Did you watch the Dunk contest? Did you because if you didn't, you missed creative minds at work. It's 2 days old, but it's still fresh in my mind. Dwight Howard and Gerald Green brought it. Yes they brought it in suitcases.

I was sitting with my sister and as Rudy Gay came up, I was wondering what he was going to do. We all know he has hops and things like that, but could he bring what he does in games to the dunk contest? No he could not. It's a shame too because it goes to show you that he's just another in the game dunker.

Now on to Dwight. His imagination ran wild with him. When he was setting things up, I was telling my sister he's got the cape, so he's going to fly like S-Man. She was wondering, what do you mean? He pulls the jersey off and he has the S-Man jersey on. Then he made a marker. I knew he was going to make some type of S-Man stance when he went up to dunk but I wasn't sure. Before that, his first dunk was off the chain. His S-Man dunk was really good. So what if he didn't "dunk" it. He threw it down. Great job there.

Gerald Green's B-Day dunk was hot. I thought he was going to dunk the ball and then pick it up off the rim all in one motion and give it to his sister or something.

But after Dwight's S-Man dunk it was over. But what was even better, was Dwight's change up dunk. Not only did he throw the ball off the backboard with one hand, then he used the other hand to dunk it. I literally ran across my living room into the kitchen screaming it's OVAH! My mom was wondering what was going on and then she saw and it and she was amazed.

The Dunk contest is officially back baby!

There will be a new game from these guys:

mk4

ign.com:

After the bloodbath of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (where the series' famous characters obliterated each other in a truly final showdown), MK begins anew with all-new characters, storylines, fighting s.tyle, and gameplay. Prepare yourself, mortal...

NOTE: Although this game has been officially confirmed as being in development, it has not been officially announced, and details of the game may change before it is finally released. It is planned for next-generation systems, but exact system release plans have not yet been locked down as to whether the Next-Gen Mortal Kombat will be released for this system. Please check back for official info.

I'm really hoping it does not suck like the last few. And that the weapons feature will not be there.

Thanks. Oh man I completely forgot. I'll do it now.

That was the best dunk contest in a while, the las couple has been terrible due to the lack of creativity. Not that it's there fault, after nearly 30 years of dunk contests, it's hard to find something new.
Posted Feb 18, 2008 9:36 pm PT
I totally agree. It was good stuff.
Posted Feb 18, 2008 9:38 pm PT
I didn't watch it, but I caught the highlights. I still wasn't too impressed though.
Posted Feb 18, 2008 9:48 pm PT
hmmm ... mortal kombat 5? whatever it is, i hope its gonna be good. all the MK games have been sucking recently ... IMO
Posted Feb 18, 2008 10:22 pm PT
orangemann327, really? How so.

xMeHRuNeSDaGoNx, i'm really hoping it does either because Street Fighter IV looks amazing ad they've been away for a while as well.

Dwight Howard owned the dunk contest, "IT'S OVA BABY!" (c) Kenny Smith

I'm too harsh of a critic I think. I'm expecting like double flips.
Posted Feb 19, 2008 5:42 am PT
The dunk contest was pretty flippin sweeeeet!
Posted Feb 19, 2008 5:50 am PT
I am glad that you are happy about Ric Flair. Also Hornswoggle is hurt and Finlay wants JBL.
Posted Feb 19, 2008 6:12 am PT
I didn't watch the Dunk contest, unfortunately.
Posted Feb 19, 2008 7:23 am PT
I didn't watch even though I'm somewhat of an NBA fan. I will find a way to see it since you have spoken highly of it.
Posted Feb 19, 2008 10:21 am PT
Orlando_Magic, yes he did and Kenny was on point with that statement too.
Posted Feb 19, 2008 10:31 am PT
orangemann327, have you been playing the NBA Street games, because I was using that as ideas for them to do things in the air.

SamReallyROXS, it sure was!

Cadefan22, anytime a legend like Flair gets in that deserves it, i', really happy. And that whole McMahon/JBL/Finlay/Hornswaggle
segment was stupid and too long.

HeavenNathious, that's ok.

hart704, I tried finding gifs for them, but to no avail.

Btw,the Nets/Mavs have finally been completed with Keith Van Horn instead of Devean George.
Posted Feb 19, 2008 10:44 am PT
Nice.
So KVH gets $4 mill just for showing up in the game for 30 days. I like that idea.
Now if only the East could do something to counteract the West moves.

The Dunk contest was cool. All the contestants were uber creative. In addition, it was cool to see all the other Hall of Famers hanging around... but where was Jordan?
Posted Feb 19, 2008 12:42 pm PT
Jordan, has he been a judge before.
I would have rather him because Karl Malone looked like he didn't want to be there.

Don't worry about it I found the whole event and now I have thoughts on it on my profile.

You know, I missed the dunk contest. I didn't think it would've been that good considering that the past couple were terrible.
Posted Feb 19, 2008 2:32 pm PT
My sister told me to watch it again this year because she thought it was going to be better than the past few and she was right.
Posted Feb 19, 2008 2:39 pm PT
Orlando Magic my home town team from the start. I forgot it was on but I saw the highlights of it.

Ric Flair going to the Hall of Fame about time. I got my tickets to WrestleMania24. My buddy going to the hall of cermony the night before. Time to get style'n and profile'n woooooooo
Posted Feb 19, 2008 4:30 pm PT
I didn't watch the dunk contest. And that Ibushi Kota is impressive.
Posted Feb 19, 2008 5:34 pm PT
sjrlost, see if you can catch the highlights of the contest.

Have fun at WM24. It should be a blast and don't forget the sunscreen and possibly an umbrella.
As for the HOF ceremony, tell your friend to dress nice...Flair and the others will be.

DemonSlayerZea, Ibushi is so good to watch. He is very fluid in his moves. And that Matrix thing he does is sweet as well that funk splash he does. Catch the highlights of the dunk contest is you want.
Posted Feb 19, 2008 5:56 pm PT
The Dunk is a bit overrated, In My Opinion. Can we play the game please, this does nothing but cheapen the sport.
Posted Feb 25, 2008 4:42 pm PT
How so?
Its an exciting part of the game. It's gets the crowd pumped up.
