First of all, Happy New Year! I hope you spent a great time! But now, to games.
Last year was awesome, I mean, two all new consoles were released, and also many great games. But 2007 will have better, I'm sure of it.
So I made up a list of games and stuff to consider during this next year, have you thought of yours?
Wii
I haven't bought a Wii
, but I'll just have to be patient until they are available again. Here are the titles for Wii I really want to play:
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Abstaining myself from buying the Gamecube version, I just can't wait to play this game on Wii. I've waited, as well as many others, for more than two years, since E3 2004. But I'll wait, the moment I play the "only Zelda game I haven't played yet" has to be perfect.
The great franchise makes its debut on Wii on January 15 and it's currently on my "Most Wanted" list. The GBA version was fun enough for me to consider this on Wii, and the Wiimote will give the game thousands of possibilities! If you don't believe me, you better check out the game's videos right now!
The Metroid Prime series has proven to be a succesful makeover to the Metroid games, and they still keep the feel of the initial platformers. Now, it's time to shoot 'em up with the Wiimote. We can safely say it'll be the best shooter next year.
I got a little seasick on Mario's adventure on the Gamecube, specially after I liked Super Mario 64 so much. This time, Mario ditches FLUDD and we can now jump freely around the universe. This will surely be one of the Wii's must-have games.
More characters. More stages. More moves. Better graphics. Online gameplay. Brawl will surely be the equivalent of the GC's Melee. I can't believe Melee is 5 years old now. And I still play it!
Xbox 360
No, I don't have an Xbox 360, but that doesn't mean I can't play it. I might end up buying one, but I doubt I'll have enough money for that. Here are the games for this console I must play:
Banjo Kazooie and its sequel were some of the Nintendo 64's best. They succeded to outstand from the wave of games trying to achive the level of Super Mario 64; now, Rare has reassembled the team that made the first two games to make a third. This is going to be awesome!
Need I say more? Not only Metroid is closing the trilogy, but Halo is! It'll be a great shooter, but I doubt it'll be as good as Metroid Prime 3.
Nintendo DS
I don't know much about upcoming games on Nintendo's handheld; if you know of any other good games coming out tell me, here are my most expected:
It may be the fastest selling game in Japan, but that's not the reason I'm buying this game. I remember when I had the GB and GBC games, I loved playing Pokemon back then. I guess it became too old, but now, it will have online battle and trading, and I'm gladly into it again!
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
When I finished the Wind Waker. I couldn't help but think: So what's next? Where will Link go? This is my most expected handheld game, but it's coming out until october.
Virtual Console
Ever since my NES died (may it rest in peace), I've been longing for some old-school titles. New Super Mario Bros. made me remember those good times. Here's my list of VC games I want. Note: Not sure if all these will be available this year.
Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, and 3!
Excitebike
Contra
Battletoads
Castlevania III
Super Mario World
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (Most wanted title!)
Chrono Trigger
Super Castlevania IV
Star Wars IV and Return of the Jedi
Super Metroid
Super Mario 64
Mario Party
And a lot more! That's all I can think of right now! Any suggestions for Genesis or TurboGrafx will be appreciated.
So, what do you want to play this year?
