GAMES: GameSpot GameFAQs MOVIES: Metacritic Movietome Comic-Con

Well, I have had my meeting this morning and it is official, I have been made redundant for the third time in five years. "Due to the current economic climate and declining business blah blah blah, we are having to lay you off."

GREAT!

So, I am now officially unemployed. I have more time to game at least! I am trying out a new type of game for me, which is Lost Odyssey. I haven't ever played a JRPG so I am approaching it with a little trepidation, however I am 5 hours in so far and am quite enjoying it. I am paranoid that I am going to miss something so I will need a walktrhrough to guide me through.

If anyone has any tips on how to approach this game, they would be most appreciated.

Bummer. Loads of redundancies around here, too - keeping my head down. Feels more to me like employers are using the 'downturn' as an excuse to cut salary costs, rather than genuine business need - my company is actually having one of the best years for a long while, but they are still shedding 12% of the workforce. Gits.

Best of luck seeking an alternative.

I'm sorry that you got laid off. I have a few friends that have recently been laid off and it sucks. I hope that a new job comes you way soon.

As for Lost Odyssey, it's a awesome game, in my opinion. As for advice, I would make sure to level all your characters up to the cap limit per area. You'll know when you've reached the cap because your characters will go from gaining levels easy to very hard. Also, for boss battles keeping all your characters alive at all cost is huge. Because once one dies it becomes really difficult to bring them back to life because the computer likes to attack the weaker characters often.

Oh man, sorry to hear about the job situation Just when you think things might turn around, you hear news like this. How about becoming a Tour Guide? Us MGU peeps from the states could come out for a week or so and you could show us around!

Sorry about that - but way to look on the bright side, more time to game

I know a lot of other people that are in the same boat

Aww, that sucks. People just keep losing their jobs with no sign of this getting any better

Thanks all! Hey at least the sun is shining today, and seeing as I don't have to be at work, I might sit in it for a bit.

@ Gen - I would try my best

Sorry to hear about the job. I loved LO but my 4th disc wouldnt load so I could never complete it. Just talk to everyone and try to level your characters up as much as possible. As far as JRPGs go, LO is a bit more straight forward.

DON'T USE THE ********** WALKTHROUGH

I like Warbuff's idea. Sign me up! \

Don't worry too much about missing things. If something is required to continue in the game you'll always be able to go back and get it. There are plenty of hidden treasure chests and items in the game. But they are optional things like extra money or equipment. Just be sure to look for branching paths when you're exploring a new area. When you're in a city, always check the pots. There's plentry of stuff hidden in pots

Too bad about the lay off. HOpe you find something quickly

Sorry to hear about that. Have you tried signing up to a few agencies? If you can put up with boring office temp duties then they can be pretty good.

Either way. Good luck.

That totally blows. But on the slight upside we are going to have a super summer this year. I promise! I'm planning for droughts in work!

Thanks for the support guys. I am ok about it. I hated the job TBH, the management there were a bunch of idiots. (I would like to write something stronger but GS won't let me! )

@ Boz - yes it is true. I was there just over a year.

@ Imaginaryfriend - AKA solar - ah yes, but my completion keeps going down, stupid DLC ruining my completion percentage

@ Frodo - surely you can understand the walkthrough? I might have some OCD where RPGs are concerned @ macacd - well I will take you at your word, but if we don't have a good summer - I'MA COMING FOR YOU!

@ iowastate - thanks for the tips Thankfully, I have a little bit of a base tan from my recent trip to Italy
