Since when did online play and capability make or break a game?
It seems like today that games like Halo would've been crap if it weren't for online, and games like Uncharted and Bioshockare severely underappreciated for being offline singleplayer!

Uncharted and Bioshock imo were the best games released this year. Their story lines, gameplay and graphics surpasses anything I had seen in such a long time, especially uncharted; it even blew me away with the soundtrack, animations, and insignificant load times.

Yes, online play can be fun, but it should be kept as a side note.

I enjoy playing online, and it helps for me simply because my best friend lives over 40 miles away now, so when we used to just get together and play via splitscreen, that option isn't as easy now. I personally purchased Halo3 for single player and the online is just a extra plus for me. Some games strong points are their online and some aren't . I do think its probably hard for them to focus on both and get them both top tier.
