Marg Helgenberger (I hope I spelt her name right here) is an incredible and hugely talented actress, probably best known for her role as ex- exotic dancer Catherine Willows, in the number one drama, CSI:Crime Scene Investigation.
Helgenberger has deservedly received two Golden Globe and Emmy Nominations for this role, and is probably one of the main contributing factors of why this show (and franchise) has become so incredibly popular. Her chemistry with co-stars Billy Petersen, Gary Dourdan (basically everyone on set) has elevated this little forensic show into must-have TV, and made international stars out of the entire ensemble. However Marg has always stood apart from other leading actresses, for her undeniable sassiness and charm injected into Willows, and still manages to convey a small sense of vulnerability.
Although supporting roles in acclaimed films like Mr Brooks and Erin Brockovich can also be added to her CV, Helgenberger is probably at her finest in CSI, and the dark drama showcases her talents for the 20 million viewers tuning in every week.

Although I've only seen Guilfoyle in CSI- I think that the rest of the world would have to agree that it is by far his most memorable role.
My first impressions of his character in CSI were not altogether positive- an aggravated boss who liked control and didn't see eye to eye with my favourite Bugman, Grissom.
However, as the show progressed, and he took a slightly more background role- I've wanted him on screen more and more (ironic-huh?). Brass, along with Greg Sanders, are the chief scene-stealers out of all the CSI's. The best lines, quips and storylines are his to own- and Guilfoyle handles by portraying an almost comic character, but with razor-sharp intellect and zero-tolerance for the bad guys. More Brass-centered episodes have been both entertaining and interesting to watch, and I firmly believe that without Jim Brass, CSI would be a whole lot duller.

I'll be honest, first. I've only ever watched Billy on CSI, but I deeply regret it. Personally- I've been practically in love with Gil Grissom since the first episode, as have millions of other women around the globe. It would be an awful shame to realise that *ahem* the character isn't real.
CSI is a phenomenon without a doubt, but one would ask the question- would this "forensic show" be as popular without it's enigmatic leading man? I think the answer to that is simple-"no way". Sure- the forensics and the cases are interesting and intricately planned to perfection, but it's Petersen and his award-winning ensemble cast that have turned this franchise into gold. The chemistry that Petersen has with every actor on the show (down to the characters that have about sixty seconds screen time) is astonishing. You see everyone through Grissom's eyes, and trust me, it's a sight to behold in the seedy town of Las Vegas.
For me, Gil Grissom couldn't be further from a simple "science geek". He is portrayed with obvious wisdom, courage and a weird but wonderful sense of humour. His on-screen personal life is just as interesting as when he's out catching bad guys- you could cut the sexual tension with co-stars Melinda Clarke and Jorja Fox- with a knife. But at the end of the day- it's his lovable fascination with bugs, that has made him so wonderfully famous, not to mention the fetal pig! He is just so unique, so blissfully out of the ordinary, that even if two more CSI's join on the bandwagon, you wouldn't give them a second glance. Not when Grissom is on. That's the way it'll always be.

Aside from being on my favourite TV show of all time, playing my favourite character and being one half of my favourite ship- Jorja Fox still remains one of the most talented actresses on the box today. Her stints on the ER and West Wing may have been brief, but the actress was certainly memorable- and gave her minor characters a depth where others may not have.
Sara Sidle is probably the character she is most renowned for- and Fox's balance of vulnerability and sheer courage conveyed in the character, make her indentifiable with a whole host of women round the globe. Although she can sometimes be seen as contreversial- it is evident that viewers have warmed to this fictional character immensly. Standout episodes in recent years include Empty Eyes and Nesting Dolls- where Fox was able to let the emotions run totally free. Ms Fox does indeed benefit from a truly mesmorising ensemble cast, but she can certainly carry an episode without any problems.
The person we see in interviews and at events seems to be a genuinely nice person too- with a fun outlook on life- forever joking around with co-stars and not taking herself too seriously. She's a breath of fresh air in this image orientated business- and certainly isn't the type to spend hours scrutinising her own appearence. Vanity does not seem to be a word in Jorja Fox's dictionary- she seems really genuine.

weescottie must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could weescottie possibly have for not rating a single film?
