I thought i'd be fun to go through the 155 or so games i've played over my many years and see how i've done. This isn't a set in stone list as i've been playing games since the Atari 2600 and the Commodore 64 and that's just too many to count or remember.
Anyways i'm sitting at around 44% not taking into consideration games that really have no ending (sports games, Brain age, WOW). I gotta say i'm pretty impressed. I really thought it might be a little lower. The past little while with the PS2 and Wii haven't gone so well but i'm starting to find my stride again.
Lets see if I can make it up to 48-50% by the end of the year. Thinking about the number of games that would take is really taxing my math skills so i'm not even sure if that could be a possibility. Maybe I should strive for 45% !!
So I just finished Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. The first Zelda game I've beaten since Ocarina of Time and it got me thinking. Zelda is just a big puzzle game!
Yes it has enemies to fight but there very sub-sequential to the whole process. You need to collect 3 items by going to a temple, figuring out how to get to the end of the temple, find the item you need and beat the boss. Basically what we saw in Z & W but a bit more hands on and some enemies that you could or could not fight.
Changing up the Zelda formula to a more puzzle orientated one could be a step in the right direction. I know it would piss off a ton of people but when you think of it Zelda's starting to get pretty stale.
Until GDC I have had no intrest in the the Xbox 360. But seeing Castle Crashers and Too Human makes me want to own one. Is spending $400 for 2 games really worth it.....
I can only dream that they can port them over to the PS3 or at least give me similar gameplay styles.
