Just one more day till I drive up to Nashville and watch the U.S. U-23 team play against Honduras for the Olimpic Qualifier finals. This wasn't the match that I wanted to see the U.S. play in, but now it's just a matter of just being able to watch them. I still find it shocking that Mexico didn't make it to the finals, actually more shocking that they didn't make it to the 2nd round. The only person Mexico has to blame is Hugo Sanchez...enough said about that! The U.S. shouldn't have any problem winning this last match, since we beat Honduras in group play, but I'm still hoping to go and watch an exciting game. If anybody plays Fifa 08, then hit me up to play because lately I've gotten bored of Call of Duty 4 and just been playing soccer online.
Just yesterday I purchased my ticket for the third place and championship game(doubleheader) for the Olimpic Qualifyer. If everything plays out the way we want it, the US and Mexico squad will face eachother in the final game. This is such a big deal for me considering I grew up watching these two teams play against one another. Considering as well how big and deep the rivalry goes. I know some of my friends will hate me for going and supporting the US, along with my parents. Me, I could care less, I'm gonna go watch a great game, see some great players, and have one or more buurs.
Man I can't wait for this Saturday...I'm seriously amped for the opening game this weekend. Texas kicks off their 2007 season this Saturday against Arkansas State. More good news for us, is the fact that Limas Sweed is good to go from his pre-season injury. I'm counting down the days till the Longhorns stampede through the Indians in Austin... Texas Fight!!!
