Going to vote today for the French presidential elections! In Oslo!

ench Presidential Elections (picture) of flag and country

50 min plane to Oslo and 10 hours bus from Oslo - that was the cheapest. I'll do the same in 2 weeks, if no candidate gets the absolute majority today.

Exciting!!! I hope many people will vote and chose well! Some French cities offer 50% off cinema tickets or cheaper access to leasure locations for visitors with proof of having voted. Wish they did the same here in Norway!

Have a great Sunday, ya'all -- HUGS!!

WOW, you have to fly all the way back to France to vote?!? Don't they have some kind of absentee ballot by mail? Of course, then you wouldn't get the cinema discount... Have a safe trip! ang

I *think* that she is voting from oslo and travel to there by plane and back to her house by bus as it's cheapest, no way in hell to get to france by a 10 hour bus ride from oslo

Hey, torlight. Hope the voting went well.

I've read a few news articles about the election campaign and the angst among many in the French electorate. Sometimes I think you have too many philosophers in your country.

I saw a video of Florence Foresti doing an impersonation of Segolene Royal. At first I thought it was really Royal and I was amazed that she was a major party candidate. My mistake.

Good luck on getting to Oslo. I hope everything goes smoothly.

Thanks, Ang, my trip was ok although the bus part was a back killer. But I got both seats for myself.

Lil' Tee, you're right. I had to go to Oslo, (500 km from my home) to vote at the ambassy. There is no distance voting. I could have asked a parent to vote in my name, but I kind of like to have this luxary to do the hole thing myself.

Reghat: Thanks! It went well, and there actually was a queue down to the street. I felt so proud of my people!

You know, 123home123, you can even find pictures of Jessica Alba with the legend: "young Ségolène Royal" and it actually is believable!!! Election went well.

Thanks, 1treehillfan. That actually was a crapy day, rainy, grey and cold! But I got to meet a friend, we went to the restaurant, had lunch/supper and applepai for dessert... That definitely saved the day!!! I hope your week started great as well!!
