Although not as intense as the Phantom Menace, its sequel is one very enjoyable Star Wars film. Attack of the Clones takes place 10 years after Episode 1, Anakin has grown older and has become stronger, but due to the fact he started his Jedi Training too late, he starts to be arrogant to the orders of his mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi. The Galactic Senate has entered in a serious unrest. A political movement called the Separatists, led by the mysterious former Jedi Count Dooku wish to change the Republic's norms threatening to attack the Republic with an incresing army of droids. To counteract the threat, the Republic must rely on an army of clones found in a planet that was thought nonexistant to battle the Separatists. Anakin, meanwhile, must protect the Senator from Naboo, Padme, since she has been the target of bounty hunters. Although this is technically the longest Star Wars film, it gets stranded from the classic formula, implementing a lot of love scenes between Anakin and Padme to somehow explain how they fell in love. Action scenes are sparse and short, but the final action sequence, about half an hour before the ending, really compensates the rest. Including the fact this is the first time the greatest Jedi gets to show what he's made of, I'm talking about Master Yoda. Apart from tying many loose ends, Attack of the Clones is an interesting episode of the Star Wars franchise, but sometimes you get the feel it isn't actually a Star Wars movie and that it stranded a little from the saga, but not much. Plus, it's one of the most emotional parts of the saga. If you're a fan, it's a must-see, but if not, it's no too recommendable, I recommend the original trilogy a lot more.
