In addition to True Blood - I thought I'd blog about the other shows I'm enjoying this year.

I just discovered Lie To Me and love it. I like shows that make me think. I also love the Mentalist, Fringe, and the 11th Hour. They all seem to have that singular person who saves the day - might be a theme: a behavioral psychologist, a mentalist, a scientist, and an insane scientist. The fact that they are all flawed people who are always right makes them even more appealing to me.

I also loved My Own Worst Enemy - a very clever well done show that started late and unfortunately didn't get an audience.

I love Life and hope it survives because it is also so well done with engaging characters. I can't get into Life on Mars after having been a fan of the British version but I suspect anyone seeing it for the first time would enjoy it. Sorry to see Eli Stone cancelled. It has been slow this year and I'm not sure why - I just wish it could have had more time.

I got into Lipstick Jungle this season and actually purchased the whole 1st season. I must be a jinx because it was cancelled shortly after I found it. The same thing happened to Pushing Daisies which I found for the first time this year. If you have a favorite show, drop me a note and I'll try not to watch it.

So watching State of Play turned me on to a wonderful actor John Simm. To see more of John I found Life on Mars and I love it! One of the best series ever! So well done - I was around in the 70s and this show actually got it right.

The premise is a chief Inspector who has a car accident and ends up back in the 70s. You don't know if he is in a coma, dreaming, or really there. Anyway you look at it it's like Life On Mars.

Life on Mars will be done in the US this fall. I can't imagine it could possibly be as good without the English actors.

John Simm is also in Doctor Who and since I loved Torchwood so much, I will venture down that path also. It's really not the doctor Who from the 80s - its all new since 2005. Of course the shows I'm watching are all award winning shows so I'm picking the creme of the crop.

If this keeps up, I might find a fondness for Tea. Maybe not, but I defiitely have a fondness for Britt TV.

I keep finding such good TV. I watched all 7 seasons of Buffy and most of Angel. Spike became my favorite character. I started watching Torchwood for James Marsters and love the show - found a new actor I love - Burn Gorman.

Keeping with British TV I am now a big fan of Shameless and enjoyed State of Play, a 6 part political thriller also written by Paul Abbott.

Here in the states I'm back to watching my TNT favorites The Closer and Saving Grace. For the summer I'm watching Burn Notice also.

There is good TV out there - you just have to find it!
