I'm really looking forward to seeing the new Star Trek movie too (and I have seen all the full episodes of all the Star Trek TV shows over the years)

Glad you liked it! I haven't seen it yet but I will. I saw some trailers and I want to see Leonard Nimoy, after all.

I wouldn't say I loved it quite so much as you did but it was certainly a great B+ movie. They didn't rely on all the old forms of the show, they made new and bold choices, gave great explinations for them (the time travel move was great and like you said not super confusing). I really really adored Zach in this so much! Not only his character and the delivery he presented Spock in but the intense levels, the dialogue and his relationship with Uhura! I already have a couple of their scenes favorited on youtube. My only hope is that if they continue the series they keep Spock/Uhura, the made such a great move putting the two of them together and not going for the easy out with Uhura/Kirk i really hope they stand by it because it can really help develop the characters and lead to really great stories.

I was never really into Star Trek but you and a few others have said it is excellent so I will probably see it. Tho since J.J. Abrams directed I'm not suprised.
