About ten months ago I migrated to Ubuntu 9.04 64-bit linux, and I almost forgot the feeling how's to be in windows.

I played games in ubuntu, so now I want to write some useful stuff about how to make D2MultiRes to run in linux.

I do it, I play it in Ubuntu! And I thought about writing a "how to", but I just cannot really remember what stuff I installed and other sh*t.

First comments:
To play D2MultiRes in linux is amazing! In Vista x64 it was a bit choppy, 1680x1050 was getting pretty slow. I tried to low dow the resolution to 800x600, but it is slow again. In ubuntu you play the game at native speed, natural and sure thing to do! I recommend everyone to play in Ubuntu, because Diablo runs like it is made for it.

The How To:
Install drivers for your graphic card, Install Wine, install Winetricks and through winetricks install directx9. Install Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction, dowload D2MultiRes and copy all the files to D2 directory. Run D2VidTst.
next thing to do is to make a "shortcut" - a launcher.
name: D2MultiRes
command: bash -c "cd '/media/disk1/Games/Diablo2LoD' ; wine '/media/disk1/Games/Diablo2LoD/D2MultiResGame.exe' "
(it's just what I do with the command)
And just run.

Now...I really don't know what did I do, but the first time it didn't run. I installed with winetricks the newest versions of msxml, msvc++ runtime, java runtime.

If I missed something, i'll upade it.

To be first - I wrote this on GameSpot! Cheers!

Hello to everybody!

I'm Stanoja, my nick is "ssta", It's old from 2005, and I can't change it, so....

I play a lot of games. In fact, not in the past two months, but from 1996. I'll buy a new PC soon, so then I will play again. Till then, I'll be a part of gamespot, and it's forum.

I have several PCs around my home, and the least I can do is to represent them:

1: The New one(It's not so new, but these are the names which me and my brother gave to them)
P4 3.0 GHz HT 1MB cache
2 GB DDR RAM
120 GB SATA Maxtor
N6600GT ASUS 256 MB RAM
LGDVD-/+RW
LG DVD/RW Combo

17" Proview, 1024x768

2. The old one

1.7 GHz Celeron
512 DDR RAM
20+10 GB HDD Western Digital
Inno3D FX5500 128 MB
LG DVD-rom

14" Daewoo 800x600

3.My lap-top
400 MHz Intel, some weaker version.
64 MB SD
11 GB HDD
Some intel bottom-of-the-art GPU
CD-Rom

800x600/1024x768

4.My server(rooter)
455MHz Celeron
256+32 MB SD RAM Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile
7 GB HDD
Intel on-board 810 series GPU
CD-ROM

1024x768

I have and 3-4 very old ones, 286. And when I see some of your PC's, it makes me wanna cry

The best games of my life, wich I played the most are:

1. Heroes of Might and Magic 2(all parts except 4th)
2. Diablo (all) more than 300 hrs from 2001 'till today.
3. Elder scrolls(Morrowind and Oblivion) Morrowind not so much, but Oblivion...I finished it 10+ times, and spent 500+ hrs.
4. Prince of Persia - this game was(and still is) a legend, so I can't miss it.
5. can't remember this one now....there is a thinking, but make it be clear..

I listen to music. Not while playing, but when I'm resting. I like rock and metal. Don't ask me for a favourite band, never thought about that. Stay heavy!!!

Go on, yell at me!

PS: A new friend is always wellcome!

Some people just don't have opinions. Like ssta.
ssta must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could ssta possibly have for not rating a single film?
