Weekly Special #1
These weekly special thingie magiggies are basically a way for me to keep track of my gaming and tell you whats up, for those who slightly care.
So about a week back I downloaded the Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack for 800 points. Now normally, I wouldn't do this. Ever. But the reason I bought it is the same as everyone else: more Nazi Zombies, although the multiplayer maps are nicer then I thought they'd be, lets go through them.

Nightfire
Nightfire is definitely my favorite map of the three, it has a hotel cluster/plaza feel to it. It has good sniping spots, which I like, but it isn't like other maps (Airfield, ect.) where you feel the snipers can always watch you, due to different alleyways and buildings to run through - this makes things feel a lot less cheap as you aren't instantly getting killed in many other maps, overall, this one has a nice feel to it.

Knee Deep
Knee Deep is basically a line of Japanese bunkers. There are a few sniping spots in this as well, but like Nightfire, it isn't overwhelming and doesn't allow snipers to overlook too much of the map. The one major problem I have with this is that it's too easy to turn a corner, run right into an enemy and get killed. This can be a good thing, if you have a hyperactive trigger finger. Also, a lot of times when you shoot at someone, they can get away easily, into some building or whatnot, but overall, a good map here.

Station
Station is a underground train station that's been bombed, so naturally, the map is very long and narrow. I like this map, it's just that it's just too... uneven. Running all the way t the other side takes awhile, and if you die, you have to spawn on the other side and it seems like a chore to go back again. If only they crushed the width down a bit and broadened it up, it probably would've been better.

Crazy Zombies
New Nazi Zombies. FUN AS HELL. Okee, so, this one takes place on the MP map, Asylum, in my opinion - it fits perfectly, due to the way the map is designed - it's basically symmetrical, and it was a very creepy vibe to it. With 4 players, you start separated in two teams of two - the ultimate goal is to make your way to the power switch located numerous doors away. This will reunite you with your teammates, and open up 'Perks-A-Cola' options, which give you perks like Double Tap, Sleight of Hand, Juggernaut, and a new one called Quick Revive. All of these are very useful. I personally love the new Zombies mode, there's a lot more to do and more routes to take and more strategies to use. It's a lot harder, but tons more fun than the first zombies.
Overall this Map Pack is great, lots of things to like here - but only worth buying if you love Nazi Zombies. The MP maps are nice, but lets face it, we all would've rather shelled out 400 points just for Nazi Zombies rather than 800 for the whole shabang. I admit, Treyarch's got something going good, Nazi Zombies is their path to making viel Geld (a coin for anyone that knows what it means).

The other game I played insanely this weekend was Gears of War 2, very surprisingly too. Me and three other friends randomly decided to try the new online with less lag and a new ranking system; we were instantly hooked into playing submission til about 4 in the morning. It's a lot of fun, but people are still cheap, nothing to stop that, and the meatflag (Chaps, Franklin, Hanley) was ALWAYS a complete ass to our team.

^^Rapege
For example, our bestest buddy Chaps hates us. An enemy locust could be running at him, unloading their weapon on him, and yet Chaps decides to kill us, who were further away, he says "OMFG IMMINENT THREAT!!! oh wait nawt rlly" *decapitates Carmine the power ranger* and instant "WTF" is heard from the victim. That happened quite a bit more than it should have.
But overall, this weekend was great, playing lots of Call of Duty World at War online (almost prestige
) as well as kicking buttocks in Zombie Asylum. Gears 2 was more amazing than ever, with awesome multiplayer and a bit of horde - lets say it rose my respect level for the game higher than it ever has been.
I've got Good Friday off this week so expect the next weekly special sometime next weekend.
Cheerio mates!

Personally I could care less about CoD: WaW and I haven't touched Gears 2... since like it came out, still going to hang on to it though. Anyways, I have off friday as well, and all next week, har har. L4D? or maybe some PDA Alien Hominid action? I got it, since it was only 5 bucks, couldn't resist. Just invite me if you want to play.
Yeah, the Nazi Zombies map should have been sold separately.
