Gametrailers.com came out with a list of their top 10 most anticipated games of E3. I'm going to share my thoughts on each.
10. Lost Planet
This game was already on my list of anticipated games. (information below is from my post "So Psyched.")
"Set within the merciless frozen tundra of a hostile planet, humans struggle for survival as conflicts arise between man, the surrounding indigenous creatures and the monstrous beings that have invaded. With a gripping single player campaign and numerous multiplayer modes, Lost Planet promises to deliver an intense cinematic game play experience when it is released next winter."
Lost Planet is an 3rd person action/shooter being produced by Capcom, the company that has produced an endless amount of titles including the Resident Evil series. From what I can tell you play as a character that can't remember who is he, but does know that he can fight. This character uses "Vital Suits" that are basically sudo-mechs, to fight on this planet. From the videos and screenshots I get a little reminiscent of Pitch Black, which is great.
9. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
The lost anticipated Zelda game! Ah, I remember years ago when Ryan told me about this game and how when fans saw the trailer for this game, they cried. I, however, didn't cry, but I was exited, it was a chance for me to redeem myself for missing out on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. But it's been so long, I just hope the game can live up to the hype.
8. Resident Evil 5
IT'S A ZOMBIE!!! Oh how I love Resident Evil games. Whether or not your scared out of your mind or running from a "track zombie" (inside joke), you got to love playing these games. There has been so many copies, but in my opinon, the Resident Evil series has held its spot at the top. Resident Evil 4 however, deviated from the normal style of Resident Evil games to give their fans a new take on the series. While I thought it was a big change, it wasn't bad. I am not sure whether or not I would want them to keep this style in Resident Evil 5, but I'm thinking they well. Either way, the only way to find out more, is to wait till E3.
7. Redsteel
I had not heard of this game, seeing as it's a Wii title. I'm not a fan of waving around a controller like a fool in front of my T.V. but...wii wiill sii.
"Red Steel is a first person action game set in modern day Japan, from the makers of Prince of Persia and Far Cry."
6. Killzone
When I first saw the advertisement on television for the first Killzone I was all psyched to buy it. Then I heard it wasn't that great from friends so I decided to just save my money. Now, Sony is at their old tricks again of showing people pre-rendered videos to suck us in. This E3 may shed some light on Killzone, but either way, I don't think I'll be picking it up.
5. Spore
Oh gheez, Spore. I made a huge post about spore a while back.
I can't wait to hear more from this game!
4. Gears of War
My number two game right now, behind Chromehounds. I already posted about this one. (information below is from my post "So Psyched.")
"A third-person tactical shooter from Epic, running on the Unreal Engine 3. Gears of War thrusts gamers into a deep and harrowing story of humankind’s epic battle for survival against the Locust Horde, a nightmarish race of creatures that surface from the bowels of the planet."
Ooo, another 3rd person shooter. Gears of War has been on my "must have" list ever since I saw the first trailer. http://media.xbox.gamespy.com/media/747/747891/vids_1.html That video says it all. The game includes a teamwork aspect, as well as voice recognition and a lot of strategic elements.
3. Wii's Mario Title?
Honestly, I don't really care about what this title IS until I see it. I'm not a big Mario fan and unless it's a new Mario RPG, I really could care less. Also, I'm probably not getting Wii, so...
2. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
I haven't been following the MGS series since I picked up my XBOX. I bought Snake Eater, used, just to try it out. I didn't like it much. After playing games like Splinter Cell, I really don't much care about this series, even though, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, is one of my favorite games of all time.
Plus I mean, hell, the new "Snake" looks like a grandpa.
1. Halo 3
When Ryan first mentioned Halo 3 was going to be shown off at E3, I wasn't that psyched. I said, I really don't care about finishing the story of Halo 2 and I really don't care about the multiplyer because people over play Halo games and it's just weird online.
Anyways, shortly after that conversation, I decided that I would play through Halo 2 again. I payed close attention to the story and I found that it was good, and the cliffhanger at the end got me. So now, more then ever, I'm looking forward to hearing about Halo 3. It's not my number one game, but it's up there.
