So by nature, I'm not political at all but the more I thought about the now-infamous grenade spam video and the "Oh we got called on this" reaction from IW, the more pissed I got. As a result, I have canceled my preorder for MW2. I'm not encouraging anyone else to do the same or trying to organize a boycott or anything of the sort, but thought I'd post my message that I sent to IW explaining my decision.

--

After giving it a great deal of thought, I canceled my preorder for your sure-to-be-excellent shooter Modern Warfare 2. I have played every Call of Duty since COD2 and have always enjoyed the excellent polish and game balance they provided. However, in light of the infamous "grenade spammers" video and the extremely tepid response from IW on it, I don't feel that I can purchase games from you in good conscience.

I realize that your game will still be wildly successful, but as a gay man myself, I can't help but feel like my business is not wanted or valued by Infinity Ward. I know that the video was pulled, but the statements that I've seen come out were very half-hearted and had a tone that makes me believe that there is no regret for having made the video in the first place.

I will miss playing future games from IW, and hope that a more pronounced response will come allowing me to partake of your excellent game and the great games that I expect you all will make in the future.

Thanks for your time,

First, Apple writes dialogs like a speaker of English as a second language. These are the guys held up as paragons of usability? It would be nice if they buttons they tell you to click ('Yes' and 'No') actually existed on the screen.

Second, Stan Lee suffered from SEVERE short term memory loss, as demonstrated from this panel in The Amazing Spider-Man #3

Edit: To be fair to Stan Lee, maybe Doc Ock just can't see who he is fighting through those glasses, but you'd think he'd at least know that Superman doesn't shoot webs...

Actually, I like the rain, but today a sudden and pretty intense cloudburst in San Francisco led to scenes like this and, from a subway station, this. The only downside was that this happened shortly before rush hour and the flooding subway station meant there were no trains.

Of course, this also meant that the buses were impossibly packed and cabs could not be had for love or money. I actually had a cab lined up but for some reason, the cabbie decided he didn't like me and YELLED AT ME when I tried to wave him down. He was such a *** about it that I honestly came really close to breaking his passenger side window. Oh well, at least I got my cardio in in the form of a brisk power walk 2.8 miles home in a light rain.

This post was mainly intended to share the cool videos above, not to grouse, but as I type this, I'm apparently still angry about the cabbie (who refused me, apparently went around the block and refused me when I flagged him again, not realizing until he got closer that it was the same guy).

Some people just don't have opinions. Like xaos.
xaos must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could xaos possibly have for not rating a single film?
