This movie had a great story, impressive action sequences, a good script and decent acting performances. This is the first movie that I remember seeing, where Harrison Ford came into his own as an actor.
This movie is one my favourite Harrison Ford movie and director Steven Spielberg gives this movie his all - with amazin results. All in all, Raiders is an entertaining ride and is a movie that is not to be missed.

This may not have been the best Star Trek Movie, but it was a good beginning though. It also had something that some of the later Star Trek The Next Generation Moviesa lacked; big-screen thinkers. Gene Rodenberry surrounded himself with big-screen thinkers (people who worked on movies; not only those who had worked on the TV Show) when working on this film, and they used camera shots that made the sets seem bigger and the enterprise look better.
The actors and the roles they played were larger than life, larger than the small screen. The actors played their roles really well and seemed very comfortable doing it.
The story was good - it was entertaining and had a great ending that had many fans (including myself) wondering whether what happened at the end was the birth of one of Star Trek The Next Generations deadliest villians: the Borg.
Basically, while Star Trek The Motion Picture may not have been the best of the star trek movies - it is definitely a good movie and a decent start to a franchise that has now had 10 movies so far.

This movie is a fitting conclusion to a brilliant trilogy. It has its funny moments, being more light hearted at times than back to the future part II.

This movie is a fitting conclusion to a brilliant trilogy. It has its funny moments, being more light hearted at times than back to the future part II.
I liked how this movie started exactly where the last one left off - in the same scene in fact (excatly like the second movie). The three movies seem to flow better as one big story that way.
By the end, it is good to see that Marty has learned something - to not accept challenges (especially stupid ones) just because he is angry at being called "chicken".
The movie was never boring, it was paced well and the acting was just as good as the last two movies in the trilogy. In the end the movie had a happy ending for both Doc and Marty.
This is one of my favourite movie trilogies of all time, I can watch it again and again and as a final installment in the series - back to the future part III does not disappoint.

This movie is just as good as the first one, it is darker - that is not always a bad thing.

This movie showed an important concept - that changing the past (even only intending to do so) can have serious consequences on the future.
This film was still funny in places and a worthy sequel to the first back to the future movie.

Back to the future is a great movie, an instant classic; the best movie in the trilogy and one of my favourites - in short I loved this film.

It is one of my favourite, if not my favourite Michael J Fox film. Some of my favourite parts of the film are: Marty convincing (or scaring) his father into asking Lorraine (his future mother) out to the dance, Biff crashing his car into a manure truck, George punching out Biff, Marty singing on stage (and loosing it a bit at the end), Doc showing a model of how sending Marty back to the future will work and finally Doc trying to re-connect (with some trouble) the wire that was running from the clock tower across the street at the end.
Finally, this was an amazing film - one of the best.

As a film - return of the king is good, it has certain problems with editing and pacing (not all movies are perfect - there are always going to be flaws) for instance, the cutting to Frodo and Sam during the battle of Pellenor Fields slowed it...

As a film - return of the king is good, it has certain problems with editing and pacing (not all movies are perfect - there are always going to be flaws) for instance, the cutting to Frodo and Sam during the battle of Pellenor Fields slowed it down. There were too many fade-outs coming towards the end of the film.
The Battle of Pellanor Fields was great, with the charge of the mumakil being amazing and the only problem being the fact that, when the army of the dead arrived - the battle was over too quickly, it could have been slightly longer.
It was interesting to see how Gollum manipulated Frodo into sending Sam away, showing how much Frodo listened to Gollum to his own peril.
Despite these problems that I have highlighted, the movie was still entertaining and enjoyable, which shows the power of Tolkiens story.

As a book adaptation it is the weakest of the three - due to sequences from the Two Towers (Frodo's encounter with Shelob) were left until this film, the Pellanor Fields battle was supposed to be fought in darkness (clouds blocked the sun and made it as dark as night), little or no characterisation of the people of Gondor (as done with the people of Rohan), Frodo never sent Sam away in the book, and there was a final confrontation between Orcs and Hobbits in a Shire damaged by war. I understand while all these changes or omissions were made, some I can agree with (i.e. Frodo sending Sam away) others I don't.
Despite all these problems the film Return of the King was still a good movie - one that I enjoyed, while it is not the best of the Rings movies - it ends the trilogy in a decent way.

The Two Towers as a film is better than the Fellowship of the Ring. Even though the Two Towers has its fair share of walking to places - this movie signalled, no more talking it is time for action. And plenty of that we got.

The Two Towers as a film is better than the Fellowship of the Ring. Even though the Two Towers has its fair share of walking to places - this movie signalled, no more talking it is time for action. And plenty of that we got.

The Battle of Helms Deep was great, I really loved it - it was set at night, which added to the intensity of it; we are emotionally invested in the fate of the people of Rohan (having followed the journey of two children from a village in the Westfold, to Edoras and finally Helm's Deep) and any cutting to other sequences did not slow down the intensity or pace of the battle (i.e. to Frodo and Sam in Osgilliath and Merry and Pippin with the Ents at Isengard).
Amongst all this doom and gloom - there were times where Gimli the dwarf provided some comic relief, which was welcome and required in my opinion.
Gollum was an interesting character because of his split personality (Gollum/Smeagol).

As a book adaptation, the Two Towers does a good job - but was not as faithful as Fellowship of the Ring. This does not mean to say that the film was awful in this respect, just to say that it was not as faithful as it could have been. For instance, Frodo and Sam were not taken by Faramir to Osgilliath - in the book, Faramir was not as weak as Boromir and let them go in Ithilien. I understand why Peter Jackson changed this - with a good effect; to make us see how the ring was weakening Frodo, that he was willing to give the ring to the enemy.
Unfortunately - as the film did not take events with Frodo and Sam as far as the book, it leaves the encounter with Shelob and Frodo's capture to Return of The King (instead of in the Two Towers where it belongs).

Finally, these changes in the adaptation do not impact the enjoyment of the film but in some way enhances it. As the second chapter in the trilogy - it is a favourite of mine.

As a film Fellowship of the Ring is slow in places; but entertaining and the beginning of an epic quest.
The acting was good - that brought Tolkiens chracters to life, the special effects were adequate, the locations the film was shot in were perfect (exactly what was needed to bring the locations of Middle Earth to life on the big screen) and the score complimented the movie well.

As an adaptation, Peter Jackson did the best job he could as Fellowship of the Ring was not an easy book to adapt to the big screen. I think the parts of the book he left out (i.e. Tom Bomabadil, the Old Forest, the Barrow-Downs) were necessary to leave out, as they did not focus on the quest to destroy the one ring.

This film works well in two repects, as a film (irrespective of the book) and as a book adaptation - which is why I think this is the best of the Rings films.

The last Star Wars movie, it was a great movie - one of the best star wars movies. ROTS was easily the best of the prequels and is the darkest Star Wars movies (in alot of ways even darker than the Empire Strikes Back).

The last Star Wars movie, it was a great movie - one of the best star wars movies. ROTS was easily the best of the prequels and is the darkest Star Wars movies (in alot of ways even darker than the Empire Strikes Back).
What made this movie great was the opening space battle above Coruscant, the many lightsaber duels in this movie (the most of any in the saga) - especially the Obi-Wan vs Anakin fight, which was so well done it deserves recognition in its own right. The Yoda vs Sidious duel was a good one too - especially fighting in the Senate Hall was symbolic in a way. The duel between Obi-Wan and Grievous was cool to see - even though it did not last very long (Grievous wielding 4 lightsabers and Kenobi only 1).
The acting did improve in this movie over attack of the clones. The dialogue may not be perfect but can be looked past because the rest of this film is very good.
Anakins fall to the dark side is complete in this film - it was convincing and showed that the relationship he had with his mother was the key to his downfall; as he did not want to loose Padme the way he lost his mother - and was willing to ultimately do anything to ensure that.

The best line in the film is definitely where Padme is in the Senate Building and says,"This is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause"
In the end this film bridges the gap well between the prequel and classic trilogies, showing the fall of a hero, the end of a republic and the beginning of the Empire.
The Star Wars Saga is now complete - looking back it has been one great adventure after another in a galaxy far, far, away.

An obvious improvement from Episode I (which was still a good film in its own right), Episode II had some great moments - including:

Obi-Wan going off on his own to investigate the plot to asassinate Senator Amidala, the arena on Geonosis when Obi-Wan, Anakin and Padme were faving their own monsters, the battle of Geonosis (where we first see the clones in action) and the first time we see Yoda use his lightsaber (Yoda Rocks!).

The love story between Anakin and Padme - while the acting may not be perfect, I think it worked and was convincing. The death of Anakin's mother was a powerful scene, which is the first time we see a glimpse of Anakins dark side.

The scene in Rex's Diner on Coruscant was cool - I know that it may not have "felt like a Star Wars movie" but I think that Lucas was trying to show something different here - as we have already seen a cantina (in Episode IV) and a Coruscant nightclub (at the beginning of this film) and I think it worked. Some of the scenes in the Senate building were intersting to watch - seeing how the Chancellor was manipulating the senators (especially Jar Jar) and the situation at hand to his own ends.

The battle on Geonosis is the first time we have seen a larger-scale land battle (in comparison the battles of hoth and endor were smaller in scale on the ground) - it was impressive and put it together with a lightsaber duel between Yoda and Count Dooku at the end - even better.

This film also showed stronger ties with the original star wars movies - i.e. the geonosians working on plans for the "ultimate weapon" and Dooku taking them to Sidious on Coruscant.

At the end Yoda's words summed it up "the shroud of the dark side has fallen, begun the clone war has". Attack of the Clones was an exciting movie, showing the love story of Anakin and Padme; against the backdrop of foiled asassination attempts, political manoeuvering by the Chancellor and the beginning of the Clone Wars. Lucas has created great characters that we were introduced to in Episode I an he makes us care about what happens to them; which is whar in my opinion makes this movie great.

I really liked this movie, it introduced us to a great group of new (and some familiar) characters. This was the beginning of the star wars saga, and what a beginning it was.

I really liked this movie, it introduced us to a great group of new (and some familiar) characters. This was the beginning of the star wars saga, and what a beginning it was.

My favourite parts of the film are definitley the podrace sequence and the lightsaber duel between Obi-Wan, Quigon and Darth Maul. This lightsaber duel is unlike anything seen in the Star Wars movies previously - it had intensity, it was fast-paced and darth maul with his double bladed lightsaber was cool.

The battle between the droids and the gungans was great to watch. This movie also perfected technology for creating complete CG characters, including the much-hated Jar Jar Binks.

We finally get to see Coruscant the seat of Republic (and later Imperial) power, which was impressive. The movie did not get too bogged down in politics - there was plenty of action and comic relief (provided mostly by Jar Jar).

All in all, I loved this movie and it was a great beginning to one of my favourite movie series. It was entertaining, fun, and never boring; like all of the Star Wars movies.

This movie is a great conclusion to the Star Wars Saga, it helped tie up loose ends of the story from the Empire Strikes Back - in a very entertaining way.

There was plenty of action in this movie - more than any other star wars movie (with the possible exception of revenge of the sith). The action at the great pit of carcoon (sarlaac monster) was great and a taster of the main event to come - the battle of endor; the final battle for the movie (and the final conflict of the civil war between the rebels and the empire). The good thing about this battle is the action was split 3 ways - han, leia and chewbacca on endor; Luke with Vader and the Emperor on the Death Star, and finally the battle raging in space between Rebel and Imperial Fleets.

This is the largest battle of the Star Wars movies and it does not disappoint. The Special Effects used here took longer than they can now be done using modern methods - it still holds up well today.

There is plenty of emotion in this movie as finally a hero is redeemed...Anakin Skywalker through the actions of his son.

At the end, return of the jedi was one big adventure and made sure that the Star Wars Saga went out with a bang.

This was a great follow up to the first star wars film, it had a dark story (with a score to match). This was exactly what the next movie needed to be - just as good, if not better in some ways than the original film. As, in this movie we are...

This was a great follow up to the first star wars film, it had a dark story (with a score to match). This was exactly what the next movie needed to be - just as good, if not better in some ways than the original film. As, in this movie we are emotionally connected with these characters - following them through their highs and lows.

The Battle of Hoth was a great sequence to watch, Luke's first meeting with Yoda on Dagobah is classic. Other great moments in this film include any banter between Han and Leia; and finally Darth Vader's duel with Lightsaber.

Yoda's character is one of the unforgettable characters to come out of this film who can be amusing at times and very wise in matters concerning the force.

All in all, this movie was a good next step in the saga following Star Wars that does not disappoint.

What more can be said about this film that has not already been said? It is a great film, one of the best if not the best science fiction movie ever. It is the movie that started it all, it changed the way that movies are made.

The story was great, the actors did a great job with dialogue that was not the easiest to work with. The special effects for the film were great for their time and still stand up well today. Lastly but definitely not least - the score was amazing, John Williams did a great job here.
