Sorry for the drama but as you may gather my 360 caught the infamous red ring of death last night. It's an extremely annoying thing when a console dies on you but at Christmas, when you have a billion games to play - that just makes it 100 times worse.

To be honest, it isn't as bad for me. I didn't actually get any 360 games for Christmas. My brother on the other hand got 3. He got Gears of War 2, Fable 2 (which I was kind enough to buy for him ), and Call of Duty 5. As you can imagine, it is very frustrating to not be able to play those great games especially since he just got to start them before mr. red ring of death made a stop at our house. I did buy Mirror's Edge on the 360 for a friend but she's away so I wanted to try it out before she came back. I guess I won't be able to now. Oh well, I guess I can just borrow it off them at a later date.

We're planning just to buy a new core xbox as our harddrive is fine. We want to get it quick and repairing it will take forever. Hopefully since it's after Christmas, we'll find a cheap one somewhere. I know I'm being very dramatic but that's for the sake of the blog. As annoying as this is, there are worse things that can happen to you.

On an unrelated note, I haven't signed in since Christmas Eve. I just watched the GOTY video and I'm very happy to see Metal Gear Solid 4 won. It truly is a fantastic game and as Gamespot said, there are so many memorable moments in the game that you will remember it for a long time to come. If you have a PS3, you really should buy it.

Anyway, before I press the submit button just want to say what i got Christmas. I got the full set of Guitar Hero: World Tour for the Wii and Prince of Persia for the PS3, and my brother bought me Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations (what a long-winded title). I am having a lot of fun with these games. Especially Guitar Hero when I have 3 other people over. Also, I got Batman Begins and The Dark Knight on DVD. Seriously, I must be the only person in the world not to have seen those movies yet. I hope everyone else here had a great holiday. See you online!

If you read my last blog, you will know that I recently purchased a PS3 with MGS4 and Drake's Fortune. They are both excellent games but as a Metal Gear Solid fan, I just have to say, wow. I'm so amazed at how amazing this game is. Ofcourse, I expected it to be, but still I'm blown away by it.

Now, I haven't actually played it yet. I'm just watching my brother play it. It's the story and the settings and I find so amazing. I'm sure once I start the game and get to feel the gameplay I'll be even more in love with this game. My brother has just got to the 4th act, which is quite a nice surprise to us. If you have gotten to this act, I'm sure you know why it's a nice surprise. I don't want to ruin the story just incase someone reads this who hasn't played this game yet but it's brilliant. They take storylines from each MGS game and continue them and I presume will finish them towards the end of the game. It's great for nostalgia if you've played all the MGS games which is why I love it so much. Me and my brother really don't want to finish it because it's so good.

That's about it, short blog. Just had to say how great the game is. See you online.

So, after almost two since the release I got myself a PS3. To be honest, when it was released I never planned on buying it but over time, more and more reasons to buy it came up so I bought it, today.

I now have all the 3 current gen consoles and I guess you're thinking that I'm spoilt. In all fairness, my brother bought the 360 with all hiss money, and I bought the Wii with all my money and almost two years after that we split the money for a PS3. Quite a bit of saving went on before we could afford it though. Anyway, the games we bought are Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (quite a long-winded title) and Uncharted: Drakes Fortune.

Haven't played too much of them, but what I have seen so far is great. I'm only watching my brother play MGS4, and then I'll start my own game once he's done. May sound a bit strange but I did it for all the other Metal Gear Solid games so I may as well continue the tradition for the last MGS game...well by Hideo Kojima anyway. I really look forward to getting further...welll watching my brother get further into it as we have loved the series since we started gaming. MGS1 was our first game. I was 7, and yes my parents thought I was mature enough to watch and ofcourse than play a 15 rating game. I haven't become violent now.

I was playing Uncharted for a good while there. I have to say, it's a very fun game. At the moment I would have given it more than the 8 Gamespot gave it, but I haven't been playing it too long. I guess I should finish it before I make my mind up.

That's about it. I think the PS3 is a great console and I'm glad we bought one. Since the 360 is more my brother's, it's great that I have part ownership of a console to play great looking games that don't come out on the Wii. Don't get me wrong though, I'll still play the Wii.

I noticed I haven't blogged in ages. I saw that my last blog was about my 15 birthday and my 16 birthday is in a few weeks. Oh well!

See you online.

tryagainlater must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could tryagainlater possibly have for not rating a single film?
