brand could be and was moved around. However, my left shoulder blade and both my upper arms are already inked, so that wasn't really an option for me anyway.

Ah ok I didnt know that.
It just looks a bit big for that part.
Still beautiful.

True, but I think the most common place was the forearm and the bottom fleshy part of the palm. And I clicked the link and wasted two hours clicking through the wiki reminicising about the new universe.

Very nice, man. I like it.

Props to the Dark Phoenix and Death. Sandman is one of the few complete series I've read through multiple times.

I like it!

Very cool.

Well this is a fine kettle of fish I must say! I thought I was the only one that followed the Star Brand comic book since in those days Jim Shooter was quite vilified and thus it seemed many people just heaped abuse towards his pet project instead of bothering to read it. I'm not sure why, but I really enjoyed Ken's struggle with having amazing power but having to struggle with things never really dealt with in comics like being able to find your way around while flying and loosing your sense of direction in space. I suppose I just really enjoyed the simple realism Shooter attempted to inject into the genre.

Looks nice. Wonder how many people would know that without being told though. I've read a lot of comics over the years and I'd have never known without being told what it was. Nice conversation starter though I imagine.

Well, one thing I like about it is that, while obscure, it is a reasonable tattoo design independent of it's source material, like my arm tattoo that is a mashup of Neil Gaiman's Death character on Bettie Page's body, or the Rood Inverse from the game Vagrant Story on my back. If you get the source material, awesome, but if not, it's still a pretty nice design in and of itself. At least, I think so

That's what she said!

Sorry, sorry; tattoos, eh? I read somewhere that one in four people has a tattoo. It makes me look at everyone I meet a bit differently. How about that guy? Her? Where might it be and what might it be of?

I think I've read too much BME. Nice choice of tat; got none myself. I change my desktop wallpaper as often as my underwear, so I'd be unable to commit. Well, maybe an Autobot symbol. Or rebel alliance symbol.

Hmm.
