 animal crossing

Hello!

With much excitement and happiness, I present to you, my Animal Crossing information!

----

Friend Code:  0496-5739-1578.

Name: TheBison

Town: Puppania

----

If you are interested in exchanging Friend Codes, please leave your information in the comments section and I will add you as soon as possible. Oh, and in case anybody is wondering, my town has cherry trees.

----

Initial Impressions:

I am about two hours into the game, so I've already finished doing the chores for Tom Nook and now I'm (as the character so proudly states) 'free'. Right on. At this point, it seems as though the game is largely the same as the last two versions with a few additions sprinkled in.

The most significant (aesthetic) addition that I have seen is the City, which is small but charming and a welcome addition in my opinion. I mean, really, having the option to go to places other than Nook's to buy items is great, is it not?!

Graphically, City Folk is much better looking than the GameCube version. I am using a 32" LCD TV with component cables and the game looks bright, colourful, and sharp. And while the Wii is obviously capable of much more, the graphics are forgivable and not in the least way offensive.

The sound and music in the game is much the same, which for me is good because I really enjoyed the songs from the past versions. All the other little sounds are what you'd expect and "Animalese" has not evolved at all.

For the controls, I am using just the Wii remote. I enjoyed the way the game controlled on the DS, so I figured that because the remote's controls were essentially the same, I would use it. There's a tiny learning curve to getting used to lining up your character to, say, shake a tree, but I would imagine that in no time it will be no issue. Oh, and navigating the menus with the pointer is excellent.

- (I have not yet connected with anybody, so I can't say how the online aspect works. Nor have I played with Wii Speak.)

Of all things new to this game, however, the one I am most excited about is knowing that there is much to be found and experienced. You know, all of those extra items, holidays, and interactions that you can only find by continuously playing the game (or cheating with a guide, I suppose). It is those that make this series great!

(And let me tell you, putting on one of those Mii masks really adds a lot to the game. "Hey! That's me! In Animal Crossing!!!11")

Now, I must get back to playing. I have letters to send!*

Cheers!

*Made delightfully easy with the help of a wireless keyboard. Much recommended.

@tudynuiz: lol Me too.

I'm getting it Thursday with a bunch of other games. I'm getting paid a lot on Thursday. Can't wait to play it. And good to know IGN didn't dissaprove of it TOO much for being fairly similar to the others.

@tidyniuz: Yeah, the emblem was a nice bonus, I have to admit. I never get emblems!

@GamerBoy53: Good to hear! I think that as long as you enjoyed the past versions of Animal Crossing, you will definitely enjoy this one. It is, without a doubt, familiar territory, but it's still a lot of fun.
