As we all know, the next generation consoles is all the fuzz right now. At E3, in every single game magazine. So now is my turn to talk about this War. Ill start with the 360, since it is already out. Then the PS3 followed by the Rev.
Whoever is reading this has probably already read my review about the next gen. controllers. I didn't explain the consoles themselves that much. Here I go. The Xbox 360 hit the shelves late 2005. People were so surprised it came that early. Stores sold out immediately. Many people had already reserved their 360's so they could get them with no problems. I read some reviews about it by some magazines and there appears to be some problems and upsides, like any console you can think of. The 360 has badass graphics that might only be compared with PC graphics. I played Call of Duty and that smoke looked incredible. The controller is somewhat smaller and more comfortable. The 360 can have its cover (or plates, whatever) taken off to put new better looking ones. It has the Xbox live program and everything. It's good to go.What the hell is up with the 360 only reading Platinum hit games though. It can't play all Xbox games unless it has been a good seller. Something like that but it doesn't play all of them.Alsoheard a rumor that the 360's game discs don't have enough space for certain long games. They said that certain games are going to come with more than one disc, kinda like what SONY did with the PS1. Im not sure of this info but it wouldn't be good if it is true. The 360 runs for around 300$ and is a pretty worthwhile console. Those eager for next generation go buy this, now.
The PS3 might be even more anticipated than the 360's release. There is still some wait in it also. November is the release. E3 gave all the info about it. One thing worrying people about the PS3 was Blu rays. They are very expensive. $800 bucks. So people thought that it was going to be that expensive. The PS3 is going to be out with two versions. The 20 GB PS3 for $499 and the 60 GB for $599. Of course, the 60 GB is going to have more stuff in it. I forgot the details. They released some game graphics at the show and they are great! They beat the 360s easily! Madden 07 looks badass. Metal Gear Solid 4 is one of the most anticipated. I cant wait for it! The graphics are simply great. Other games are coming out to like Final Fantasy X-///, hopefully a FF VII, and Warhawk. A new Gran Turismo game and some others. One of the great things of SONY at E3 was that it finally changed the controller. Yes!! The prototype scared people away but now they made the real one which looks much like the original controllers. Slight differences. Wireless, motion sensors( kinda like the Wii), and more space for the joy sticks. No more rumble because it screws up the motion sensors. Also, something i forgot to mention, it will have three different colors. Black, platinum, and i think white. Each game disc contains its own 54 GBs. PS3 will have online like x box and will kinda be like a computer. It will be a powerful console. Without a doubt, its going to be successful like its big brother.
The Wii, wich name was changed all of the sudden. personally, Revolution was better. Anyway, the Wii has a lot of f****** potential. The contoller is Nintendo's secret weapon. The graphics are clearly improved, better than Ps2, but the controller....thats the money maker. Personally, i would love to play a Star Wars game with the controller. The graphics are bright but not competitive.Easily the underdog at that. Also, the Wii is $250 dollars with multiple colors. He wins the price war. Popular games for Wii are among: Super Smash Brothers Brawl( introducing MGS's Snake and special attacks), Red Steel( 1st person shooter that is great for the controller),and Super Mario Galaxy( actually a platformer). Im buying the Wii along with the PS3.Both Sony and Nintendo have the things i want, like super smash brothers and Kingdom Hearts along with the FF's. Not only does the Wii have some decent games about to come out, it has mega backward compability, so you can download for a small fee the oldest games from the NES and SEGA. You can also download games from tha 64. In other words, all of the Wii's ancestors. On top there are for controller ports for gamecube controllers, since the Wii plays gamecube dics. I look forward to this console.
In conclusion, f*** yeah! The consoles will all be here by the end of the year and the next generation will arrive. I dont think the 360 having a head start is going to help it much. A bright future of gaming is close. The war will begin. Start gaming.
Both SONY and Nintendo have brought new handhelds with better graphics under our Christmas trees last year. The DS and the PSP have been selling for a while and both have their advantages and disadvantages. I'll start with the DS.
The DS is a fairly big handheld that goes beyond any Gameboy and its graphics are pretty good. Most games look like a Nintendo 64 game. Some of them are incredebly lame that are just over the Super Nintendo. Mario Kart DS is probably one of the good games that actually looks better than its 64 brother. The DS has a lot of good games and came out before the PSP. A lot of people, eager for next generation games, went out and bought it. This gave Nintendo a head start against SONY. Kirby Canvas Curse is a pretty fun game that did well for DS as well as the famous Nintendogs. And later this year more Pokemon games are going to come out with brand new Pokemon. Pokemon Pearl and Diamond will be able to trade with the GBA. All this games and Wi-fi connectivity for the DS is making the DS the leader for a while. The Dual Screen is good and all but in some games it just feels like its not needed and just bothers. I dont know a lot about this DS Lite that gamespot just put out but it could do good. DS having better games but not better graphics than PSP is what is making it the winner.

The PSP is really fun to a certain point. Some games seem sloppy without that second anolog stick. Great graphics make some games look and feel incredible. Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories is pretty good and probably the best game for PSP so far. Soon, one of my biggest anticipated titles is going to hit the PSP. Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai is due 3/06/06 according to Gamestop. Other abilities PSP has : MP3 capabilities depending on size of Memory card( which are usually more expensive than the PSP itself), you can view movies specially made for the PSP, and if tou upgrade it to 2.6 they say you can watch TV and listen to the radio, which I havent seen yet.All this makes PSP fun but it lacks in what it was supposed to be mainly abuot: games. Socom, GTA, possibly Budokai, and a few others like Star Wars Battlefront 2 are good. I still like the PSP, but they need to get third party support fast.

Of course, Microsoft hasn't come out with a portable XBox or anything. Maybe in the future? Steve.
I'll start right away. I have a PS2 and a GameCube and, like everyone, has noticed that Nintendo always changes controller style and the PS2 kept the same one as the PS1's. SONY is trying to change style now but it is f****** up. The prototype of the controller scared the s*** out of me. What the hell is up with them? It looks like a freaking boomerang. Electronic Gaming Monthly said " We dont want to throw our controls out of anger because we are scared that they will come back and hit us." Truly. The X Box 360 did a successful job at changing its contols style. It made it smaller and more comfortable by changing the Black and White buttons to a different area. SONY is trying to make their controllers more comfortable but they are messing up. It needs to change. Urgently.
(Skip this paragraph if you want to go directly to controller info.)
The Revolution. Nobody knows if it is going to be a hit or left in the dust like its little brother. Among its goods, the Revolution has a wireless controller that can turn on the console from a long distance( they figured we are lazy), has super backward compability( which is that the console can play games from previous consoles) that allows you to play games as back as the original Nintendo(NES). It has four GC controller ports on top of it and has some good games coming out with it like Super Smash Brothers Revolution(im hoping is good). Some bad things are that to play DVDS on it you have to buy the DVD player for it. It doesn't come with it. Nintendo used this as an excuse, " We didnt want to waste money on the DVD player because almost every house in America already has one. This way the console is not as expensive as the others." It is true but that just makes Nintendo seem weaker.
What really causes contreversy is the Revolution's controller. I did not know what to think. It looks too simple but it might work. I dont really know. It kinda looks like a normal controller for your DVD. It shocked the s*** out of me. Nintendo says that because of the controller that a lot of companies got interested and that they are going to get a lot of third party games. Magazines that have tried some demos with the controller say that it is great for certain sport games or other type of games were you use accuracy to do an action or something. Lets take a baseball game. With the controller you can point with pinpoint accuracy to here you want the ball to go. People think that Nintendo is focusing to much in "new gamers" because they keep talking about the audience that still hasnt discovered gaming. They say" they forgot about the most important of those 'audiences'. The general audience." Some people think its cool and others think Nintendo killed itself. Personally, I wont say anything about it until it comes out unlike SONY's new controller. Steve
