It's time once again for everyone's favorite... the "level up" blog. It took me a little longer than normal to level up (curse you Mario Kart Wii and your addictivness), but I've manage to do it once again. Now, how about a few facts to commemorate the special occasion:

Now playing: Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures (Wii) and Crossword DS (NDS)

I somehow managed to earn not just one, but three shiny new emblems this past level, The first is my new favorite , and the last was the easiest to earn... I just happened to be in the right spot at the right time .

Arena of Brawlers!
The stage was set to hold an arena with the biggest, baddest, nastiest, Super Smash Brothers brawlers of all time. The participants of this the Fight or Flight tournament were crowned with this emblem.

Totally Gangster
From Liberty City to San Andreas, this user competed in GameSpot's GTA-themed trivia tournament. If you think you know GTA, chances are, this person knows it better than you do . . . or lives in the right place to participate.

I Wanna Rock
This user tuned in for the live broadcast of the Guitar Hero III tournament. Whether they love to watch tournaments or they can't get enough rock, we may never know.

Good job! How did the Brawl tourney go for you Taz? I imagine there were a lot of hardcore players since Melee had a really dedicated fan base.

Congrats Level 35 is a big level!
Posted Jun 14, 2008 12:26 pm PT
How do you get all those emblems? Is it somewhere announced? I'm stuck with a few miserable emblems for ages. And congrats with the level up
Posted Jun 14, 2008 12:40 pm PT

Posted Jun 14, 2008 1:57 pm PT
Congrats. I'm also killing time with Crosswords.
Posted Jun 14, 2008 2:54 pm PT
Oh noes, you're catching up to me. Congrats man. And those emblems look really cool. I didn't even know there was a Smash Bros. tournament.
Posted Jun 14, 2008 6:03 pm PT
congrats on moving up

Congradulations on your level up. I wish I could get a new emblem for participating in the Guitar Hero Contest... but alas... they only gave them to people who watched the finals!
Posted Jun 14, 2008 9:24 pm PT
Congrats on leveling up and on the three new emblems!
Posted Jun 15, 2008 6:59 am PT
Congrats on the emblems. I'm kinda bummed I didn't get the gta one, I was signed up for brain bust II but had a medical emergency that day. I'm a gta junkie so this one must have been fun.

i really should try for some emblems. It would be better then wasting my time collecting odd skin conditions. Buy hey, whats having a butt for if not for displaying your fluid filled pustules. At least thats what my grandma used to say. Wow, I was just going for absurd, but took a bad turn into gross and made a pit stop at disturbing. I really should erase this and start over, but as you are reading this now, you see i did not. So there you have it. Anyway, congrats on the upping of the level and the acquiring of the emblems
Posted Jun 15, 2008 10:47 pm PT
Congrats! I still stuck on the dreaded 20, but hopefully I will get off of it soon.

@ PAJ - Thanks mate ! I'm gonna guess that the action was fast and furious... but I'll never know, thanks to the horrible lag I was experiencing . I ended up with the lowest score in my match, but I had fun anyway.

@ Raven - Thank you . Your right, the good ones can be.
Posted Jun 16, 2008 2:09 pm PT
Sorry, that took a little longer than I expected... anyway, back to the comments.
Posted Jun 16, 2008 9:00 pm PT
@ LD - Thanks ! Your closing in on level 35 yourself, and I'm pretty sure you'll end up passing me.

@ tinoshke - Thanks Christine! If your interested in upping your emblem count, I'd suggest you might want to join The Emblems Union... sometimes they send out PMs regarding emblem availability. Either tonight after work, or tomorrow, I'll send you a PM myself with a few suggestions to get you started as well.
Posted Jun 16, 2008 9:13 pm PT
@ splinter_girl - Thank you ! I promise not to pass you... well maybe not on purpose . Your last couple of blogs didn't show up... I wonder why?

@ GuilSSJ - Thanks !
Posted Jun 16, 2008 9:21 pm PT
@ Allicrombie - Awww, poor stitches. So you signed up for the tournament, but did you actually participate? If so you should talk to somebody about that.

@ bluezy - Thanks ! It's a great game... it doesn't take a lot of concentration, and it's easy to pick up and put down when your on the go.
Posted Jun 16, 2008 9:30 pm PT
@ gohantech - Thank you sir! I don't think you and your level 39 have anything to worry about. If you look in Tournaments, which is found in the Features tab, you'll be able to see the broadcast they did of the finals.

@ zxv - Thanks ! Onward, and upward.
Posted Jun 16, 2008 9:39 pm PT
@ Sandpiper - Thank you ! Yeah, I had hoped my less than stellar performance in the tournament would earn me an emblem as well. But I finally found out... there were no emblems being awarded , since the tournament was held off site. The one I earned for watching the finals, was a complete shock , and it made a nice consolation prize for the disappointment mentioned in the previous breath.

@ Game-aholic - Thanks ! That's the most emblems I've ever gotten in a single level.
Posted Jun 16, 2008 9:48 pm PT
@ phoenyx - Thanks ! I saw your name on the list of players, I figured you were having some issues... I hope everything is okay? Somebody with your GTA experience level would have done extremely well in the competition .

@ porthand_jim - Umm, gee... what else can I say here? Thanks for sharing?
Posted Jun 16, 2008 9:58 pm PT
@ MsCortana - Thanks ! Metal Slime takes foorrreeeevvvvveeeeeerrrrrrr... but on the plus side, your more than half way through it .
Posted Jun 16, 2008 10:04 pm PT
I share because i love. I'm a giver.
Posted Jun 16, 2008 11:08 pm PT
Thanks Joe But I guess I won't be able to get some emblems because I don't live in the US (I mean with the time difference). For example : it's almost impossible for me to watch a show or a final of a tournament live.
Posted Jun 17, 2008 2:27 am PT
Hi, Joe. Congratulations on reaching level 35! Good for you.
Posted Jun 18, 2008 11:23 pm PT
I didn't comment in any of the other blogs (because it's late as hell right now and I'm about to go to bed). But I promise I will get to them later today. It's 2:25 in the A.M!

I have just been so busy...busy with nonsense.
Posted Jun 18, 2008 11:25 pm PT
@ porthand_jim - I'm lucky ... everybody should have a friend like you.

@ tinoshke - The start time works out good or me Christine... I'm 3 hours ahead, so I'm usually just getting in from work. You I think are about 6 hours ahead of me, which would mean most shows are starting at around 3 AM . Does Gamespot UK have any live broadcasts? Maybe that would be more convenient.
Posted Jun 19, 2008 8:03 am PT
It's the return of Jaye ... thanks for stopping by, even if it is just for a few minutes. You know the door is always open, so stop by when you've got a little more time.
Posted Jun 19, 2008 8:11 am PT
IMO, nonsense usually equals fun ... how about you, having any fun?
Posted Jun 19, 2008 8:16 am PT
I have been having fun, spending time with my friend and her kids. I've been like a kid, myself, for most of the week. I've been eating crazy things that are really bad for me and staying up late listening to music. I guess I'm trying to make up for how awful last week was. Nothing but depressing job searches.
Posted Jun 19, 2008 9:48 pm PT
There has been some familial nonsense, which is almost never good, but I've done a pretty good job at ignoring it.
Posted Jun 19, 2008 9:49 pm PT
Your entitled to a little fun Jaye... the last few weeks have been stressful for you. What's the craziest thing you've eaten lately? We took my parents to a wonderful restaurant on the Chesapeake Bay over this past weekend, my daughter and I had.... alligator . It's true what they say, it does taste like chicken.
Posted Jun 24, 2008 2:22 pm PT
I'm going to guess your referring to your little sis. BTW... ignorance IS bliss .
Posted Jun 24, 2008 2:24 pm PT
You ate alligator?!?! Excuse me for a minute..... *Gags....hurls* I don't think I'd have enough nerve to try that knowingly.

The craziest thing I ate wasn't too bad. I had chocolate ice cream smothered in chocolate sauce. Yummy. I also had tacos three days out of the week last week. I had them on Monday, after we saw The Incredible Hulk. I had homemade tacos on Wednesday because my mother made them for dinner. I had them again on Thursday because my other best friend (I have two) made them for dinner. It's sweet of you to take your parents to dinner. Awwwwww.
Posted Jun 27, 2008 8:20 pm PT
Ignorance is bliss if you're truly ignorant. I'm just doing my best to pretend that I am. There is very little drama with my little sister, meaning....no news from her/about her.... There is drama with other family members but this stuff usually dies down quickly. It will flare up again quickly and die down again. My family is retarded like that.
Posted Jun 27, 2008 8:23 pm PT
Woohoo! Rock on with the new bad arse emblems congrats.
Posted Jul 11, 2008 10:13 am PT
@ trystkl - Ain't they cool ! I love getting new emblems, they are my addiction here at GS... the more I get, the more I want .
Posted Aug 8, 2008 12:15 pm PT
Mmmmmm... tacos *drools*

I've also had shark and rattlesnake Jaye. The shark was cooked on a grill, like a steak, and was awesome . The rattlesnake was breaded and deep fried, which made it look almost like a hush puppy, but was nasty .
Posted Aug 8, 2008 2:26 pm PT
Something I've found out in my 40+ years on this earth... if you've got family, your gonna have drama . Luckily if the family bonds are strong, the drama is followed by... forgive, forget and move on.
Posted Aug 8, 2008 2:31 pm PT
Shark and rattlesnake?!?! And here I thought my parents were weird for loving to eat cow tongue, rabbit and octopus.
Posted Aug 9, 2008 11:54 pm PT
A lot has happened to me in the past few weeks and now I'm truly convinced that not only does my family dislike me....they don't even love me. I'm sure of it. Yes, "family" is synonymous with "drama".
Posted Aug 9, 2008 11:56 pm PT
I ate rabbit while I was in the Navy, but I've never had the chance since then . I would NEVER, EVER eat the other two items... I'd rather go hungry.
Posted Aug 12, 2008 7:50 am PT
How could anybody not like you? Your friendly , caring, intelligent, great sense of humor ... all very attractive and endearing qualities. Hang in there... your probably just going through one of those little rough patches that pop up every now and then in our lives to make things interesting .
