Hi all. It's been a while! Unfortunately I am very busy with my PhD at the moment, and while I check up on GS regularly, I don't generally have enough time to blog between sleeping, eating, working and the slim social life i have in between.

So, what is new? Well I have got GH: World Tour now, which is making for some fun (and hilarious) parties. I also picked up Fable 2, Okami, Fallout 3 and Call of Duty over the Christmas period, as well as Infinite Undiscovery and Bioshock second hand. I'm now not buying anymore games until I have completed some of my backlog - though I was very tempted by Skate 2. However, this oath will be broken when Resident Evil 2 arrives - which I will most definitely be purchasing.

In other areas, I have finally managed to obtain the Neon Genesis Evangelion Platinum Colleciton (after 5 years of fruitless attempts at getting the entire series), all of Cowboy Bebop, all of Noein, and all the Death Note DVDs currently available in the UK. All these series I am thoroughly enjoying. I've also managed to get upto volume 13 of the Trigun manga, so I've nearly finished the series, and will be looking for something else in this line too! I'm thinking the Welcome to the NHK manga as it is pretty short at 8 volumes to tide me over.

Finally I have succumbed to nerdyness once more as a friend of mine in the department where I work loves to play boardgames. Therefore, I have picked up Munchkin and Hunter: Deadly Prey, whilst I regularly go round to his to play the Battlestar Galactica boardgame with a bunch of friends. This has also led to me digging out Magic: the Gathering cards and being tempted into playing D&D again...

As i said, much nerdyness!

That's all for now - hopefully I will come up with something more poignant next time.

Welcome back! I was wondering where you've been. It seems your up to your neck in video games now, so hopefully you'll get to enjoy each and everyone! And great catch on the anime, its always fulfilling to get hands on anime that we've wanted! I used to try out the D&D world, but couldn't sit along enough to get through a single game lol.

man those are some great games and anime but yah i kinda like the anime for Welcome to the NHK better than the manga, but both are still great and more than worth the time and money. OH and good luck with your PhD, hope your able to keep your grades up with all those games there tempting you to play them instead of studying

Thanks for the comments guys, it's good to hear from people again!

@Mahoney: Yeah, I've watched the anime for NHK and thought it was awesome. I can't get it on DVD here in the UK though, so I thought I'd get the manga - just so I can go through the storyline again. Also, manga versions often have slightly different plotlines, so it's nice to see where they go - Trigun is completely different from the anime for example!

oh well if you've all ready seen the anime for NHK then yah go a head and read manga, cuze you're right it dose have different storys than the anime. i never did finish all of the Trigun manga, you'll have to tell me if it's worth it once your done .

@Mahoney: Dude, Nightow's got some weird stuff going on in his manga, and it can sometimes be hard to follow and see what's going on in each panel. But, I'm on the penultimate volume of Trigun (14 is released over here in April) and it is blowing me away. Everything is truely building up for the final showdown between Vash and Knives. Once I read the final bit I'll be able to tell you if it ends well or not, but the series has been awesome up until now!
