What you ask? Well my thoughts on Halo 3 of course.
I've been kind of dead to the world the past two days. (Well more so than usual
)Like most gamers, I've been playing Halo 3. As of last night. I've finished the Solo game on Normal as well as the Online Campaign on Legendary. I've also found two skulls and gotten one other achievement.
That's a summary. My thoughts are kind of mixed. The game as a whole package is amazing. The term, 'More than the sum of it's parts' comes to mind and does a great job of explaining my thoughts. The graphics are ok, nothing special by any means, but not terrible or anything. The sound? AMAZING! Definitely equal if not better than Halo 2's. Control is perfect as it should be. So what am I mixed up about? Well the game is basically more of the same. It's Halo 2+. Which isn't really a bad thing. I guess I was just expecting more.
I'm probably making myself sound bad. I think the main reason my feelings are mixed is because of the story/ending. I seem to remember Bungie saying that everything would be explained, but it wasn't. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone. But I know I'm not the only one upset with the ending.
The length of the campaign was a bit short, but so were the first two games. It seemed about on par with them. Although I liked the pacing of the seconds a littler more. I haven't gotten into multiplayer too much yet. I've played a few games and the matchmaking seems awesome.
So, first impressions. Solid game, I'll be playing it for awhlie. Disappointing story. Damn you Bungie for not explaining everything. Where's Halo 4?
