Yesterday was the release of The Beatles Anthology and The Beatles: Rockband.
It was the highlight of a truly terrible month for me, I have to say. Avid Beatle fan that I am, I pre-ordered myself a copy of the game a while back (The anthology is on hold at the moment. At over a whopping two-hundred dollars each, I had to make a call since my pathetic student-work salary would not allow me to get both. Can you say Christmas present?), picked it up after class and work yesterday afternoon, shot my homework to hell for the day, and went on to spend some of the best few hours I've ever spent in front of a XBOX360 console.
I love this game. I LOVE it, and that's something I say about maybe a handful of video games, Zelda: Ocarina of Time being among the few. Yet I repeat, I love Beatles Rockband.
The rush it gives you playing guitar to "Twist and Shout" or howling along to "Revolution" right along with the video scene is amazing. Harmonix really outdid themselves with the graphics, musical clarity, and detail, and I think everyone should buy/play this stunning game.
The above quote, in case you don't already know, is said by Ringo at the end of the "Helter Skelter" track. I started laughing hysterically the second I heard they had included it, and was forced to muffle myself on a pillow so I didn't wake up the rest of the house since it was close to 1 a.m.
"And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make."
