Right then. The Love In!!!!

OK, I was simply gonna reproduce another song, because I like the look of Sleeping Pills (despite being unable to separate the chorus from the verses), but instead, I may as well just list those of you who keep me posting on GameSpot even after almost a year. I'm good at judging people on the internet from the safety of my own home, and I'm bored. Good enough reasons.

Before I get accused of plagiarism: Yeah, I know it's been done before, but whaddya gonna do. It's my goddamn blog, and I'll write whatever the bloody hell I like? OK?....

So, let's get started, shall we? Oh, please note, the list is not meant to be in any particular order. It just looks neater when numbered.

1. Carving a giant - Ahhh Carvie. The fact that he hasn't been banned speaks volumes about the sheer quality and teasing humour of his trolling. Top user, even though his wings seem to have been clipped somewhat by the moderators.

2. Raghraghragh - Agreed with me on most things when I first started posting, making me feel all warm and fuzzy inside . Everyone loves rags, and I'm no exception.

3. Riftinducer - Insightful, funny, friendly, uses correct grammar. What more can you expect from a GS poster?

4. Dave003 - Top class, AAA user. Wrote the single best post I've seen this year, but it was taken down by the mods .

5. Foolz - Some kind of a guru, a Rasputin-like figure. Showed me the delights of a chemical smile*.

6. jjr - Wrote a comment that goes: "Happy Birthday RYAN. Your awesome, continue being awesome, and we'll all be awesome. Awesome." Won't find much more awesome than that on GS.

7. Uncledean - You had me at hello, you handsome devil .

8. Turbo - Whenever you ask a question, Turbo will be amongst the first to try and help, even if he doesn't know the answer. He's everywhere. I can't imagine this site without him.

9. Darth Homer - Rational, friendly, consistent. For a long time, I thought this user was Jamie from Big Brother, but I think Darth is better looking.

10. Iszdope - This motherlover needs to learn to pick his fights more carefully. Annoying.

11. aDDikt - Got a bit over-excited about GiantBomb, but whatever, he has good taste in movies.

12. Elektrixxx - Just when you think nothing's going on on the boards, he will randomly say things like "Would you kindly bend over?", making you spit Orange Juice all over your keyboard and have a coughing fit because you laughed too damn hard before you had a chance to swallow.

13. Nintendo Man - Because gaming is a serious business.

14. Curtdogg - Let's just say this user taught me a thing or two about GameSpot's Terms of Use .

15. MJCowley - The nicest person you could ever hope to encounter on the internet, and an invaluable part of the community. Pity about his other role around here, though....

I could continue, but I can't be bothered. Some other people deserving a mention are: billy, paul939, pandadude, hackologue, whitedesert, cbok, myst.... Aw geez, what have I started here? I love you all. Happy? Gawd, talk about fishing for compliments....

* - Methylphenidate.

(To avoid the lawsuit: Concept developed by and borrowed from RYAN)

Streak out.

Hopefully not a Guru in the ilk of the love Guru!
Posted Jul 25, 2008 8:40 pm PT
Of course not. A real guru, like the ones George Harrison spent time with in India. A mystical, mysterious presence....
Posted Jul 25, 2008 8:45 pm PT
Well as long as I don't have to go to India I'll take it as a compliment!
Posted Jul 25, 2008 9:13 pm PT
Come to India, I haven't seen many gurus over here, we could use one.
Posted Jul 25, 2008 10:25 pm PT
Foolz, every self-respecting guru has to make a pilgrimage to India, or at least to Sri Lanka. Don't get left behind.

Paulie, when you go to India next, take me with you, and we'll find some together. Foolz can come too.
Posted Jul 25, 2008 10:51 pm PT
Sri Lanka>India. Fact.

I have no problem with going to Sri Lanka! In fact it's on my to-do list.

Thanks for the offer Paul, but why not come to Sri Lanka?
Posted Jul 26, 2008 1:30 am PT
Well, i love Ryan. So yeah. And the line in the comment is from wicked, i just replaced words. Its actually "Your perfect, im perfect, so we're perfect together! DANCING THROUGH LIIIIIIIIIFE!"
etc.
Posted Jul 26, 2008 4:22 am PT
Thanks for that. Your first cheque's in the mail, the rest will arrive fortnightly...
Posted Jul 26, 2008 5:00 am PT
jjr, you "love" him, eh? Interesting. I sure hope you're brothers... And that post was awesome, whatever inspired it. Riftinducer, that cheque's a bit slow in coming. I'll let it slide this time, but in the future, I'm sending the thugs.
Posted Jul 26, 2008 6:40 am PT
Woo yeah! That's me - always on here, always one of the first to post, even if I don't know the answer . Though I'm not really everywhere, just the AU boards.

And yeah, somethings going on with Riftie, he owes me big time yet I can't for the life of me find where he's hiding. I haven't checked under my bed yet...
Posted Jul 26, 2008 8:17 am PT
Turbo, streak, don't even try to find me. I'm like a chameleon: I blend into the environment perfectly, have a prehensile tail, independantly moving eyes and I eat insects.
Posted Jul 26, 2008 10:47 pm PT
Turbo, you'll simply have to look harder. I have it on good authority that he's holled up in a cheap motel in Noosa Heads.

Riftinducer, you do not know what you're dealing with here. Even if you manage to give my thugs the slip, Turbo will find you. He's an expert stalker, and doesn't give up. Have you seen "No Country For Old Men"? He's like the Javier Bardem character in that, with a scary Captive Bolt pistol...
Posted Jul 26, 2008 11:57 pm PT
Nice blog mate
Kept everybody happy by mentioning their name! That's the way to do it.
Posted Jul 27, 2008 12:16 am PT
I know Turbo's an expert stalker. But he can't be that good. I've seen his criminal record, and know for a fact he's having a slow week if he doesn't get at least 3 restraining orders.

Your thugs aren't any concern to me, streak. They have to get past the Rancor first.
Posted Jul 27, 2008 12:23 am PT
Thanks panda. I was only going to drop a few names, but it quickly snowballed out of control...

Riftinducer, don't say I didn't warn you. The dead can't exactly take out restraining orders against him, can they?.....
Posted Jul 27, 2008 12:53 am PT
Is that a threat, streak? If so, I think it only fair to warn you that the Rancor has friends....
Posted Jul 27, 2008 12:59 am PT
you didnt mention me, even after i carried you to victory in the Hnh.... ima stab you with my love implement in the eye now streak............
Posted Jul 27, 2008 4:17 am PT
I did mention you. Your name is near the bottom of the post. I just got tired of typing, so you didn't get your own comment. Sorry about that. I just had to wrap it up. I had no idea it would turn into a "mention everyone or get stabbed in the eye" thing. Rest assured that you're at least as good, if not much better than some of the goons that did get a comment.
Posted Jul 27, 2008 4:29 am PT
Don't worry, uncledean, you are much better than some of those goons who got a mention. Like that Streak000 guy, how the hell did he get on that list?
Posted Jul 27, 2008 4:49 am PT
There, I fixed it. I have heroically forfeited my place on the list of immortals. You owe me big time, dean. It's only because of your rugged good looks and your excellent performance in HnH that I'm doing this. But you better come through for me when I need someone taken care of.
Posted Jul 27, 2008 5:04 am PT
That was pretty generous. I don't suppose you can extend the generosity to me, by calling off the hit? No? Oh well, back to my cave.....
Posted Jul 27, 2008 5:09 am PT
I keep telling you, it's not me you need to worry about. It's Turbo. He'll find you in your cave, he's tracking your IP address as we speak. You're OK by me. Just keep those cheques coming, and we won't have a problem.
Posted Jul 27, 2008 5:15 am PT
I'm not worried about Turbo. Thanks to the wonders of proxy servers, he's looking for me somewhere in Charters Towers.
Posted Jul 27, 2008 3:08 pm PT
streak illl always be there when we need to see a man about a dog.... ive got my shovel, plastic bags and gaffer tape in the boot.. oh and lube, you never know when it comes in handy. and you always tell me about my looks, you said you liked it when my 10 year old girl excuse for stubble rubbed against your back.......
Posted Jul 27, 2008 11:17 pm PT
GS AU sure is getting more regulars over time. I remember when it first started (AU board), many didn't stick around but things have changed.
Posted Jul 28, 2008 9:24 pm PT
It's probably 'cause I'm here now. Noone can bring themselves to leave when they know that another genius post by Streak is just around the corner.

You are right, of course. And the good thing is that most of those regulars are high-quality posters in their own right. AU forum is by far the best thing about GS.
Posted Jul 28, 2008 9:35 pm PT
I used to mostly stick around unions in the past (my large current union has over 700 members but is dead after GS glitches took their toll). I co started the Nintendo Times union which turned into a very successful union before that. I also was an officer for the very first Aussie union (well before the AU board first started) so i never used the general forums much.

Hey, Charters Towers was my vacation spot, I wasn't looking for you there. In truth I just got bored of watching you in that cave so I gave up. Plus the bats were pissing me off.
Posted Jul 28, 2008 11:02 pm PT
Whatever you think, Turbo. You're just scared of the Rancor.
Posted Jul 29, 2008 1:23 am PT
Evil, Charters Towers is your vacation spot? Err... I guess it seems nice... other than them Aboriginal girls that shout "what the **** you lookin at boy" when all you want to do is find a simple toilet, or Aboriginal guys who go "cum ere bruz, you gut a dolla". Or white guys who push you in the shoulder for saying you don't smoke. Lovely place, Charters. Myself, I take holidays in Bundaberg. At least you can hit on the sexy Swedish fruitpickers there.
Posted Jul 29, 2008 8:45 pm PT
Yeah well I didn't think it through. And the Rancor, I wasn't scared of him. He plays a good Texas Hold Em, but the smell was getting to me.
Posted Jul 29, 2008 9:11 pm PT
Strange you should re-mention Charters Towers, streak. I had a music teacher who used to work up there. During one of his classes, they got onto the subject of planets, and when he asked what Jupiter was named after (the correct answer is a Roman god), everyone seemed to think it was named after some Aboriginal guy who found gold up there. Needless to say, WTF?

Not afraid of the Rancor? Hmmmmm.........I didn't realise "Turbo-Evil" was a Jedi name.
Posted Jul 29, 2008 9:34 pm PT
Yeah, I found that as soon as you go a bit north of the Sunshine Coast, Queenslanders become a bit... strange. Bundaberg, Charters, Townsville... yuck. Especially Townsville. I haven't seen such a collection of yokels and rednecks anywhere else. Cairns is nice because of the promise of the Reef just beyond that muddy pond, and Port Douglas is a great place, but otherwise, I'm a bit scared of NQ.....

Hmph, just realised some people could possibly get offended by this comment. I love Queensland, I really do, it's just that certain towns give me the creeps. I don't like having to constantly watch my back because of the very real possibilty of being stabbed or king-hit...
Posted Jul 29, 2008 10:56 pm PT
Hey, you know my best friend lives in Townsville... She isn't a redneck though, she just avoids them on a daily basis.
Posted Jul 31, 2008 8:47 pm PT
I was there for 1 day and night, and I saw around 7 fights in that time. Plus, the locals in bars and nightclubs don't seem like the cheeriest bunch. Other than that, it seems nice. It was much bigger than I thought. Maybe we just picked a wrong day to stay there.
Posted Jul 31, 2008 9:15 pm PT
Streak you forgot to mention me! Do you not cherish our constant and endless arguing? Not to mention the fact that I initially didn't like you because I read your name as steak...
Posted Aug 9, 2008 7:20 pm PT
If my username was steak000, I would dislike me as well. And of course I cherish all that crap. I just couldn't be bothered including everyone's name. But speaking seriously about that last argument, was there a real need to report me to moderators? That really annoyed me. Please never do that again. I just didn't think you were taking it so seriously.....

Actually, I have just found out that I can moderate you on my blog... Hmmm, could be time for sweet revenge.... Nah, just please don't ever report me again. Thanks for commenting.

"Top class, AAA user. Wrote the single best post I've seen this year, but it was taken down by the mods."

Thanks, I think the same vice-versa. But what post are you talking about?
Posted Aug 10, 2008 12:57 am PT
Hey dave. Nice to see you in this neighbourhood. The post I talked about was your biting deconstruction of Biggest Loser's eccenctricity. I don't know if it was the "best" or whatever, but I certainly found it unusually entertaining.
Posted Aug 10, 2008 5:43 pm PT
I love you!
