Greetings and welcome. Holy hell it's been a long time hasn't it? And of couse, what better time to make a triumphant return to thie site than with a brand new movie review.
I'm not going to lie, this review will contain minor spoilers and is completely biased. Mainly, because of one character:
No it's not Wolverine. Simply put, I could care less about him. I only cared about one person after hearing he was going to appear in the film. Of couse I'm talking about the Merc With A Mouth himself Wade Wilson aka Deadpool.
I'm a huge Deadpool fan. HUGE I tell ya. I was a fan of his way back in 1997 when I first read about him in Wolverine #90 I believe. He'll kill you if you get in his way and talk about how much he loves cake at the same time. He's absolutely insane and crazy and his kind of humor is the kind that just sticks with me. He's essentially the kind of guy I would want to be if I could be a mercenary. And I had a mutant healing factor. And it wasn't illegal.
The simple fact of the matter is this. While watching X Men Origins, they will tell you that a man is named Deadpool. He is not, I repeat IS NOT the Deadpool as seen in my blog header. The fact that they can turnhim into some sort of Baraka from Mortal Kombat 2 rip off is extremely frustrating and just flat out stupid.I know something like that shouldn't really ruin a movie for someone, but let's be honest. Seeing your favorite character brutally butcherd and turned into something he's not makes me go into an angered rage.
Aside from that is it good? Sort of. I can honestly nit pick for hours about this movie so I'll give you the one sentence breakdown. Towards the end of the movie, the special effects take nose dive. You can definitely tell they were using a green screen. There also seemed to be a feeling of, "Oh crap, we forgot all these other fan favorite mutants in X-Men 1,2, and 3. Crap. Let's throwa whole bunch of extra mutants in the new Wolverine movie and kind of make it a muddled mess". At least that's what it felt like to me. They realized they left out people like Gambit and had to shoe horn him in there some how.
Is this a movie you should see? Probably. It's still an ok film. But like I previously mentioned, seeing my favorite charcter destroyed the way he was was a sad sad thing for me. I know he wasn't the star, but still, they could have put in some freaking effort into him.
Also stay after the credits in true Marvel fashion. There are actually two different after the credit endings. One of them sucks and one of them rules. I lucked out and got the sucky one. *sighs*
Long review short, go see it. But don't blame me if you're dissappointed.

I'm suppose to see Wolverine saturday. I knew Deadpool fans would be disappointed with his short role. He doesn't have the mask.
