Hey all! It's been a long time since I have blogged or really done anything on tv.com. Some of you may or may not know that I have a lot of health problems, I actually don't like to talk about it too much. I was diagnosed as having severe Endometriosis via laproscopic surgery (the only way it can be done) nearly 4 years ago. Endometriosis is a disease of the womb and it leaves me in crippling pain. It's also one of those annoying things that there is no cure for and the cause is not known. I also developed a bladder condition a couple of years ago (the doctors are not sure if this is linked to my endo) and for the past few weeks I have been having treatment for this at the hospital. Hence I have been pretty much convalescing. I'd like to send a big thank you out to all the people that occasionally check up on me and
enquire about my health, especially Daria, Bea and Tish who have been very supportive
The title of my blog is actually something that Daria says and I go along with this mantra too, I cannot be wasting my time with average, or worse, below average shows, so I have dropped some shows this season. Some are old shows and some are new fall shows which I tried and didn't like:

Ditched shows:
Nurse Jackie. Had a great premiere but afterwards dropped significantly in quality and was very inconsistant.Watched whole season.

Dollhouse.
Was really bad to start and got only a little better as the show went on. Poor acting, poor
writing, poorly conceieved. Watched whole first season and second season premiere.

Sanctuary.
Had a few good episodes but got bogged down in a rather convoluted mythology with a few plot holes. Watched whole first season and second season premiere.

Modern Family.
Was only amusing to me and I think a comedy should be more than just amusing. The "mockumentry" format also adds nothing and makes the show seem pretty forced. Watched three episodes.

Eastwick.
Was crap. I don't have any other reason than that. Watched the pilot only.

Bored to Death.
Gotta be the least funny "comedy" I have ever seen in my life. Also what sort of egomanic does a show creator have to be to give the main character their exact name? Very lame. Watched first two episodes.

Cougar Town.
Too much shouting, not enough funny. You can do better than this Courtney Cox. Watched first two episodes.

So with those ditched shows here is what my fall schedule looks like (as per when they are broadcast in the US)

Monday: NOTHING. so boring. ugh

Tuesday: AGAIN NOTHING!

Wednesday: Glee

Thursday: Supernatural, Fringe, Community, The Mentalist, FlashForward (airs mondays in the UK but I normally miss it so d/l anyway)

Friday: Peepshow (in the UK, 1 episode left)

Saturday: NOTHING

Sunday: Dexter, Mad Men, The Simpsons

My schedule is actually pretty sparse, but I'd
rather watch a few very good shows than loads of crap shows.
Other than those shows I am also catching up on some old shows: Battlestar Galactica, In Treatment season 2 and The 4400 (not the best of shows, but hasn't been
offensively bad... a few bad storylines though....Plus I like doing actor spotting. There are a few actors from Supernatural for example)

Which reminds me, Daria has been pestering me to finish my blog game (which is gonna be a TV verison of "six degrees") I can't promise when this will be done but I am going to be working on it

Tomorrow is my birthday I don't have any major plans, I'm going to be taking it easy and seeing my family. I might do something later in the week when I am feeling better.

Jodie

Hey TISH! LMAO... I KNEW you was drunk Awww that's so nice of you to say
Joel was in an episode of Pushing Daisies... but I can't think what else he has been in...
FlashForward is pretty damn good! you should check it out! I think John Cho is kinda cute

Hands off! That Cas doll is so MINE!
Posted Oct 19, 2009 2:59 pm PT
I had a very similar reaction to Bea's too this, only I was whispering while screaming instead of singing. Screaming of excitement and whispering cause I'm supposed to be sleeping
Posted Oct 19, 2009 2:59 pm PT
and since you are brbing I just have to comment

Very sorry to hear about your medical condition .
Ditched Modern Family, Dollhouse, Eastwick, Cougartown and Bored to Death. There are a lot of mediocre new shows this year.
Out of your fall schedule I watch Dexter, Glee and Flashforward. I'm saving Mad Men for the winter, it's more fun to watch as a marathon than having to wait a week between episodes.
Happy Birthday, hope you'll feel better soon .
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:03 pm PT
Bea! Aww thanks Bea! It's just a small blog but better than no blog right? I look forward to hearing from you
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:12 pm PT
I didnt know about your health problems and i understand you not binging it up often. I never know exactly what to say anyhow, saying sorry seems like pity but i do hope that you are well (as well as possible).
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:16 pm PT
happy bday and get well
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:17 pm PT
Sad to say but i think i'll be joining you very soon in ditching "Dollhouse", its getting to the point where i have to force myself to watch it and thats not a good thing, i should look forward to watching tv, not feel as if its a chore. On the same note, i kinda feel like Joss's best days are behind him.
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:19 pm PT
"Sanctuary" is a kickass show IMO. I dont think its the best show ever but i am into the general scifi theme.
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:21 pm PT
AWWW Daria Screaming and whispering and singing? You joker only you would do that
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:23 pm PT
"Modern Family" is another show that i dont think is the best ever, but i do like it enough to keep watching. I somewhat agree with you about "Bored to Death", its not funny at all. HOWEVER... "Weeds" aint funny either, never has been but its still a good show. I just watch it them both and try to forget that its labeled a comedy series. The acting is really good and im a fan of actors so thats enough for me.
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:24 pm PT
LMAO! Wait, you saw the show was called "Cougar Town"... and still watched it?! Fo Shame! .
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:24 pm PT
My patience is wearing thin with "Eastwick", its entertaining and somewhat intriguing but SOMETHING NEEDS TO HAPPEN!
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:26 pm PT
I said I wasn't singing I was only screaming and whispering at the same time... I could scream, whisper and sing at the same time but it would be a little overkill don't you think?
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:27 pm PT
What may i ask is "Peepshow"... my dirty mind makes me think its something i'd be into. I'll be sure to come back tomorrow and wish you a happy bday, me dont do early birthday wishes . Later .
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:28 pm PT
I do like you Daria! you know I really like you
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:29 pm PT
If Dollhouse hadn't been created by Joss & CKR, Alexis and Summer wouldn't have been in it I would ditch it too. But Joss, Alexis, Callum and Summer are all people I would watch pretty much any show for so I'm stuck with it
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:33 pm PT
I kinda wanna check out Sanctuary... I still haven't gotten around to it yet.
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:33 pm PT
Eastwick isn't crap, it just isn't all that good it's average really. But average with Paul Gross = great.
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:34 pm PT
Cougar Town and Community are the two shows I might get back to around to in the winter break.
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:35 pm PT
I need to catch up on FlashForwards and Glee asap. Cause of Callum and Joss. Like I said, I would watch anything for those two.
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:36 pm PT
I have decided to save Fringe for X-Mas/Summer/when Jodie decides to do Fringe clubs blogs. Cause I think the show is much more fun to watch in a week rather than once a week.
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:37 pm PT
Jodie: ssssh! there may still be people out there that still think im sober... lmao... hey! nice shmice.. i mean it... and u'd better believe it ... Joel also presents The Soup on E.. crap channel i know but Joel makes it worth turning on... okay i'll keep dl'ing FF and who the feck is John Cho?? *goes off to imdb him*
Well u can have the Cass doll and i'll have the real live Misha thank you very much... i got me a stock of dairy products in so we are all set to go
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:37 pm PT
Supernatural and Dexter are two of the shows I'm most excited about every week. Well those HIMYM, Californication and believe it or not Bones
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:38 pm PT
OMG!! is CKR in Dollhouse.. i havent seen any of s2 yet...
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:39 pm PT
I will check out the Peep Show pilot... someday. But I have like 5 old shows I'm watching atm. It's pretty hard to even watch one of those with all the new TV watching as well
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:40 pm PT
I'm guessing you LOVE Fridays huh?
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:40 pm PT
Tish: CKR on Dollhouse is a rumor... but I'm hoping it's true. The guy gets around so it wouldn't surprise me.
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:44 pm PT
Hi Jodie. Have a great birthday with your family. Family can be the greatest gift we get in life; I know mine is. Also, making the most of your opportunities is the best thing anyone can ever do for themselves, TV included.
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:45 pm PT
@ Daria.. oh okay.. i'm gonna keep watching just cos it is a joss show...
Posted Oct 19, 2009 3:48 pm PT
Tish: Joss is the boss!
