Its vacation time! Vacation for me means a few weeks away from the busy daily routine with lots of time for reading/walking/talking. I read a lot. I average around 120 to 150 books a year normally, but WoW has definitely had a huge (negative) impact on my reading rate! Time to catch up on all those books looking so invitingly at me from the bookcase. Not sure how many I will manage to bring back as "read" but I am taking at least 12, (ever the optimist!).

Deciding which to take is always a problem....I enjoy fantasy books, but also detectives, thrillers, sci-fi, even an occasional horror story. I think my companions are going to be books by Robin Hobb, Kathy Reichs, Ian Rankin, Mercedes Lackey and maybe a touch of Stephen King or Jeffrey Deaver....*drool*

Oh yes....ready to go!

Bye for now

Have a great time during your vacation, Bam !
And watch out for a possible WoW crisis, missing it for a couple of weeks can be very dangerous to your health

Seems we have similar tastes with books Bam. Although I don`t know some of the authors you mentioned I do like sci-fi, thrillers, etc. too and try to read every time I can, or that I`m not gaming.

you should take some Anne McCaffrey with you, too.

You're planning on taking a laptop or something with ya, right? And there will be a landline available, right? Otherwise, you're gonna get the shakes, Bam.

Enjoy your vacation and make the most of some downtime away from life in general. And enjoy your reading - if you're looking for some different authors, gimme a buzz. I might have some suggestions for ya.

(Try David Zindell's A Requiem for Homo Sapiens trilogy, or Dan Simmons' Hyperion Cantos if you're looking for a couple of series of good books. )

You should take a dictionary with you! But not so much for reading than for smashing people with it!
"Do you need any help miss?"
"Why yes, do you know how to get to *insert location*?
"Of course, all you have to do is-"
WHAM!

psst...don't forget to swipe the wallet!
