Well since I know nearly all of you are tired of reading my boring blog posts about life and stuff that's happening, I decided to make a post about gaming. I'll take a break from those other kinds of posts for some time, since I can just tell they bother some people. So.. As the title suggests, this blog will be about Uncharted 2. If any of you PS3 owners reading this have not yet played Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, then get your butt over to your local game store and buy a copy. It's only $30 now since it's a greatest hit!

Yeah, but anyway... Uncharted 2. I have to say, this game looks like it will blow every game of this generation out of the water. While I was a little suspicious at first, that Naughty Dog decided to incorporate a online multiplayer functionality to the experience (since Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was solely single-player based, you can see why I was suspicious) after playing the online multiplayer beta myself and experiencing it first-hand, I can say that this game will be fun alone, and with friends. It will appeal to newcomers looking for a great online multiplayer experience, and it will appeal to fans of the original (Like I) with an engaging storyline, new characters, amazing visuals, and much improved gameplay.

One of the things I liked most about the first Uncharted game was the soundtrack. The opening soundtrack still gives me shivers every time I pop in the disc, until leaving shortly afterwards because the enemies are too damn difficult on 'Crushing' difficulty. This is an issue I feel Naughty Dog must fix; give Nate a little bit more health on the toughest difficulty, so that I don't end up dying after two or three pistol rounds. That can get annoying after a while.

But still, this game looks absolutely amazing. I recently started playing the first Uncharted on Crushing difficulty (I'm goin for Platinum) and I am still amazed, to this day, by the visuals. And this game was made in 2007. If I didn't know any better, I would've thought this was Uncharted 2, judging the visuals.

But, visuals are of course not everything to the game experience. When I first started the mutliplayer beta for Uncharted 2, the controls felt clunky and out-of-wack. But after a couple online matches, I started to realize that there was just something wrong with my controller. And then after sorting through technical difficulties, I realized that they hugely improved the gameplay aspect of Uncharted. A problem I felt in the original was that Drake sometimes felt too light, light like a feather. But they've adressed this issue, and added some weight to each of the characters. Overall, I'm very impressed. There's just one thing I am a little weirded-out by. Jumping.

When Drake jumped in the beta, (or for that matter, if any of the characters jumped) they jumped in a very.. Awkward fashion. If you see some gameplay videos, you'll know what I'm talking about. Albeit it is a minor issue, I hope Naughty Dog sorts that out.

Well, I'll finish this blog entry. I hope some of you read it... And for those who made it to the end, congratualtions. You have earned yourself the delight of hearing a really bad joke, the answer to which I will reveal after everyone has tried to guess it. Here we go:

"How do cars always feel?" (How do they feel, meaning what is they're mood or expression)

Future

Back To The Future!

-Peace, Matt

Oh yeah and by the way, I got the Platinum trophy in Batman. I'm not sure if I mentioned that in my previous blog.

Uncharted 2, hells yeah! Uncharted Drake's Fortune's soundtrack was amazing, I sometimes find myself whistling the theme tunes while I'm at work. I still can't believe GS only scored the original Uncharted an 8.0. I hope Uncharted 2 gets a 9.5 or a 10... but it probably won't.

That game looks very, very pretty. I know very little about the gameplay, but if it appeals to me I may nab it when I get around to a PS3.

I can't wait for this game as well.

You're right, it will be nothing short of amazing! I didn't get to play the beta when it was running a while back but I pre-ordered the game from Gamestop last night and they're going to send me a code so I can play the multi-player demo early Can't wait!

I loved Uncharted. The only concern I have about part 2 is that the tacked on multiplayer will take away time and money from the campaign, which is all I care about. The game does look amazing though, so I hope I'm wrong.

I liked the demo of Uncharted I played in London Drugs. I'll probably play little bits of the sequel, but I doubt I'll ever manage to get through it.

It looks amazing graphically but I dont own a ps3.

Who says they're tired of your long other blogs? Not I. Write whatever you want and don't think about others! The mark of a GREAT writer would always do so.

Besides, I haven't played Uncharted so I had nuthin' to contribute to the rest of the blog. Except the DeLorean. Nice.

Your blogs haven't been bothering me
If I ever go current gen, I'll have to check out the Uncharted series. Hmmm... how do cars feel?
I think some cars feel automatic, systematic, and hyyyyydromatic... or maybe that's just grease lightning.

Yeah, Uncharted 2 looks to be the defining game for the PS3(no offense MGS4). The layered/alternating animations look awesome.

I'm poor so I can't afford a PS3, even with the price cut. Oh, well. Something to look forward to for next year.

I think I should pre-order its CE. But I don't want that stupid knife coming with it.

Uncharted 2 looks set to be amazing - and I'll be picking it up soon.

What other games you looking forward to tennis12master?

I think that this year is coming out with a lot of sleeper games. I feel that this second half of the year will be great. And lets not forget all of the title that got pushed back to early 2010. The first quarter of next year is going to be even better with titles like Dark Void, Lost Planet, and Bioshock 2 just to name a few.

Don't say it, I'm anticipating it so much, I just wanna forget about it

I don't know who told you that your blogs are boring, but it's their loss man. Uncharted 2. Sigh. Yet another reason I need to snag a PS3.

@slimdave21: Yeah, I sometimes hum the theme song as well. If GS gives Uncharted 2 anything less than a 9.5, well then there will be chaos. Lots and lots of chaos

@Aberinkulas: Think of as a slightly lighter feel to Gears of War, with much more fluid movement. At least, that's what it is in my opinion (In a nutshell). @mitu123: Awesome, can't wait to see you online
Posted Sep 15, 2009 2:23 pm PT
@Ifnot: Sweet. Also, I noticed that you still have not earned the Batman Platinum... What gives?!

@johnsteed7: I doubt it will be tacked-on, there seems to be a lot of potential for the multiplayer, but I do agree with you. I hope the single-player is still just as good as the original, and possibly better. @AlmightyMax: Yeah I liked Uncharted 1 also, it was quite the thrill ride.

@mprezzy: Thanks man, it's good to know somebody out there actually cares about my opinion And yes the DeLorean is awesome! @ebbderelict: Ah, another kind soul. Thank you friend (I'll let you know next blog if you answered the joke correctly, but good answer! You won't know until next time if it's right or not )

@gamecubepad: It's funny, actually... Almost every time a huge PS3 exclusive releases, somebody says it will be the defining experience. It happened with MGS4, it happened with Killzone 2, and now it's happening with Uncharted 2. Notice how every one of the titles I mentioned are sequels @kleeyook: I heard that the knife and art book only come to the winners of the contests they're holding at different theatres, but maybe I'm wrong. I'm just purchasing the game.

@tyzwain: Well, that's kinda a difficult question... There's a lot of games I'm looking forward to, but I can't necessarily purchase this year, because there's too many. But here's the few that I know I'll be buying sometime in my life: Uncharted 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Mario&Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, and possibly Heavy Rain. There's a few others, but I can't remember them right now.

@TeabagChampion: It's amazing; ever since 2007 rolled around with all the great games, the years since have just been getting better and better since. 2010 is gonna be one helluva year. @SGTiD1NGO: UNCHARTED 2 LOOKS AWESOME! Sorry dude, I couldn't resist. I'm trying to fight back the anticipation as well. @EarthThatWas: Thank you, I appreciate that you don't think my blogs are boring

Yes!!! Back to the Future!!! Awesome film!!! I have yet to play the first Uncharted. I keep waiting for the price to drop!!!
Posted Sep 15, 2009 2:52 pm PT
@tennis12master, I'm slacking.... and it's all Uncharted 2's fault!
Posted Sep 15, 2009 6:53 pm PT
@katamari: Yes, it is an awesome film, one of my favorites of all time. But do you mean a price drop for Uncharted, or the PS3? Because Uncharted is now only $30 because it's part of the greatest hits and well... You know that the PS3 price has dropped
Posted Sep 15, 2009 7:41 pm PT
@Ifnot: Yeah, that beta can be damn addicting. It's probably going to be the only game on PS3 I'll play until the full retail release comes out in October. Well, besides WipEout HD, that is.
Posted Sep 15, 2009 7:43 pm PT
@tennis12master, Yeah, same here... but I really need to get that platinum on Batman! And I should play some more Fat Princess too. Man, this is going to be hard choosing what to play plus, Batman is getting free DLC on Thursday I think.

Posted Sep 16, 2009 2:47 pm PT
Other people's loss if they don't want to read what's on your mind. That's what friends are for, right? I read 'em. Always...

Congrats on the platinum trophy. Swe-eeet!

I suck at jokes. I'll just have to wait for the answer.
Posted Sep 16, 2009 4:01 pm PT
@Ifnot: Heh, well you better get that Platinum sooner or later! Any idea on what the DLC could be? @KoM-EgeN: Nooooooo

@aaronobst: Yes, it is an understatment... Hopefully I don't flunk all of my classes because of this game!
Posted Sep 16, 2009 4:56 pm PT
@KriobaKeys: Yeah it's a lot of fun, I started the Uncharted 2 online multiplayer beta just a couple days ago and I'm having a blast. @katamari: Welcome! Free to help any time

@tprezzy12: Thank you And I'm not too good at answering jokes either... but I'll post the answer soon.
