All they needed was for ONE man to beat him. God this movie was terrible.

Just One of the Guys

I caught this movie the other night. For me it was a fun flick. It revolves around a young female journalist who because she doesn't get her internship feels that she is not being taken seriously because she is a very beautiful woman. So she decides to do her own kind of research as a man. She gets help from her all too horny brother to teach her the ways of a man. Hilarity ensues. She falls in love and has to decide if she will tell the dude she's in love with that she's a woman.

It's a 1985 movie. I saw it in 87 or 88.

Totally Spies

This cartoon was based around 3 really girlie girls that become spies in their spare time. They are high school students who are really rich girls. The way they solve the crimes and things that they do are interesting.

It reminded me of Charlie's Angels due to how ditsy they were at times. Also instead of Charlie they had Jerry. He was a British dude who supplied all of their gadgets. It's a shame I never got to see how the series ended. Apparently they had a season 5 (they were in college) and they also had comics made for them in Sweden.

pete.

I've been listening to him a lot lately. I got their album for free in 2001. Apparently they vanished off the face of the earth after 2001. Not only is the album lovely, it was a refreshing sound. I really wish that they'd release something new already. I can't find any info on them for a new album.

Mike Quackenbush

This dude is one of the best in the indies. Guess what he's not an ROH guy either. I know, I know, everyone and their mother thinks ROH is the best thing ever. They are good but they are not the be all end all to indy wrestling. This guy is in another company (CZW. Shut up about it just being all about violence) and he is also is the co-founder of the awesomeness that is CHIKARA Pro. It's all about fun and Lucha Libre over there. I'm hoping that one day they'll tour in NY so that I can catch them like tell him how awesome he is.

Just to show you how deliciously cool he is check these out:

"Master of a Thousand Holds", Mike Quackenbush Tribute

TPI 06 - Mike Quackenbush vs Claudio Castagnoli

RevPro: Mike Quackenbush vs Super Dragon

And now he's going to be a part of this young upstart of a company heralded by Gabe Sapolsky.

So he is ONE of the few who can do many versions of the almighty PileDriver. He also invents his own moves too. He's very quick too.

Barkley: Shut Up and Jam

You know how sometimes you have a game that stands out more than most? Well this ONE does for me. People who know me, know that I am a diehard basketball fan. And I am also a fan of the PF position. I played that position in high school. It's one of those positions that is not really talked about much. I'm not sure why. It's gritty position. To be able to box out that center or that other PF and pull down that rebound or throw in that put back, is not easy. This game had it all. It had smack talk, the hard elbow shots, angry rebounding and more. why it was received so poorly is beyond men.

Remember my TV show premiere list?

Well I saw ONE show and my God was it awful!

Oh Good Lord do I want my brain and time and eyes back. I don't care if it was the highest rated show in CW history. the show was awful. The acting was terrible save for Ian Somerhalder. I refuse to give it another try. I hope my brain cells are better.

Thank God for Smallville on Friday. They might have the time of death slot. If fans really want to see it, show CW how much you care and represent hard for this show that has seemingly lost it's way.

Be well everyone! There was a theme in this blog, can you guess what it was and what movie is represented in the header?

That's easy. Over The Top. Nothing can be more so than that movie.

I remember watching totally spies and one day it was gone.

Quackenbush is really good. I haven't seen that much of Chikara outside of his matches and him and Dragon Gate USA are rule. The first show was really good and I hope they keep it up.

I've lost basically most of if not all of my interest in ROH. I'm starting to get into PWG now.

Oh, yeah, Totally Spies. I remember that show. I thought it was a cartoon version of CA, too. I did see how it ended, but I won't spoil it for you. And Nine is in the header, right? I wonder if it's any good.

Just one of the Guys...that is a classic for me. It's a hilarious movie. The most funny character is the journalist's brother. I'm also a basketball "nut", but when I was in my late teens, I played mostly the "2 spot". All I needed was a couple of inches of space to hit the "J". Man, basketball was my life in those days. I loved every minute of it.

I actually like Vampire Diaries, LOL! I love anything to do with vampires though! I think the 2 vampires are pretty hot! typical teen drama though!

I liked "Totally Spies", not the manliest thing i guess but it reminded me of an awesome show i used to watch called "She Spies". I havent watched the latest episode of "Vampire Diaries" yet but through two episodes im not hating it. Its a bit campy but that was expected. i dont think the acting is horrible but definitely not great; im basiclaly sticking it out to see where it goes. Later .

Man, I remember some of this stuff! 0_o

Nice blog did you see the moon light? it's a TV show i like it

Normally, vampires are a good concept. There are so many possibilities. However, Vampire Dairies is deplorable. If vampires were real, they'd probably have a nice snack on whoever writes that show. It would be ratings gold if they caught it on camera.

Totally Spies was underrated. I always hated how people complained because it involved girlie girls. Personally, I liked it.

Just One of the Guys - if you seen 1 of the movies like that you have seen em all
The vampire diaries - once again..if i havent heard of it it must be horrible..

Shut Up and Jam? Never heard of it. I've heard of Shaq-Fu though.

I've heard about Just One of the Guys. Doesn't she show the guy?

hart704, you are right sir. I always though eventually he would eat someone.
Posted Sep 26, 2009 9:57 am PT
thefanof, I haven't watched One Tree Hill in such a long time. I'm so lost. I pretty much gave up on it.

LadyInque, I agree. And the gadgets were so cool too.

LordKingboat, I've never played hockey. I can't balance too well on ice skates. I also don't enjoy hockey like most people. And there are Canadian basketballers and wrestlers too.

You're right, it's Over the Top. What a terrible movie. And there was a wrestler in there too.

EA_GUY, the same thing happened to me too. One day it was just no longer on the station I watched it on. Damn those people for not telling us.

I think Quack is so good. I watched his CZW stuff before his Chikara Pro stuff. He's a really good worker. And DGUSA is so good. I too hope the trend continues with rreat shows.

I noticed that a lot of former die hard fans of ROH have felt that way. Does it have to do with Gabe leaving the company? A bunch of people state that as a big factor in why they left. And PWG is so good.

Crulex1369, I'll have to find the series finale. There is no DVD release of Totally Spies that I know of. Stop dragging your feet people.
And it's not Nine...sowwy.

luc11044, her brother was hilarious. He was so horny all the time. The posters on the wall told his entire life story. He never got a girl.

I know the feeling of those 'J's in the face. You can defend the best shooter, but man that J is a killer when they hit it in front of you.

Sherasbear, I love my vamps too, but this one was just so boring and bad. Did you read the books too? I guess it's not for me.

MarWash, the way you say that about Totally Spies, then half the shows I watch are not the girliest things. I remember She Spies. I watched it when it aired. It was on at weird times. It was like the stupid sexier version of Charlie's Angels.

I don't think it's campy. I think it's just a bad show that's not for me. But this is CW.

Kakarot589, excellent!

syler4815162342, thanks. The show Moonlight aired at a time that I was watching something else. When it gets syndicated, I'll watch it.

DemonSlayerZea, I agree there. That show just screams 'stop it'. Good point. The fact that they were girlie girls made the show even more funny and interesting.

loggens, the way she told him at the end, might be different from other flicks. the sock in the crotch thing was funny though.
Stay away from Vampire Diaries.

Yagr_Zero , Shaq-Fu was a fun game. But that was fighting. This one was all basketball.

She shows him. And his reaction is priceless.

Just one of the guys I need to see it again with older eyes cause at that time I could've sworn she had huge boobs and I was like how did she hide those so well. I like vampire diaries but I fully admit Ian is carrying the show his evil big brother is worth it each week.
Posted Sep 26, 2009 6:38 pm PT
Its not because of Gabe leaving per say its do to the lack me not being excited for that much. Yeah there are matches that I want to see but I don't feel like spending $20 for 3-4 matches. For some reason I just lost interest in the product and the undercard for shows now are just there to take up time. The only shows I'm going to buy that are going to come out are Glory By Honor VIII and the Boston show. I have interest in DBD weekend.
Posted Sep 26, 2009 7:57 pm PT
Seen some or most of Totally Spies, until stupid Cartoon Network pulled it off...damn them. That is some of the stupid things Cartoon Network have been doing since they got reality shows going, since they been doing it on their Adult Swim block.
Posted Sep 27, 2009 12:17 am PT
It sounds like you've watched some crappy shows lately

I don't really watch a lot of TV anymore because the shows are usually terrible
Posted Sep 27, 2009 9:32 am PT
danharr, for me being the age I was when I saw it to the age I am now, it stood the test of time. And yes she did have some large breasts.

EA_GUY, thanks. Because a lot of people say that as their sole reason. I can understand someone who's followed the product for so long can get frustrated over it. I was the same way with the WWF, WCW, ECW and now TNA. Hence why I refuse to buy PPVs anymore.

I think it's all cyclical. I still think they need a national DVD distribution deal. If they can afford to be show on TV, I'm sure they can afford to be distributed in the US stores.
Posted Sep 27, 2009 2:11 pm PT
Cadefan22, they really need to stop doing that. It's upsetting really.

Cody13_2012, I've seen many. I mean many.
Posted Sep 27, 2009 2:12 pm PT
I think if ROH would have put some of their shows in FYE or Bestbuy I would get some of the shows.

I don't buy ppvs unless its Mania or the Rumble. Sometimes I get Summerslam but $30/$40 for something that is going to be most likely decent or good is not worth it. I sometimes get a group of friends a we put in $5-$10 each.

For wrestling as a whole I haven't spent that much $ this year. I usually spend a good amount but I haven't picked up many dvds and I haven't picked up that many t shirts either. I've been spending money that I would spend on wrestling on MMA. I've been a fan of MMA for about 4-5 years. I saw it during the early days and I didn't really get into it but for the last several years I've been obsessed with it. I've bought several DVDs and pay-per-views this year and it seems like most of my money is going to MMA instead of wrestling.

I may go to Wrestlemania XXVI so the WWE may get a good amount of cash from me. It just depends on if I can get tickets. I have the money so I will have to wait and see.
Posted Sep 27, 2009 4:59 pm PT
I have yet to take the plunge and get into any of the new series. Season One of Desperate Housewives was the last anything I followed...like you wrote about The Vampire Diaries, if it's that bad, I'll never get the time back. If it's good, I might get hooked, and I just don't have the time
Posted Sep 29, 2009 9:19 am PT
I remeber that barkley game how awsome
Posted Sep 30, 2009 8:31 pm PT
that picture from the one does that look like big show from wwe
and thanks for this last picture u got me into some really good bands
Posted Oct 1, 2009 6:51 am PT
EA_GUY, that's it right there. Shedding out all that money and to be disappointed is why I don't do it anymore. I'll watch a highlight, but at least 50% of the PPV has to warrant me purchasing the DVD.

I can't get into MMA. I like fighting, I do, but to see someone walk in circles for 3 minutes out of a 5 minute match is boring. I want action.

I like going to shows more than purchasing them. They don't come around her a lot. And MSG is way too much money.
Posted Oct 1, 2009 9:17 pm PT
millerem99, I've the same myself. I think I've been spoiled with some channels we got added onto DirecTV that makes me turn my nose up to some show.

And I unfortunately have way too much time on my hands. No new show has gotten me hooked yet.

Posted Oct 1, 2009 9:18 pm PT
westcoastwillam, they sure don't make good games like that anymore.

rebelway, he does look like Big Show, but it's not him. And you're welcome about the new bands.
Posted Oct 1, 2009 9:20 pm PT
Thanks to Twilight, I am officially sick of the vampire craze. I refuse to watch the new CW show about them too, and while I know one viewer loss is not going to make a difference in the face of hoards of screaming teenage girls sobbing in front of their TV sets at 8:00 on Thursday, I make my stand. I can't believe the network has Supernatural following that crap. (I get the whole thing with the idea that a "similar" theme will appeal to the audience, but no way VD--as I like to refer to it, hehe--is of the same quality as Kripke's stuff.) I blame them for Smallville's bump to Friday too...you know, in addition to the downhill script and plot.

You are correct on all points there sister.
