Well, before I explain, I better give some background here: so I'm in a class called environmental science. Environmental science also happens to be my intended major for college Anywho, I've spent 3 weeks in this class, and I realized that I have a great skill for it Things just seem so obvious to me, and it comes so easy I have one of the highest grades in the class so far, and I wirte the best lab reports.

Anywho, in this class, we do labs all the time. We fill out a worksheet while we're working on the lab, and then the next day we work on a typed lab report. The teacher is really strict, so she is a really harsh grader, and she marks us off for the stupidest things Anywho, it became common knowledge in the class that I get the highest marks on my reports The recognition is nice, but it's not cool when my group expects me to write the entire report

So since I'm doing well in the class, my teacher moved me to a group of two kids that are struggling. These two kids are nightmares One of them freaking hates me for reasons I don't know, and she never wants to do anything She messed up our first lab, and I had to spend over an hour trying to find her mistake and fix it And then she turned around and blamed the whole mistake on me *insert bad name her* And during the lab yesterday, she went to her best friend's group, and told them some of our answers, and refused to help us with our report

Then the other kid tries to help, but he has no idea what he's doing So when I tell him what to do and how to do it, he doesn't try, because he'd rather I do it

So back to the advice part: we had to write 2 lab reports today during class. I worked on the hardest and longest one, and I gave the other two kids the second and smallest to work on. They had no idea what to do, and they messed everything up When I told them what they did wrong and how to fix it, they rolled their eyes and told me to forget about it So I finished the first report, and turned it in, and told the teacher about how the second one wasn't done yet. She just smiled at me and told me I still had 10 mins to get it done. Well, I went back to my group, and they turned off their computers and were chatting! They refused to get the report back up for me to work on, so I went back to the teacher and told her what went on, and she told me that I had until tomorrow afternoon to get the report turned in SHE ACTUALLY TOLD ME TO WORK ON IT AT HOME!!!!!!!!!!! BY MYSELF!!!!!!

So here's what I need help with: should I even bother to write our group name on the report? Should I just write my name and turn it in that way? And then should I talk to the teacher about getting a new group? These kids are failing, and I don't want them to think that they can get their grade up by copying off of me I really can't stand them, and might hurt them if I'm forced to work with them another day But I don't want the teacher to be upset with me... I just don't know what to do.... Help please?

first things first. tell them off. split up with that group and tell the teacher straight up the other two are being morons (well more politely than that) you shouldnt have to do all the work and they get the credit. sounds like those two would rather goof around then have the smarts to actually LEARN. also since we dont know each other. hi.

I can relate completely! I was one of the smartest people in Enviro. Sci. when I took it, and I had a group that I seriously suspect escaped from the zoo. My advice: just write your name on the paper, tell the teacher about the other two chowderheads, and then if she doesn't so anything about it... well then the next Lab day I think you might have to come down with a cold and stay home from school. The losers won't be able to do anything without you, the teacher might even punish them, and you'll have some sweet revenge!!!!

I think you should just turn it in with your name on it and not theirs. They don't care about your grade, so you shouldn't care about theirs. If you do all of the work, then you should take all of the credit. If the teacher mentions that their names are missing, just tell her you forgot to put them on. It's your last year! Take a chance!

Here is what i'd do. First i'd talk to your guidance counsular about the class and what you should do, they are great people to go talk to. Another thing you could do is to have a heart to heart with the people in the group. Try to explain the material and try to work with them on what they dont understand. If that works take it slow on the lab, take it one problem at a time and try to help them. If this doesnt work, do the report and credit it to yourself. The teacher knows that there is a problem with the two students. Your defence in this case would be the fact the other two people were not willing to work and did nothing to contribute to the lab/report. And even when you tried to get them to help they refused. Remember you went to the teacher for help and she did nothing.

Try ignoring them. Then they'll really need your help.

Turn it in with just your name. Tell the tracher that the other 2 refuse to do any work & just goof off. Tell her you refuse to be in the group with those losers. If she refuses to do anything about it go to an administrator. If that doesn't work have your mom call the Board of Education & make a complaint about the teacher.Don't let yourself get pushed around! Oh & I got your Facebook friend add on.

I love working with kids that don't want to work. You just delegate some of the assignment to them and let them know that you are here to help if they do not understand. Make them interested. Deep down they really do want to learn. I did this a lot in high school.
