Great, great show.
You had George who I think was either a racist or just spoke his mind, owns a dry cleaners, moves on up to a great spot out of the ghetto.
Then you have Weezy the wife, who to this day I didn't know what she was there for.
Florence was the maid and was hilarious!
Then the you had Helen & Tom who were their friends, but George always made fun of Tom.
The door man was a guy wo always wanted money.
Put that all together and you've got a hilarity and semi-serious episodes.

AJ Benza did an excellent job as a host for this show.

Spenser for Hire

It's based on a series of books that I'll never read.
My mom got me into it.
He's a detective with morals who has a man called Hawk as his muscle.
Great show.
Died too fast.

Aired:
Original channel ABC

A Man Called Hawk

ab

It's a spin-off.
And like most spin-offs they are set up to fail.
The thing with this show is that we all know that Hawk is a bad ass, but he was too soft in this show.
He also was too nice and I guess the world wasn't ready for that.
But hey he was in Deep Space Nine though.
He's also one of the sexiest looking men that ever set foot on God's green earth.

Aired:
Original channel ABC
Original run January 28, 1989 – May 13, 1989

Intro: http://www.youtube.com/wa...LB5ZM

Just the Ten of Us

jttos

Remember the idiot coach from Growing Pains, well he had *gasp* a family.
Apprently, we were supposed to believe that this lovely woman actually had sex with him to spawn 8 kids.
Yeah, I guess so.
Funny show.
His overly hovercraft like insanity to protect his girls was great to see.
Hilarity alwayys ensued.

Aired:
Original channel ABC
Original run April 22, 1988 – May 4, 1990

Intro: http://www.youtube.com/wa...-xWoo

Parker Lewis Can't Lose

plcl

If you've ever seen Ferris Beuler, you'll like this show.
It's basically the same premise.
He think he can get away with anything in school.
I didn't know anyone like that in school.

Look closely and guy with the plaid shirt with his legs crossed was on an episode of The Golden Girls called "On Golden Girls" and was in one of my favorite movies "Just One of the Guys". He played the overly horny teen brother.

Aired:
Original channel Fox
Original run September 2, 1990 – June 13, 1993

I'm afraid that the only show from those that I recognize is Alex Mack. I don't remember too much of it though since I was really young at the time. I can't wait to see your next ten though. What I like about your list is that you're not going with the tried and true shows, you're actually reaching out to shows that are obscure, or to ones that I've never heard of at least.

I belive I watched 2 out of those.
Posted Apr 1, 2009 8:17 pm PT

lol. Name a superhero/villain that isnt into bondage... all that leather and heavy breathing, whips n chains... yeah!

Wow! there are some shows i have never heard of this time. Didnt think that was possible with all the tv ive watched. I did however, love "The Secret World of Alex Mack". Small crush on her aside, that show was ahead of its time. There are so many tv shows that have adopted the premise of hunting and experimenting on special people. That show was one of the first.

Looking forward to the next list, Later .

Hurricane1123 , that was a good show. And I watched a bunch of shows that no one really cared for. Some of it was good and come were awful. But they bring memories for me.

I am glad that you are enjoying my lists though. It might get you into watching some down the line on DVD sometime.

Darkknight313 , which ones.

MarWash, I'm convinced that the creators were into some of those things or at least watched a show, because it's so out there. The outfits alone tell a tale of the mind.

She was a such a pretty girl. And when I saw Ten Things I Hate About You, I yelled, "That's Alex Mack!" Of course I was alone in my remembrance.

Secret Agencies after smart kids or super kids always made me wonder if it were all true somehow.

I loved Silver Spoons and I remember Just the 10 of us. I think one of the girls on the show, Jamie Lunar, just signed on with All My Children!
Posted Apr 2, 2009 4:30 am PT
I enjoyed watching Alex Mac, I always thought it was cool how she could turn into a liquid and move around on the floor. I forget how the series ended though. With the game you're playing good luck with winning it all. Also in the songs your listening to list that's a One Piece image in the background right?
Posted Apr 2, 2009 7:12 am PT
Sherasbear , Silver Spoons was a good show. I wanted the arcade stuff he had. As for JTTOU, good to Jamie Lunar get an acting gig.
One of the other girls from the show was in the Nightmare on Elm Street Flicks and the awful New Nightmare one as well.
Posted Apr 2, 2009 9:51 am PT
romo70 , I don't remember how it ended myself. I recall her friend being cool though.
The skull thingy might be One Piece or it could be a punk thing, I'm not sure.

The only show I know on your list is The Jeffersons. But then again who doesn't know of The Jeffersons lol.
Posted Apr 2, 2009 10:39 am PT
You're so right.
Posted Apr 2, 2009 10:42 am PT
Parker Lewis was a great show, probably one of the first good shows the then-new Fox network had. It kind of lost its way after a while, but I guess that always happens. I especially liked that evil lackey the principal had. I watched Alex Mack sporadically, but did like it. I watched Silver Spoons, but hated it. Every girl in class thought Ricky Schroder was dreamy, so of course I had to wish him dead. And Just the Ten of Us...another forgotten classic. The two oldest Lubbock girls...damn. They gave me some pretty dirty thoughts.
Posted Apr 2, 2009 10:44 am PT
Yeah, I agree that center chick in the Female Furies picture looks like she's into S&M.
Posted Apr 2, 2009 11:16 am PT
I totally forgot about Alex mack I loved that show ,what's up with nick never putting those old shows on DVD
Posted Apr 2, 2009 12:51 pm PT
enervator . why do most shows lose their way? Do they just get bored with the format? The loser guy who was the lackey was too cool.

I hear you on silver spoons. The same thing happened when Fresh Prince came about and everyone loved Ashley and Hillary.

As for JtToU I was in love with the coach. Gotcha! I don't think any of those people on that show gave a happy pants dance.
Posted Apr 2, 2009 1:20 pm PT
theredrobin , I think they secretly are, much like the creators.

westcoastwillam , you know, I'm not sure. they really have dropped the ball on it.

Posted Apr 2, 2009 1:21 pm PT
I think sooner or later everyone's creative juices dry up, and what once worked just doesn't anymore. Same things happens in music. Or else a show is on for so long that eventually the audience gets bored, no matter how good it still is, and the writers need to make adjustments. They rarely seem to work, and instead tend to lead to "jump the shark" situations.
Posted Apr 2, 2009 1:55 pm PT
I freaking LOVE Mysteries & Scandals!

I had no idea anyone else ever watched that show!
Posted Apr 2, 2009 8:17 pm PT
enervator, you said it better than I could. That's why I liked that The Golden Girls went out on a high note.

yooperchild, I'm glad someone else knows what it was.
