Heya there,

I finished 2 more games this week : The Bourne Conspiracy and Uncharted. In a week or so, I'll write a blog with a mini-review about each of them.

So, it's time for me to fill in my list of games I want to play next, but I looked a bit further, I had a look at my games collection and made a list of games I would like to play and finish this year plus of course some of the yet to be released games.

Some of the following listed games, are in this list because this year or early next year, there will be a sequel in this series. Others are on this list just because I want to play them as fast as possible.

Here's the list :

1) On handhelds :

* GTA Chinatown Wars (DS)

* Final Fantasy VII : Crisis Core (PSP) : I want to start playing the series of FF VII games and this one is the very first one, it's the prequel to FF VII itself, the "epic" RPG.So many gamers still consider FF VII as the best FF game ever, but I want to be able to follow the whole story.

2) On old gen consoles :

I have a huge backlog of old gen games, I want to start working that backlog away.....I'll probably be done by 2020

* FF X-2 (PS2) :I'm almost at the end of FF X so it's quite logical that I continue the adventure in this game.

* FF XIII (PS2) : Before FF XIII will be released I want to have played the 3 FF games for the PS2.

* Beyond Good & Evil (PS2) : I'm already quite far into the game but never took the time to really finish it. The release of BG&E 2 gives me a reason to finish this fun action/adventure game.

* The Elder Scrolls III : Morrowind (Xbox) : I already know now that this game will take up a huge part of my gaming time but I want to play this game first before moving on to Oblivion.

* Resident Evil 4 (GC) : As most of you know, I'm not really a survival horror fan but I want to give this game a try because the zombies don't look too scary

3) On new gen consoles :

* Heavenly Sword (PS3) : Phee (Phoenyx9) recommended me this game. She also recommended me Uncharted and I'm so happy to have followed her advise, so I listened once again.

* Valkyria Chronicles (PS3) : It's a sRPG so it's got my attention and it looks so unique.

* Assassin's Creed (Xbox360) : played for some hours when it was just released. I want to have played it before Part 2 will be released.

* Bioshock (Xbox360) : Same story as for Assassin's Creed.

* Fallout 3(Xbox360) : I heard and read so many good things about this game, that I really want to play it as fast as possible.

* PGR 4 (Xbox360) : I'm quite a racing fan and it has been more than a year since I played a racing game, shame on me !

* Mass Effect (Xbox360) : Same story as for Assassin's Creed and Bioshock. And it looks like such a superb game.

So, what do you think of this list? According to you, are there games on this list that I must absolutely play as first ones?

I already know now, that I probably won't be able to finish them all this year because there are of course yet to be released games I want to play also. But I like it when I have some kind of system to progress through my games collection. Do you think it will work?

Cya all another time and have fun while gaming !

EDIT : I replaced LBP (PS3) by Valkyria Chronicles (PS3), more my type of game.

Morrowind is great, one of the better games that Bethesda has released.

That's a lot of games to finish!!! You should first finish: Beyond Good & Evil (PS2) , Mass Effect (Xbox360), Resident Evil 4 (GC), Heavenly Sword (PS3) and Bioshock. FF games are also good but you should finish these first. I played beyond good & evil long time ago and I did like it. I'm waiting next one It's good to have somekind of system. I'm just browsing my games and looking which I haven't finished and then playing those.

Big year for sequels again this year. Can't wait for most of those.

Wow, what an excellent backlog! Mass Effect and Heavenly are two of my all time favorite games, so I strongly to encourage you to play those first. But you can't go wrong either way with that list.

* Alli : I know it's a great game but it's so huge, it's going to take years of my life to come close to finish it ..... if you can actually use the word "finish" in the Elder Scrolls games.

* Mork : Indeed, a lot of games to finish, but I have many more in my collection who are waiting to be finished. But the games you mentioned are high on my "to finish this year" list, except for RE4, I have to wait and see if it's not too scary for me.

* Denis : Yep, that's why I'm starting my offensive called "ketchup"

* Jeff : You think those games are the only ones in my backlog !?!?, I've got around 100 games waiting...I'll have to keep gaming till I'm in my grave to play them all

Some very good games are in there

Putting your WoW hiatus to good use it would seem. Two more games down.

Out of those titles the ones I would recommend would be FFXII, Fallout 3, or Mass Effect. XII being my favorite out of them all.

I loved Heavenly Sword the end made me that's quite a list, I should write down my own list now that I'm settled in my new place. We have a lot of the same games on our "to do list'. oh and I am going to finish Elder Scrolls IV, I'm close ...really.

* Ilias : Indeed, there are, that makes it even more difficult to choose with which one to start.

* Steven : Hehe, spoken like a true RPG fan I want first to finish FF X and X-2 before starting with XII, I know XII is no sequel but I started out with FF X so I think it's only logical to play X-2 first. I'm waiting for a particular person - looks at Phee - to start Fallout 3, the game looks very promising.

* Phee: get off GS asap and finish Oblivion !!! Yep, we've got quite some games in common on our "to do" list and......watch out if I don't like Heavenly Sword

Great lists. I cannot really suggest any game that should be played first, but I personally, would start on the new generation consoles. Also, looking forward to your reviews.

* Matt : Why would you start with games on the new gen consoles, to stay up to date with that games library at least? Oh, and they won't be real reviews, I like to call them mini-reviews.
Posted Mar 27, 2009 3:47 pm PT
The reason why I would play the games on the new generation consoles first is because I only have access to those consoles (PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360). As for your mini-reviews, yeah I know, I have seen them before.

Man, that's a huge list of great games on there! When I beat FFX I was waiting feverishly for FFX-2. Unfortunately, for me, it wasn't near as good. But I did play it for the story. Now FFXII was a different story; awesome game! Well good luck with this list!

that list should keep you busy for 2009

* Nukku : Hello and welcome Yep, that's quite a list of games to play and I have many waiting for me. I hope you're right about RE4, that's it's not that scary I hear that a lot about FF X-2, that's is a typical girlish game. The battle system in FF XII (I played it a little when it came out) is different, it resembles more the battle systems in MMORPGs.

* Gary : another FF fan Like I already wrote in my reply to Nukku, the battle system in FF XII is very different from all the previous ones in the FF series, but that doesn't mean it's bad. I really like the battle system in FF X, it's a "full "turn based one but from the little I played FF XII, I can tell that I'll like that system also. Thanks, I 'll need the luck !

* Rich : I really hope I can finish all those games this year, I will have to game a LOT
