Hey Everyone! I'm back from vacation after a looooong drive. It was 11 and 1/2 hours one way. Thought I'd share a few pictures before I head off to an inviting bed.

The first few are on Grandfather Mountain. We were a mile up and had to cross a suspension bridge to get to one side. Needless to say, a few people didn't want to cross it. The wind had a tendency to move it up and down and it made a howling noise through the metal braces.

These are a few shots from this area of rocks on the mountain.

The open spot you see below is part of the road we came in on./

These pictures are from Mount Airy, NC. This is the hometown of Andy Griffith and the inspiration for the series The Andy Griffith Show.

They still use the old movie theater downtown too...

And they give tours in an old Ford police car like the one Andy drove in the show...

Seems like the "Snappy Lunch" was mentioned in a few episodes of the show...

And right next door is Floyd's Barber Shop...

And it wouldn't be Mayberry without Otis...

Hope everyone enjoys and enjoyed the 4th of July - Independence Day!

Well everyone, I'm headed out on vacation tomorrow and will be back either Friday or Saturday just in time for fireworks. Our city will be putting on a big fireworks show July 4th so I might try and get a few pics of that plus some of the vacation. Headed up to the mountains in Virginia and will be visiting Any Griffith's home town of Mount Airy, NC where the show Andy Griffith was based off of. I'll check in first thing tomorrow morning and then I might check in when I can, but if I can't I'll see ya'll later. Unfortunately I won't be able to do a Monday blog for this week. I'll pick it back up on July 6th.
