As you've probably noticed I've not been around much recently. There's lots of stuff going on right now and I feel like I need to take a break. I've been doing lots of shifts at work, college work and haven't got much time for Gamespot nowadays.
Braindead_hero's back is better but my dad replied to my email saying he's devastated with what I've said (about not seeing him anymore). I know I have all the right to be angry (especially since he STILL won't give me my trust fund after all that was said) but he is my dad at the end of the day and I hate hurting people so I feel terrible. I haven't replied - I don't think I can.
On a lighter note we've done a new podcast and I think it's the best one in a while - I was really in a podcast mood.
Me and Braindead_hero drew the winner of the competition today. I got a video clip of it on my phone (we used a random number generator on Shaun's calculator). It's uploaded to zSHARE (download only I'm afraid) if you wanna check it out.
(It sounded really loud when I played it but I dunno how loud your speakers are so I'd advise just turning them down a tad just in case! Oh and sorry about the crappy quality! And it's download only btw: I couldn't get it to work directly off zSHARE)
On a totally different subject I'm really glad Obama won, I just hope he lives up to the high expectations of him!
I don't know how long I'll be off Gamespot for but we'll continue to do podcasts and work on the site so keep checking back to:

About your father.. I know how you feel to not want to hurt anyone, sometimes you have to do it though. I hope you can work things out with him in even the slightest way. You should reply to his e-mail. Just say whatever comes to mind.
Nobody (in their right minds) enjoys hurting others, but you also need to do whatever necessary to ensure your own survival - there's no sense in maintaining a relationship that threatens one's mental (or physical) health. Just leave the whole paternal debacle as it stands - you've made your [justifiable] point, and if Dad won't come to the party, then he doesn't deserve an invite in the future! And who knows, he may eventually recognise the important things in life and try to redress the wrong.
Managed to get the vid, but no sound for me, so I've no idea who won
You're right - that was a great podcast - maybe you guys should do them from under the stairs more often! The general noise of school-life was an interesting background - I expected the Grange Hill theme song at any moment
Fallout 3 - fantastic (even the PS3 version), but I agree with your observation - the gals do look like men, dipped in tea!
Bill Bailey's great, and random encounters with his material are only matched by the randomness of his material!
Concerning f@gs, I've committed the same slip of the tongue whilst in the States - thankfully it's only ever earned me a sidelong glance!
I've also been a little too busy (work) to bother with GS - that and the proliferation of uninformed political rants, and predominance of knee-jerk anti-socialist reactions. To be quite honest, it often appears that the paranoid fanaticism of the McCarthy era is still alive and well, and thriving in the hearts and minds [sic] of the American public.
Don't be strangers - come back and visit
A break from Gamespot... I'm only using this opportunity to say hi and things! You do that!
Oh, and explore the vast possibilities regarding background noises on your pods. It could be made into a whole research paper!
see you soon
At least you won't be gone for good and the podcasts will carry on ^^.
Have a good time off ?
