I know I made one of these a year or two ago. I think I did atleast...But opinions change and I probably don't have the same choices as before. Besides I have a lot of new games. So I present to you the 2009 Edition of my 25 favorite games.

25.Kirby Canvas Curse

I actually didn't like Kirby Canvas Curse at first I can't remember why, but I picked it up again and I loved it. It's a great pick up and play game and the controls are perfectly suited for the DS. It couldn't be done on any other system it's a great showpiece for how the DS can enhance gameplay.

24.Galaxian

My dad used to have an old Galaxian arcade machine in our house. It broke a while ago, but I had a lot of fun with that game. It's just like Space Invaders and can be very addictive to play.

23.Mario Kart 64

I think this is one of the greatest multiplayer games of all time. Personally I got tired of Mario Kart a while back, but it's always fun to play every once in a while with the right people.

22.Bully

I really liked the setting and characters in this game. It had a really interesting story and I liked the missions a lot.

21.X Men Legends

What a cool game this was. Finally a cooperative X Men experience. Or maybe just the first good one. I played through this game several times it was one of the first non Smash non Pokemon games I was really hooked on.

20.Advance Wars Dual Strike

Who knew what looks so simple on the surface was actually such a deep game. This is the only Advance Wars game I've played, but I can't imagine why I'd need another. There is so much to do in the game it's overwhelming.

19.Portal

I would count the whole Orange Box but that wouldn't be fair. Portal stands out for me. It's not a long game at all you can complete it in about 2 or 3 hours, but it is so funny and brimming with personality it's hard to ignore. And the puzzles themselves are brilliant thanks to the portal gun, try the advanced maps.

18.Final Fantasy X

Final Fantasy X is a very good traditional jrpg. But the reason it's great is the story.

17.Super Mario Bros. 3

To be completely honest I've never really gotten past World 3 in this game but it's hard to ignore on my list. Super Mario Bros. 3 is so much fun and features the best level design in all the sidescrolling Super Mario games.

16.Pokemon Gold/Silver

A few years of my life can be summed up with the word "Pokemon". I played the hell out of Red and Blue. Kind of like how everyone else on the planet did. Silver/Gold was a huge improvement over Red/Blue and had me and my buddy hangin out trying to catch em all for entire days. I took my gameboy everywhere!

15.Dead Space

This is a new game for me in fact I just completed it a few hours ago. But I cannot resist putting it on my list. To me it's one of the most flawless games I've ever played. The atmosphere, the sound, the nongimped gameplay. It's the way Resident Evil 5 should have been controlwise and it's a much scarier experience than any Resident Evil game I've played. The one major issue is it has nothing more to it than a single player game, but I easily got over that. This can only rise in the ranks.

14.Age of Empires II

Okay along with Smash Bros. and Pokemon and maybe Guitar Hero this is still probably my most played game to date. I actually havn't played it in ages (hehe) though and could use a refresher. I really like real time strategy and this game is why.

13.God of War II

God of War was one of the best games on the ps2 so a sequel could have easily been a disappointment. Especially since God of War II wasn't upgrading hardware to the ps3. What we got though was a game bigger and badder than the first game in every way. In essence, the perfect sequel.

12.Guitar Hero II

Nowadays I am done with music games. I can't get excited for them anymore and they are costing more and more money. But back in 2006 when the series was still fresh, Guitar Hero II was there. And what an addicting game it was. I never could finish Jordan on expert though.

11.Paper Mario

This was tough to choose since all 3 Paper Mario games are fantastic. Actually all Mario RPGs seem to be. But when it came down to it I had to choose the first one for having the best characters and I guess just being the first to do it.

10.Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess

I can't count Ocarina since I never got far into it so this was a toss up between the Zelda games I have beaten. Twilight Princess vs. Wind Waker. It was close, they are each amazing in their own ways and I'd like to award them both. But when it comes down to it I give the position to Princess because Windwaker's sailing got annoying sometimes. I'm still waiting on a dream Zelda game.

09.Metroid Prime 3 Corruption

I've always said the first Metroid Prime was the best (and for its time it definitely was), but going back and playing Metroid Prime 3 this summer made me rethink that. A lot of the backtracking is gone from Metroid Prime 3 and it makes it a more enjoyable experience. Add that to the always incredible atmosphere and always brilliant puzzles and you have one of my top ten games of all time.

08.Street Fighter IV

I guess I just really like the original fighting game cast. The characters all have lots of personality even if the story doesn't show it much. I love the mechanics behind the game.

07.Ratchet and Clank Up Your Arsenal

The Ratchet and Clank games are all about inventive weapons and an amusing story. I don't think it was ever done better than in Up Your Arsenal. Upgrading weapons is genius and I don't think it's ever been done better than Ratchet and Clank.

06.Bioshock

Has maybe the best setting in a game of all time. It's often cited as one of the few games that define the business as art. Add to this setting a great plot full of twists, Plasmids, upgradable weapons, and cinematic gameplay moments that immerse you in Rapture and you have one of the best games of all time.

05.Okami

I loved Okami and it's art and the characters and the thrill of running as a wolf and of course the paint brush mechanic. It's a bit like Zelda, but it's more than that. It does its own thing and I can't get enough of it.

04.Chrono Trigger

This is my favorite videogame story. I think of it as the pinnacle of jrpgs. This is how characters should be, this is what the plot should be, this is how the gameplay should be. I suppose that makes it a bit of a late archetype.

03.Resident Evil 4

Awesome. This game was such a thrill. I'm having trouble explaining my logic for this choice, but I think it's pretty understood that this is one awesome game.

02.Super Mario 64

I was very tempted to choose Galaxy instead of Mario 64, but this is the first game I really really liked and I say it's the game that got me into videogames. I have better memory of this 13 year old game than I do of most new ones. So although Galaxy may be better, Mario 64 is the one that will always be in my heart. (I know that sounds gay lol)

01.Super Smash Bros. Melee

And just like last time no surprises here. This just never gets old for me. Brawl is almost as good and has the benefit of much more content but the more offensive fighting in Melee wins.

Honorable Mentions: some games I really like that didn't quite make the list, this is in kind of a sloppy order so the numbers aren't especially literal here

Wave Race Bluestorm
Prince of Persia The Sands of Time
Soul Calibur II
Grand Theft Auto San Andreas
Goldeneye 007
Donkey Kong Country
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
Halo 3
Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow
Tetris
Peggle
Luigi's Mansion

There are so many more games to play and this list changes quite a bit.

Your top 10 is awesome, I'd just throw SFIV outta the door and replace it with Persona 4 or Guilty Gear X2#R. You've got a good eye for games, gotta admit that. I too think Melee>Brawl, I like the faster action.
