About a week ago, the small town of Metropolis, Illinois, made famous by it's been used in the iconic comic strip, Superman, had an annual celebration of the character Superman, and anything or everything surrounding him. Among the four main celebrity guests was my personal favorite, Helen Slater,of the classic 1980's fantasy film, Supergirl.I was not in attendance, unfortunately, but I have been told plenty of wonderful stories about her appearance, and even watched the 45 minute Q&A with her on youtube. Noel Neil, the original Lois Lane from the 1950's and so on, was also in attendance. I am still, as of one whole week later, almost unable to believe that Ms Helen Slaterfinally came forward to speak on her first major Motion picture role in a positive light. It is, of course, something I had wished for over the years, and this actually proves that dreams can come true, as cheesy as that may sound. What's more, is that, while answering questions from the fans, and having a lovely time doing so, Slater also mentioned that she would be interested in appearing on the Supermanprequel TV series, "Smallville, were she to be asked to do so. I was wondering if she ever would, myself, after having seen Christopher Reeveand Margot Kidder appear a couple years ago. More acting to be seen, and appreciation for her first film, has put Helen Slaterbeyond a status of paragon, and just plain up to GOD in many ways. I have been a fan for years and years, and to see all this coming to pass in it's own place and time is such a wonderful thing to me, and other fans alike. Time will tell who she plays, and how she will play it. Until next time...
