Well since I know nearly all of you are tired of reading my boring blog posts about life and stuff that's happening, I decided to make a post about gaming. I'll take a break from those other kinds of posts for some time, since I can just tell they bother some people. So.. As the title suggests, this blog will be about Uncharted 2. If any of you PS3 owners reading this have not yet played Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, then get your butt over to your local game store and buy a copy. It's only $30 now since it's a greatest hit! ![]()
Yeah, but anyway... Uncharted 2. I have to say, this game looks like it will blow every game of this generation out of the water. While I was a little suspicious at first, that Naughty Dog decided to incorporate a online multiplayer functionality to the experience (since Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was solely single-player based, you can see why I was suspicious) after playing the online multiplayer beta myself and experiencing it first-hand, I can say that this game will be fun alone, and with friends. It will appeal to newcomers looking for a great online multiplayer experience, and it will appeal to fans of the original (Like I) with an engaging storyline, new characters, amazing visuals, and much improved gameplay.
One of the things I liked most about the first Uncharted game was the soundtrack. The opening soundtrack still gives me shivers every time I pop in the disc, until leaving shortly afterwards because the enemies are too damn difficult on 'Crushing' difficulty. This is an issue I feel Naughty Dog must fix; give Nate a little bit more health on the toughest difficulty, so that I don't end up dying after two or three pistol rounds. That can get annoying after a while.
But still, this game looks absolutely amazing. I recently started playing the first Uncharted on Crushing difficulty (I'm goin for Platinum) and I am still amazed, to this day, by the visuals. And this game was made in 2007. If I didn't know any better, I would've thought this was Uncharted 2, judging the visuals.
But, visuals are of course not everything to the game experience. When I first started the mutliplayer beta for Uncharted 2, the controls felt clunky and out-of-wack. But after a couple online matches, I started to realize that there was just something wrong with my controller.
And then after sorting through technical difficulties, I realized that they hugely improved the gameplay aspect of Uncharted. A problem I felt in the original was that Drake sometimes felt too light, light like a feather. But they've adressed this issue, and added some weight to each of the characters. Overall, I'm very impressed. There's just one thing I am a little weirded-out by. Jumping.
When Drake jumped in the beta, (or for that matter, if any of the characters jumped) they jumped in a very.. Awkward fashion. If you see some gameplay videos, you'll know what I'm talking about. Albeit it is a minor issue, I hope Naughty Dog sorts that out.
Well, I'll finish this blog entry. I hope some of you read it... And for those who made it to the end, congratualtions. You have earned yourself the delight of hearing a really bad joke, the answer to which I will reveal after everyone has tried to guess it. Here we go:
"How do cars always feel?" (How do they feel, meaning what is they're mood or expression)

Back To The Future!
-Peace, Matt
Oh yeah and by the way, I got the Platinum trophy in Batman. I'm not sure if I mentioned that in my previous blog.
Comments
Besides, I haven't played Uncharted so I had nuthin' to contribute to the rest of the blog.
If I ever go current gen, I'll have to check out the Uncharted series. Hmmm... how do cars feel?
I think some cars feel automatic, systematic, and hyyyyydromatic... or maybe that's just grease lightning.
I'm poor so I can't afford a PS3, even with the price cut. Oh, well. Something to look forward to for next year.
What other games you looking forward to tennis12master?
@Aberinkulas: Think of as a slightly lighter feel to Gears of War, with much more fluid movement. At least, that's what it is in my opinion (In a nutshell). @mitu123: Awesome, can't wait to see you online
@johnsteed7: I doubt it will be tacked-on, there seems to be a lot of potential for the multiplayer, but I do agree with you. I hope the single-player is still just as good as the original, and possibly better. @AlmightyMax: Yeah I liked Uncharted 1 also, it was quite the thrill ride.
@tyzwain: Well, that's kinda a difficult question... There's a lot of games I'm looking forward to, but I can't necessarily purchase this year, because there's too many. But here's the few that I know I'll be buying sometime in my life: Uncharted 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Mario&Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, and possibly Heavy Rain. There's a few others, but I can't remember them right now.
Come October I'll be going into hibernation
Congrats on the platinum trophy. Swe-eeet!
I suck at jokes. I'll just have to wait for the answer.
@aaronobst: Yes, it is an understatment... Hopefully I don't flunk all of my classes because of this game!
@tprezzy12: Thank you
