[the setting of the story is a while from the time as the series and it is about Kai's life in the military and it also describes how that Draco and kai are the only soldiers left to have had cybernetic enhancements it even features appearances by Taro and Akata. Sorry about the rest of you, but those two were the starting force to the RPG]
Year: (i don't know the date but I hear that it is 10,000 years into the future so I am guessing this) 12001
"Contact. All teams stand by: enemy contact, my postition"
Kai knew there were probably more than a hundred soldiers- cybernetic motion sensors were off the scale. He wanted to see them for himself, though; his training made that lesson clear: "Machines break. Eyes don't."
The four soldiers that composed Blue Team covered his back, standing absolutely silent and immobile in their body armor. Kai used one of his abilities to see through the rock from which he used as cover. On the other side he saw a valley with eroded rock walls and a river meandering through it... and camped through the banks as far as he could see were Unggoys.
The Convent used these stocky aliens as cannon fodder.
They stood a meter tall and wore armored enviorment suits that replicated the atmosphere of their frozen homeworld. They reminded Kai of biped dogs, not only in appearance, but because of their speech-even with the new translation software-was an odd combination of high-pitched squeaks, guttural, and growls. They were about as smart as dogs, too. But what they lacked in brainpower, they made up for in sheer tenacity. He had seen them hurl themselves at their enemies until the ground was piled with their corpses.
These Unggoys were unusually well-armed: needlers, plasma pistols, and their were four plasma cannons. Those would be a problem.
One other problem: there were easily a thousand of them.
This operation had to go off without a hitch. Blue Team's mission was to draw out the Convent rear guard and let Red Team slip through in the confusion. Red Team would then plant a HAVOK tactical nuke. When the next Convent ship landed, dropped its shields, and started to unload its troops, they'd get a thirty-megaton surprise.
Kai went back to normal vision and took a step back from the rock wall. He passed the tactical info along to his team over a secure com channel.
"Four of us," Akata whispered over the link. "And a thousand of them? Poor odds for the little guys."
"Akata," Kai said, "I want you up with those rocket launchers. Take out the cannons and soften the rest of them. Taro and Linda, you follow me up-we're on crowd control. Draco: you get the welcome mat ready. Understood?"
They all nodded
"On my mark," Kai crouched and readied himself. "Mark!"
Akata leaped gracefully atop the ridge-three meters straight up. There was no sound as she landed on the limestone.
She hefted one launcher and ran along the ridge-she was the fastest soldier on Kai's team. He was confident those Unggoy wouldn't be able to track her for the three seconds she'd be exposed. In quick succession, Akata emptied both of the launcher's tubes, dropped one, and fired the other rockets just as fast. The shells streaked into the Unggoys' formation and detonated. One of the stationary guns flipped over, engulfed in the blast, and the gunner was flung to the ground.
She ditched the launcher, jumped down-rolled once- and was back on her feet, running at top speed to the fallback point.
Kai, Taro, and Linda leaped to the top of the ridge. Kai switched to infared to cut through the clouds of dust and propellant exhaust just in time to see the second salvo of rockets strike their targets. Two consecutive blossoms of flash, fire, and thunder decimated the front ranks of the Unggoy guards, and most importantly, turned the last of the cannons into smoldering wreckage.
Kai and the others opened fire with their assualt rifles and they tore into the aliens. Confusion reigned as the wounded Unggoy yelped in pain.
Finally, the Unggoys realized what was happening-and where this attack was coming from. They regrouped and charged en masse. An earthquake vibration coursed through the ground and shook the porous stone beneath Kai's boots.
The three soldiers exhausted their AP clips and then they switched to shredder rounds. They fired into the tide of creatures as they surged foward. Line after line of them dropped. Scores more just trampled their fallen comrades.
"Inbound Convent air support," Draco reported over the COM link. "ETA is two minutes Kai."
"Roger that," he said. "Taro and Linda: maintain fire for five seconds, then fall back. Mark!"
The Unggoy were three meters from the wall. Kai tossed two grenades. He, Taro, and Linda stepped backword off the ridge, landed spun, and ran. Two dull thumps vibrated along the ridge. The squeals and barks of the incoming Unggoy, however drowned out the noise.
Kai and his team sprinted up the half-kilometer sandstone slope in thirty-two seconds flat. The hill ended abruptly-a sheer frop of two hundred meters straight into the ocean.
Draco's voice crackled over the COM channel: "Welcome mat is laid out Kai. Ready when you are."
The Unggoy looked like a living carpet of steel-blue skin. Some ran on all all fours up the slope. They barked and howlded, baying for the soldier's blood.
"Roll out the carpet," Kai said to Draco.
The hill exploded-plumes of sandstone and fire and smoke hurtled upward.
The soldiers had buried a pattern of mines earlier that morning.
Then, five Convent mechs appeared over the ridge.
"New contatcs. All teams, open fire!" Kai barked.
The soldiers immediatly fired on the alien mechs. Bullets pinged from their armor.
The fire got the aliens attention, however. Lances of fire slashed from the guns of the mechs.
Kai dove and rolled to his feet. Sandstone exploded where he stood only moments before.
The mechs screamed over their heads-then banked sharply for another pass. "Taro, Linda: Theta Maneuver," Kai called out.
They regrouped at the edge of the cliff and clipped onto the steel cables that dangled down the length of the rock wall.
"Did you set up the mines with fire or shrapnel?" Kai asked
"Both," Taro replied.
"Good." Kai grabbed the detonators. "Cover me."
The mines were never meant to take down flying targets; but they had to adapt. Another tenet of their training: adapt or die.
The mechs formed a flying V and swooped toword them, almost brushing the ground.
The soldier jumped backword off the cliff-guns still blazing. Kai jumped too, and hit the detonators.
The ten mines exploded and the soldiers slammed into the side of the cliff-the steel cables they attcahed were twanged taut.
A wave of heat and pressure washed over them. Then, five flaming mechs hurtled over their heads and into the ocean.
They rapelled down and met up with Akata and Draco.
"Red Team reports mission completed, Kai." Akata said. "They send their complements."
"it's hardly going to balance the scales," Taro muttered and kicked the sand.
Kai had nothing to say to that. It wasn't his job to balnce scales. Only to win.
"Akata," Kai said. "Get me an uplink.
"Mission accomplished, Captain de Blanc," Kai reported. "Enemy neutralized."
"Excellent news," the captain said. He sighed and added "But we're pulling you out kai."
"we're just getting warmed up down here sir."
"Well, it's a different story up here. Move out for pickup ASAP"
"Understood sir." Kai killed the link and told his team, "The party's over guys. Dust-off in fifteen.
As they boarded the dropship and took their seats, Akata took off her helmet and ran her fingers through her hair.
"It's a shame to leave this place," she said and leaned against the porthole. "There are so few left."
Kai stood by her and took her hand to comfort her.
"There will be other places to fight for," he said.
"Will there?" she whispered.
Even at ten years old, the soldiers of Blue team had seen more battles than a soldier twice their age. And Kai knew that each and every one of his team had the same feeling. A ship or house wasn't just home.
The battlefield was.

Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura stood in a line with 21 other genin. "To all of you young ninja who have graduated to the rank of Chunin, congradulations!" said the Hokage with pride. He continued to speak about how hard it is to be a chunin when Naruto nudged Sakura on the shoulder.
"After all this is over why don't us go to the ramen shop and celebrate? My treat!" said Naruto with a grin.
"Sounds good! Sasuke?" Sakura asked.
"I don't care." Said Sasuke cooly.
Just then, a Jonin appeared beside the Hokage and whispered something in his ear.
" Very well. Chunin, it appears that a group of ninja has attacked the village. Neji, you shall be the leader of the Chunin on this mission. Remember your training, and make this village proud. Dismissed!" the Hokage yelled.
"YES SIR!" Said the Chunin in unison as they disappeared into the bulding to plan their attack.
All the Chunin gathered to hear Neji's attack plan.
"Ok, we will have 7 squads of 3 people. You will be paired with your old Genin teammates. Meaning that I will be paired with Tenten and Lee, Naruto will be paired with Sasuke and Sakura, and Shikamaru will be paired with Ino and Choji. Do you all get the idea?" Neji said. They all nodded in agreement.
"Ok now that we are all on the same page, we must now make a attack plan, Naruto's, Ino's, and my group will be on the front lines, providing a distraction for the attackers. Kiba's and Kim's [i'm just making up names as I go along!] group will flank on the right, while Hakawa's and Ohichi's squads will flank on the right. Ok if everyone understands,lets go."
And just like that, the plan was underway. The groups parted halfway to the villiage gate which was the starting point of the battle. As Sakura was walking beside Naruto and Sasuke, she had a worried look on her face. "Anything wrong Sakura?" Naruto.
"Oh, I'm just a little worried is all." Sakura said meekly.
"Don't worry, when your with your friends, you don't need to feel afraid or worried." said Naruto with a big smile on his face.
Sakura was about to thank him when Neji ordered them to halt and to take cover. Neji and his group hid behind some debris while Ino and her group hid in the rooftop. Sakura's group hid behind the side of a building. Sakura took a quick peek around the corner and saw a big group of ninjas collecting weapons from not only some of there own dead bretheren, but also from dead Konoha ninjas. Neji looked around with his Byakugan and looked to the left, and saw a flash of light. He looked to the right and saw another flash of light.
"Both Groups are ready, Naruto create the distraction." Neji ordered.
"Leave it to me." naruto said.
He did some hand signs and performed his shadow clone jutsu. He then sent the clones out to charge the ninjas. The other ninjas were taken by suprise but quickly regained control and made quick work of the clones. Neji gave a sharp whistle and the 4 hidden groups came out of the trees.
"Yeah! Let's go wild!" Yelled Kiba as he took a enemy down.
As his teammates charged forward, he saw a thin line across wear the flankers were headed.
"Flankers, look out!" Neji screamed.
But it was too late. Kim's and Hakawa's squads crossed the wires and a wave of kunai knives launched towards them. The squads didn't have time to think as the kunai pierced their bodies. Neji watched in shock as he saw his fellow Chunin's lifeless bodies fall to the ground. Then he heard Lee call out Tentens name and as he looked up he saw that a stray kunai pierced Tenten. He caught her as she was falling down.
"Don't you die on me." Neji said with anguish.
Tenten tried to day something but all she did was cough up blood. Neji used his Byakugan to see how bad she is, and grimaced as he saw that the knife pierced her heart. He looked at her again and he knew that she was dead. He layed her body down. And got up. He charged at the ninjas and the others followed suit. Naruto hit a couple of them with the Rasengan and sent ninjas flying. Sasuke hit alot of them with the Chidori and turned those in the way into lifeless heaps. The surviving Chunin went after the ninja until none of them remained.
"Lee, report." said Neji.
All enemies Neautralized, but we lost Ohichi's squad." Lee reported.
Neji grimiced at the news. The survivors were about to leave when a evil laugh split the air. Naruto noticed a chandilear of ice above Neji.
"Neji, look out!" Neji looked up as pieces of ice fell into his eyes. He screamed in pain as all the ice fell, but Naruto knocked Neji out of the way. But Neji was still knocked out. Then a gust of wind knocked Shikamaru, Ino, and Choji to the ground. Then a dome of earth covered them up. Then before Naruto knew it the dome collapsed into itself, killing the 3 inside. He looked around and saw that he, Sasuke, and Sakura are the only ones left. Everyone else was either dead, or knocked out. Then Naruto saw that the enemy ninja were either melting, fading away, or crumbling into dust.
"Do you like our little friends? Maybe we should destroy them Fuzei." said a gruff male voice. " Now, Now, Jishin we shouldn't be so hasty, right Himatsu?" said a female voice
"Ah yes, you are quiet right my dear. We should let Hinote decide on what to do with them." Said a suave male voice
Then, the source of the laugh stepped foward.
" We shall destroy them. Fuzei, Jishin, Himatsu. Hold them down." Said Hinote.
"Thats what you think!" Naruto said as he charged them.
Himatsu didn't even cringe as he pulled out a rapier as he went into a fighting stance. Naruto engaged the Rasengan and was bout to strike when Himatsu's sword blocked the attack.
"Why that boring." Himatsu said as his eyes glew and dark blue and he sent a jet of water at Naruto, knocking him down. Then, before Naruto's eyes, the water turned to ice.
Sakura ran to help when Fuzei stepped in front of her with a bo staff in hand.
"And just where do you think your going little girl?" She said with a grin.
But sakura was ready, she sent a kunai knife and sent it towards Fuzei. But she just breathed a puff of air and the knife was stopped in the air. Fuzei's eyes glew green and Sakura was levitated into the air. Sasuke didn't do anything as he and Jinshin had a staredown.
"Well? Aren't you going to do something?" Sasuke said with a smug grin on his face.
"As you wish." said Jinshin as he pulled out a hammer.
Jinshin slammed the hammer into the ground and as he did it, a pillar of earth came towards Sasuke. Sasuke dodged just in time, but had to dodge another pillar a second later. Sasuke dodged pillar after pillar everytime.
"I need to end this now. I need to use the Chidori." Sasuke charged up his most powerful weapon. When it was on full charge, he tired to run at Jinshin. But he realized that he couldn't move. He looked down at his feet and saw that they were covered with earth.
Hinote walked closer to the trapped Chunin. He looked into each of their eyes. But he stopped when he reached Sakura.
"Your eyes don't show fear. Why is that?" Asked Hinote.
"Because when I'm with my friends, I don't need to fell afraid." Sakura snapped back.
Hinote didn't say anything else as he stepped away from the group. His eyes then glew a deep red as he created flames in his palms. He then thrusted his fists foward and two pillars of flame towards Naruto and Sasuke. Sakura could only watch helplessly as she saw her two best friends get engulfed by the flames.
Hinote had a sorry look on his face as she screamed into the sky. He grabbed her by the neck and pulled a fist back.
"You and I will meet again soon." He said as he punched Sakura, knocking her out.
Hinote walked briskly away with his minions in tow.
"I say, anything wrong Hinote?" Himatsu said as he walked beside his master.
"It's nothing" Hinote said coldly, trying to hide from Himatsu that his eyes were starting to turn and icy blue color.
Saskura woke up in a hospital bed. as she sat up she saw Neji laying on his bed with bandages over his eyes, she saw Kiba sitting up in his bed, trying to move his legs, but to no avail, beside her she saw Lee, sleeping in his bed. She got up and went to the nearest nurse to ask her about her friends.
"Excuse me, but do you know where Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchia is?" Sakura asked sweetly.
After looking through her clipboard, the nurse said that both of them had died during the night. The Nurse tried to comfort her but all Sakura did was run, she ran out of the hospital, she ran past the Ramen shop, hoping Naruto would be there, but he wasn't, she ran to the training grounds, hoping Sasuke would be there, but he wasn't. She just ran to her house, and leapt on her bed and wept. The next thing she knew, she was woke up from her dream from that terrible night, 5 years later...
