Mmm! interesting! I think you have made a good and valid point here! the new consoles are definately moving towards the mature stage to a certain degree! but i think how mature remains to be seen as far as the gaming market goes! wether it will generate more than the movie industry via popularity & public demand is debateable naturally, and as for the future generation of consoles to be launched roughly after the 3yr cycle has exspired, well they should blow us away! for sure.

i think the movie industry will still have a larger income because not many adults/ old people play games, but they do see movies. however i think it will make a huge income

The quality of games and the amount of people playing them is steadily increasing whereas the amount of movie go-ers is decreasing due to high theater costs and general crapporama about the place (hmmm, could you stand another Lindsay Lohan film? I probably could but the majority couldn't) compared to great movies of a few decades ago like The Godfather or Scarface or something along those lines. The movie industry needs a killer app film every now and again which it just isn't getting whereas gaming is always improving and innovating. It's no wonder that politicians are targeting violent games instead of films nowadays since gaming is expanding and will probably fly past movies in my opinion due to better immersion and more fun experiences...
