The new cost of games is $60. Allright, that stinks but I can deal with it. Extra DLC online for more $, again still stinks, but if it's worth it you got me. Now they are selling "Special Edition" games for more money to get more unlockable content. Why isn't this just part of the regular game? Case in point, Rainbow 6 Las Vegas 2. For an extra $10, you get the bonus pack with unlockable guns. The interviews I can live with out. But what if I want the guns? Well, more money.

This is a scarey new tatic to get more money out of the customer. A tatic that I am not a fan of what so ever. Video games are still a pretty cheap form of entertainment if you actually divide the cost by how many hours you spend on the game. However, if the price keeps going up, you have to really stop and consider what games you want to buy. Instead of just buying a new game to check it out, you will have to do research to see if it's worth the price.

This latest trend has me spending more money on less video gaming. I shutter to think about the next gen of consoles.

Lol your blogs are allways so 'grrr' but a good read. I am not a fan of this 'tactic' either, if they want to release a decent expansion than fine that's fair. But I WILL NOT pay extra money just for an extra gun or an extra piece of armour or whatever, just a waste of money.

I agree, especially since the PC version of any given game would include new content for free, as a matter of right. Making X-Box or PS3 players pay extra for something that should already be in a given game is a dirty tactic, and it damages the relationship between gamers and Games Companies. People need to realise that we here in the console market are being fleeced by games companies playing on the need 'to have everything.'

I don't mind something that comes with an extras DVD bunged with documentaries and stuff, like COD, I payed for that disc willingly- however, if I got extra guns with which to go online and play with that other people that bought the launch game didn't get I'd be a bit pissed, not at the game, where I'd have an advantage, but at the games companies for the tactic itself. In saying that, gamers should clearly know better, since we've been getting mods for PC for many years now for free- Counterstrike started off as a free mod people seem to forget.

It's a case of gamers needing to be vigilant and companies cleaning up their act, bec ause sooner or later, they'll find themselves facing the same allegations of anti-competitive behaviour Microsoft themselves have been hit with.

Yeah CEs generally aren't worth the extra cash. The only one I've been compelled to buy is the MGS4 CE.
