Alright so lets get this straight right off the bat. I like Nintendo a lot. I have many fond memories of my nintendo consoles, and own all of them but the NES. I bought a Wii two years ago excited that maybe just MABYE some really cool games would come out, and Nintendo would utilize their fantastic motion controls that made the Wii so different than the PS3 or 360.
Two years later I am still waiting...
Sure I have had fun with it. Galaxy was a blast I spent hours with Smash Brothers Brawl, and Metroid was phenomenal, No More Heroes was just plain amazing and easily one of my most favorite games ever. But what now? What else am I supposed to do with me little white box?
I love online play, and frankly it's a pain on the Wii. Call of Duty:WaW only had a max of 8 players online on the Wii, and that's just not very many. Friend codes are a pain, the online lagged horribly on Brawl, and the most fun I ever had online was with bomberman and that was only for a few hours.
Graphics. I could really care less here. I stand by game play over graphics, but does that mean that I have to stare at crap? The Wii can output great graphics, and it has proved it from time to time. Why can't more games look good on it?
Upcoming Releases have me dismayed. "The Conduit" is the only thing I have to look forward to now, and frankly that is only a typical shooter. Yes much work is being put into it, but it's still "just a shooter" I would much rather go play Metal Gear 4, or Uncharted if I wanted a shooter. Then at least I could get a good story while I gun down hoards of enemy's.I'm not at all excited for gamecube remakes for the Wii. I have a gamecube!!! Why do I want to play those games again?
So here I am realizing that all this potential that was originally there for the Wii is pretty much down the drain now. I think I'm going to sell my console and stuff and go out and get a PS3. Online is free and works, games look great, upcoming relases look good, and I might actually use it instead of letting it sit there all day long.
I'm done with Nintendo. I'm not interested in waggling anymore.
